jdobbin Posted June 6, 2008 Report Posted June 6, 2008 (edited) http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/080605/...e_wikipedia_war Literally hundreds of changes had been made to Prentice's biography over the past week, with many originating from IP addresses that were traced to Industry Canada computers at the department's Queen Street address in downtown Ottawa."Even though someone from within Industry Canada thought they were making these changes anonymously - and they are, in the sense of not knowing the precise individual - it was not very difficult to trace back the fact these changes were coming from within the department," Michael Geist, a professor at the University of Ottawa, said Thursday in an interview. This is quite amusing. Lot of puff editing from someone in Prentice's department. No matter how much editing takes place, the copyright law is going to make people angry. A lot of those people will be Tory members cross the country. Edited June 6, 2008 by jdobbin Quote
Bryan Posted June 6, 2008 Report Posted June 6, 2008 http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/080605/...e_wikipedia_warThis is quite amusing. Lot of puff editing from someone in Prentice's department. No matter how much editing takes place, the copyright law is going to make people angry. A lot of those people will be Tory members cross the country. There's a reason the CPC has delayed introduction of the new copyright bill again, they know it won't fly. People are increasingly demanding less restrictions, there's no chance in hell of them ever accepting MORE of them. If they try to pass a Canadian DMCA, it's over for the CPC in a 1993 kind of way. In a way, I feel sorry for Prentice though. He's probably got the most thankless job a cabinet minister could have right now. His obligations to his trade partners directly clash with his obligations to his electorate. It's virtually impossible for him to do his job in a way that will make anyone happy. Quote

If there is a choice to be made it will probably go against the people in favour of trade partners and big business. Quote
