  1. i just want to point out one quick fact about the auto industry say a car in the US costs us as canadians $15,000 to buy direct from the US now that would be nice wouldn't it? but this is how it works we have a unionized middle man to help out the US... lets us GM as the example you have GM America, and GM Canada GM America tells all of GM including GM canada what to produce and how much. GM America then sells the vehicles that are produced to their companies, such as GM Canada so now GM Canada buys the vehicle say for $22,500 to ensure GM America is making their money for selling the vehicle... after that GM Canada needs to sell the vehicle to all the GM dealers across canada, and they also need to make sure they make enough profit off each vehicle to ensure all their staff, overhead, and everything else in the world under business is covered.. so lets say GM Canada now sells that vehicle for $30,000... why the Heck is this going on? its something our trusty Liberals have set up with all their wisdom in leading this country... the reason why i know this and how it works is because i work for a equipment company, where we just recently removed our "Canadian" middle man (good thing our company is based out of Japan) and now we buy from the American company direct where we are saving on average 15% on every machine purchased direct from the US. Now having said all that, our business doesn't have the same trade laws as the auto industry, but if we were able to get rid of these stupid costs and revenue generators, the average canadian would be able to buy more car for their buck, or save more buck for their car, therefore increased consumption but hey, lets let the liberals make sure that they screw this up by throwing out stimulus packages to big companies instead of giving tax breaks to corporations to ensure they do their spending and ensuring we have jobs and then consumption happens... what a weird idea, musta been a conservative to think that one up GO HARPER!!!
  2. gonna break this down a bit 1st) larger population base... we are making by just fine, and if we did split, we would have a lot of people immigrating or emigrating our way for jobs 2) international reputation... do you know any other premier in all of canada that meets with the president of the US? that goes to Europe to meet with their leaders?? i for one don't know of a single premier other than Klein and Stelmach that have done that 3) variety of industries... we have farming, forestry, oil & energy, and some manufacturing, but there is trading so we're ok 4) banking system... did you know that western banks are the only banks in all of canada that are still growing and showing profits? 5) east west relations... well, thats debateable depending who you talk too 5) ports... just need BC baby!! as far as the rest of the issues, they are minor... we have the best health care in the country, thanks klein!! pension, can do our own, passports, do our own, rights and freedoms - we got provincial laws, sure we can make a few more, got lots of lawyers and judges out west too... not trying to make excuses, but its evident that BC, AB, SK, MB could successfully separate and not have to rely 1 bit on the East for anything
  3. i want to live in a canada where french liberals (who are ex-bloc) combined with the bloc combined with a power hungry socialist ISN'T running our country into an economic hardship... i want someone with a vision and will be conservative and sound with our hard earned tax paying dollars, and not fund ridiculous, unneccessary programs, and cut spending where it doesn't need to be spent in such turmoil as we are going through now, and will continue to go through until the US can short their sh*t out. i want to live in a Canada where the west will have a voice that will be heard, not always agreed too and followed, but heard and comprised, and work in a collaborative effort for all canadians.. where i see the liberals and the coalition taking us at this point in our lives is through the dirt and ruining everything we've built for their own power, and only acknowledge their needs and wants without taking considerations into anyone else and unfortunately, "anyone else" is the West and all of our resources... you take our resources, you take our money, you take you take you take and you won't take our advice on how to govern a country... well that my friends, to you whom oppose the conservatives and oppose the western brothers and sisters of Canada, you my friends deserve a big, friendly, F U wake up and smell the coffee, you've (the east) been heard all of our canadians lives out with ignorance to the West, its about time we stood up for ourselves and our rights and our way of life, and if this is what it takes, then so be, I for one will be all for it
  4. well everyone out west will always remember for the rest of our history of what his dad did to our side of the country, and i can guarantee if he ever did make a run, it'll be mayhem out here and the conservatives will be out in full force and extremeists will be bountiful for western separation
  5. as we enjoy telling the east to go away and let us be, now we have power, economic power, and the east continously tries to suck it dry and leave nothing for the west to build off of... why? because you have more population? so you have more population, so we should work in the cotton fields for you guys? we want whats rightfully ours, and if you want some of our stake, move here and pay our PST.. wait, we don't have a PST.. also, we love throwing the separtist issue back in the faces of quebec, they only want to separate because of their language indifference from the rest of the country? how much more do they want all of Canada to bend over before they stop giving it to us all? it's tiresome, its endless, and it really upsets a lot of people out west.. no one out here minds paying the billions and billions to a united Canada, but we are tired of being told how much, and how to run our businesses, our environment, our health care systems, our education, and our way of life... you're not from the west, so stop telling us how the west should be run.. now having said all that, we FINALLY have someone from the west in power, after decades? of work? and immediately the East is calling for his head, why? is the sky falling or something? if you didn't notice the rest of the world, including the west, is in economic turmoil.. the Liberals have proven time and time again, especially in the last recession, that they have NO IDEA how to run the country.. I think its about time that someone from out west, where we thrive with prosperity, takes the bull by the horns and runs our country the way it needs to be during economic hardships, and those out East should go along for the ride and see a different view of how to run a government is done.... who knows, maybe you'll pick up some good ideas and enjoy the way the Conservatives govern... You've asked the West to shup up for decades while you told us what to do, i think its about time ONT and QUE shuts up and listens to us since we've always overcome your destruction of our way of life, businesses, education, and health care...
