Now you are a Christian? You that Christianity corrupts. You mention nothing about the church.

You can't even keep your story straight

I'm not a Christian...hmmmm...how could THAT work. BTW...Jesus wasn't a Christian either...[wink] [wink]

Perhaps, then you would like to tell the room how a Priest with his finger down a 8 year old's pants is an appropriate "secular" education?

So if Eskimos ate the members of the Franklin expedition, we are to conclude that all Eskimos are cannibals? What unreasoned reasoning.

Only if the Inuit had a penchant for cannibalism and it was protected by their religious orders......

The Priests have had a long history of sexual abuse and homosexuality, among other social diseases AND the perpetrators have been persistently protected by the Church. Does that make all Priests paedophiles? No. But it certainly indicates it was tolerated and protected as an entitlement within the Church.

What utter nonsense. You'd be the first one to point out the barbarism of burning homos at the stake...another preistly occupation some years earlier...if it behooved whatever silly argument you were making at the time. And I doubt you would even see the contradiction.

Thanks for making my argument.

Yes, clearly priests don't accept homosexuality, or the homosexual Catholics would be able to live in peace. However, it is pedophilia, which is unrelated, where the Catholic Church really seem to 'shine'.

I don't know how anyone who has listened to the news in the last 10 years or more can have any respect at all for the Catholic Church, the way it conducts itself to protect itself at the expense of innocent children. It is a thoroughly sick and perverted institution, imo, and it bothers me a lot that Catholic people don't stand up and walk out! The guilt trips the Catholic church teaches people have nothing to do with 'sin' but only to do with the power and control of the church over the people.

In the context of this topic ... residential schools ... the other churches are no better, though they have at least acknowledged that children did die there. The Catholic church continues to lie to protect itself. Apparently there is no sin in lying, cheating, stealing land, abusing and murdering kids ... but only in talking about it. <_<

Apparently neither do Indians, since this kind of thing was the norm prior being civilized by Europeans. Not to mention a whole host of unseamly "cultural" practices which now are conveniently ignored whenever Indians talk about reclaiming their culture.

Are you saying that perversion was/is official government or even Church policy?
  • Free speech: "You can say what you want, but I don't have to lend you my megaphone."
  • Always remember that when you are in the right you can afford to keep your temper, and when you are in the wrong you cannot afford to lose it. - J.J. Reynolds.
  • Will the steps anyone is proposing to fight "climate change" reduce a single temperature, by a single degree, at a single location?
  • The mantra of "world opinion" or the views of the "international community" betrays flabby and weak reasoning (link).

The Official Catholic Church policy was to whisk away the perpetrators and give then a new church some miles from the on they were accused at. There was no investigation, no punishment and no discommunication. There were even a quite a few instances where the priest shared the boys and girls they molested. The Church not only knew of thes abuses but refused to cooperate with the police when the accused came forward.

Yeh, just lie the Liberal Adscam, abuse was a Church policy.
