DarkAngel_ Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 (edited) is religion objective or subjective. if so has science been the only benefactor of knowledge? or is heart more to depth and learned open-mindedness or stubberness in religion. i ask out of fear that delusional and rational thinking out of their opposites are actually very much a part of the same thing, and morally irrelevant, for religion and morality are separate in part as well as science and morality are separate in part. if this is true then are our children’s new moral outlet movies and music, aside from morally correct parents, do they often turn 'immoral' without indoctrination from those outlets??? EDIT: The title of this thread has been edited to read: "Is religion objective or subjective? -- open mind, please, really?" so that it is more descriptive of the topic discussion. The original title was: "open mind, please, really?" Brain Candy Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 (edited) Interesting post. The universe is a complicated place, and human beings are bizzare because they both live inside and try to fully understand it, which might be impossible, which is good because the nature of existence is allways "good" and this means humans will allways be dynamic in their approach to things. I think this is why their is a need for some forms of spiritualism/mysticism and intuition (somewhere between instinct and reason) in all men, because rational thought and even morals constructions dont take place without a particular value or idea grasped slightly beyond the concrete behind it. I think specific religions can help or hinder you depending on how you approach them. If you view your religion as symbols to hide behind while reality stares you down it's a hinderance, but as ideas to center your soul to help you avoid stupid distractions as you reach for the stars its a miraculous tool. Atheists probably encounter the same problems in another form. Edited March 12, 2008 by Brain Candy Quote Freedom- http://www.nihil.org/
DarkAngel_ Posted March 13, 2008 Author Report Posted March 13, 2008 Atheists probably encounter the same problems in another form. true, the moral aspect of looking at a form of reality as well as making a human complex not; so to say...'robotic' makes one self sufficient on an understanding base, and can be reached by many area's of inspiration, like cosmology and physics. but beyond that the more simple outlet is easier to be learned for it has been passed down through families for many generations, as here spirituality of the same type is one way, and in Britain it is another but of the same base. now theorized, (keep in mind) if a human mind is wired to act stubbornly; it can be pushed into a subjective world, this sensation can often cause delusional thinking. so to what solution does the complex of many minds that disagree in the age of information incline to grow out of 'advertising alternative truth' and acting on opposition as well as difference. if logical truth in the objective world is truth in general, primalities will not allow an open mind in religions regarding the super-terrestrial. with the gloves off, the fight is on. the war seems to be fought on the web, and on land.
