Thanks for the great discussion on PR. A person could only dream that our Gov't would even consider such reforms. I, being a redneck, anti-everything warm and squishy Albertan know that the only 2 ways any kind of reform to our political system would be if the all the east desired to, or the system was forced to change. (and for God's sake don't read too much between the lines).

People like you could care less, but, by gawd you would be one of the first to bitch and complain if things weren't going your way!

Separation? Who wants to separate? People in the West are tired of no say in this DEMOCRATIC country. Quebec wants to look after its' own affairs that concern Quebecers. I think the solution to this problem is having a Triple E Senate. NOT a Dictatorship that we have had for so long. A Country the area size of Canada shouldn't be controlled by an overpopulated centre like Ontario (Toronto). A Triple E Senate would elevate many of the problems that we have with alienation across this country, but it comes down to a gov't doing what's right for the country as a whole.

Well, here we go again. Will the Libs be responsible? Will they do what is best for Canada or what the voters of Ontario think is best for Canada again, and again and again. The truly spoiled people in this country are the people that rely on our 'Social Net'. Why do you think that the Maritimes voted Liberal? Was it because of the responsible governing by Ottawa. NO! It was the fact that they were AFRAID that they would have to find work to survive. The fish stocks have been poorly managed by Ottawa for so many years now they won't let the fishermen fish, they give the quotas to the natives! Talk about a spoiled bunch! If you want a good example of what happens to people when governments had out cash to people, sheesh! That is what you can expect in this country in a few more decades of social programs that 'help' people out when they are down and out. Yes, I think that those programs are wonderful and IDEALLY, they should help everyone out. BUT, people are basically lazy, who the hell wants to work at McDonalds for $6.00/hr when you can get more money for a lot less work by staying home? Will Martin and the Liberals govern responsibly and quit wasting our hard earned money? I doubt it, a leopard doesn't change its' spots. The Liberals will go on lying, cheating and wasting, and all those Liberal voters will continue being happy until one day there are no more West to plunder.

What in the world is with people? I can't understand this fear of change. It seems to me that Liberal voters must know a hell of a lot more about the Conservatives and Steven Harper than I do. I think they must be psychic because they go on about what Harper and the Conservatives will do if they get into a majority positon. Good Gawd, as if it can be anything worse than what we have had to put up with for the past 30 years! I hope the Conservatives get in with a minority and join up with the Bloc! That should shake up the country! Senate Reform for instance. Take some of the voting power from future Dictators, similiar to our past Dictators such as Trudeau and Chretien. Could you imagine having a government that considers the good of the whole Country instead of the centre of the universe? Could you imagine building industry over in the maritimes or on the prairies? No wonder Liberal voters are scared that the conservatives might get in power. Can you imagine having a justice system that protects the victims or serves the victims instead of worrying about the convicts? Can you imagine getting decent health care? Conservaphobia. Take a pill you Liberal voters. I'm tired of being unreasonably taxed, and herded around by annoying Liberals.