  6. and i can agree with most of your comments, and i am all for a unified canada, as are the majority of westerners... but we are tired of being pushed around by the 20M people out east... WE finally have OUR voice in parliament after having to deal with decades and decades of french prime ministers who have done nothing but detriment the west with such policies as the NEP... we've sat here and we've worked hard and we've sucked it up... well with what has been done here over the last 2 weeks has been a HUGE slap in the face to all people out west, and has UPSET so many people, that the word "separate" has been discussed at coffee houses, kitchen tables, and water coolers... so until the east will start listening to us out WEST and listen to OUR voices as equally as they listen to ONT and QUE's, they have started a small snowball of separtism out here, that may snowball into something huge
  7. wow, are you normally this dumb? read the red.. thats what you said.. i said show me a quote that shows calgary losing $12 billion like you stated.. do we really have to go through this, or is this where you get ignored?
  8. its not the fact we hate canada... and i've been saying that, i know seinfeld voiced a different opinion... i love canada to death, and not much will ever change that... but if the east is that desperate to throw out a conservative gov't within 6 weeks after an election to get back their power they have lost, and continue to lose... i am not for that canada!!!

Get another 8 million or so more people. QUOTE tell us that we are the sole reason why the environment is falling... we're tired of everyone out East telling us that we are the problem, but you all want the hand outs and fistfulls of money handed over with nothing in return, not even gratification for all we do for canada You make your contribution to this country the same as I do. I live in a city that has a net loss of 12Billion dollars in taxes and you will find , maybe, 10 people who want to separate. All this in the size of Calgary. QUOTE i think that sums up a lot of our feelings towards the east and this so called CANADA that they speak of... we see a very different Canada, we love Canada, but we love WESTERN Canada The east isnt your problem, Ottawa is.
  10. i know, but hopefully they can wake up and see that they need us to survive, and all we want out of ALL of this mess, is just to let us be, we'll contribute to the country, we'll help the rest of the country be prosperous and have a good way of life the liberals want to rob the west blind, and sifen all the monies into the east and make us a ghost town like we were during the NEP because of those inconsiderate ..... liberals out east, they have no care in the world to BC, AB, SK, or MB... the world revolves around ONT and QUE as far as they are concerned, and its too bad the maritimes are so close and have to listen to those 2 provinces gripe about the west all day every day because their view gets skewed by the liberals brain washing... let the conservatives run this country for as long as Chretien did, and I guarantee this country will be 10x better than we've ever been in our history as Canadians
  11. the majority would have went to ONT and QUE, with left overs for BC, and all that money would come from alberta OIL.. well princess, oil companies will be quick to leave, they are already shutting everything down very slowly
  12. helping a child learn to read eh... doesn't exactly tell me anything about calgary losing $12 billion in taxes...
