The Baron of Banality Posted February 10, 2004 Report Posted February 10, 2004 - PLEASE NOTE that the first leadership debate involving the candidates to lead the new Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) will take place tomorrow on Don Newman's CBC Newsworld show (channel 26 on GTA cable) at 5pm EST and NOT at 6pm EST as I had previously announced. CBC apologizes for the erroneous information they gave to me originally. (OK, OK, CBC is a heavily subsidized crown corporation of uncivl non-servants who are far too smug, complacent, protected and coddled to actually care or apologize for anything but if they were in a competitive, for profit, market driven private network, I'm sure that they WOULD have apologized.) As mentioned before, Belinda Stronach is sitting this debate out for the same reason that Alberta steers don't hang around abbatoirs if they can find a way to avoid them. - Also please note that the first CPC sponsored leadership candidates' debate takes place on Sunday, February 22nd at the Ottawa Congress Centre between 2 and 4 pm, EST and will doubtless be carried on either and probably both CSPAN and CBC Newsworld. This time Belinda will join the two serious candiates because the party rule says all candidates MUST debate in party sponsored debates or they must withdraw from the race. Quote