  13. yawn... better give them a $30 billion stimulus package to utilize that and stabilize the economy then
  14. so what? its being prolonged till the budget comes out... this was all brought on by the liberal party and supported by separtists... dion has to save face for having the worst election in liberal history, and this is how he's done it... and if anything, he may have woken the sleeping giant of the west, and Canada could face severe consequences if enough voices out west get heard to start the ball rolling on separation... which i am sure there already has been and will continue and will eventually get heard by the rest of the population
  15. the roles have been reversed for the last 20+ years with all the liberalism being thrown down our throats
  16. you back that claim up with a link to prove that calgary loses $12 billion in taxes, cause that is full of crap and you know it... this province has made billions in SURPLUSES, we have NO deficit, we are not in DEBT.. tell me any different, and you better provide some links
  17. how about not having a government coalition throwing out all of the above... how about letting the Conservative gov't run longer than 2 1/2 yrs... how about not letting a liberal leader who got the least amount of seats in liberal history with his own party throwing him out of leadership in may combined with a known separatist run our country with a power hungry NDP leader?? how about we start there and then we'll talk
  18. excuse me???? what is ONT and QUE's issues??? money and political power... all we out west want, is a voice that will listen to our needs, and not ask for all of our money, tell us how to run our province, tell us that we are the sole reason why the environment is falling... we're tired of everyone out East telling us that we are the problem, but you all want the hand outs and fistfulls of money handed over with nothing in return, not even gratification for all we do for canada and i'll bring my example back of ALBERTA handing over $25 MILLION to QUEBEC to build a museum, QUEBEC REFUSED to fly a Canadian flag in front of this museum... i think that sums up a lot of our feelings towards the east and this so called CANADA that they speak of... we see a very different Canada, we love Canada, but we love WESTERN Canada
  19. no quebec, dion, duceppe... might lose poutine, but we could call it something else
  20. its not the country, its the liberals, and more so, the french liberals
  21. the only thing that can truly hurt us out here is if oil went to $20/bbl... now having said that, if oil gets that low, ALL of North America suffers, let alone Canada, let alone if the west separates and a separation wouldn't happen right away, it would take time, and hopefully with the time it takes to separate, the world economy will be a bit more stable. having said all that, SK has 10billion estimated barrels of oil they are sitting on, top that up with alberta, and you're talking 2 of the richest provinces in all of Canada, SK is just not tapped into their economic boom yet, ...having said that, they have elected a new gov't, and got rid of the old gov't, which was an NDP by the way of the last 34 years, and now with a CONSERVATIVE gov't in place, they have struck a deal with the Natives to explore and prosper SK and make them a viable province to live in... so having said all that, within 10 years SK is going to be a very high potential wealth province, if it doesn't achieve it sooner... so AB, SK alone will be 2 dominant forces on the canadian economic landscape, if the west doesn't separate... and BC brings is a retirement ground for rich albertans, a place to vacation close to home, and they got the ocean, oh ya, and forestry, if that ever takes off again.. but i love BC, and so does everyone out west, and pretty sure BC loves Alberta, because most of their employment out in BC stimulates from Alberta with their ports and head offices, plus they do contribute different types of mining up north.. basically, when its all said and done, the only thing all BC, SK, AB would need is manufacturing, which we could invest that into manitoba, and make manitoba the new ONT, but at least they'd be happy
  22. the problem is that no one out east that is younger than 40 has any idea of how much of an impact that the NEP had on alberta and how much devestation it created for our province. thankfully, the new generation of albertans, have many friends, family members, co-workers that have lived through this time, and are more than happy to tell us the stories and inform us of what happened and why. we the new generation, are seeing the same policies, formatted and worded differently, being created by a similar french-led liberal party being created all over again, and with the new generation, as well as past, we would be more than happy to pack our Alberta bags and let the rest of Canada figure out their own mess derived from a few that have no idea how to run a country, country wide... not just within ontario and quebec's borders
  23. you are not the only one, this is an outrage... let the budget come out before you start your false claims about how the tories plan to run our country.. i hate the liberals with a passion, and would be 100% for any form of western separtist party, or if push came to shove, a civil war i would back if thats what it took to separate from the east
  24. i'd like to attend, do you know where its being held?
  25. we would be more than welcoming, but it may be a ghost province, you may find a lot of people moving out of canada... well thats a bit extreme, but you hear people saying it on the radio shows
