  1. If you're going to say something stupid, at least try and back yourself up so you don't look completely ridiculous.
  2. I hope your not Canadian, because otherwise that's a lame question to be asking. The Tories are the Conservatives.
  3. In a poll conducted recently, if Canada were to hold an election now, The Conservatives would win a strong election. Full results of the poll here: http://informedvote.ca/2008/12/torries-tak...ad-in-new-poll/ I think the author brought up a good point - Canada's shift in opinion could be a result of the Liberals wanting to form a coalition with the separatists.
  4. I love how every article I read related to this incident states that throwing a shoe is a sign of disrespect in Iraq. As if it's respectful anywhere else on this planet...And you have to love Bush's response to the incident - "It was a size 10 shoe!"
  5. On the humorous side of things, George Bush got 2 shoes thrown at him during a Speech in Iraq. A journalist took of his shoes and launched them at Bush, almost knocking him right in the head. The video can be seen here: http://informedvote.ca/2008/12/iraqi-journ...ow-did-he-miss/
  6. What's the problem to you?
  7. Do you guys agree that the root of this problem lies with our immigration policies? Canada's notoriously known for its lax policies in letting each and every applicant into the country...
  8. Yes, and this is the reason Canada has become a safe haven for terrorists. I don't know what the solution is, but we can't be accepting each and every single immigration request so easily.
  9. You say without proof you aren't in anyway sold. Canada being a safe haven for terrorists is a well-known fact. You can look at the following list of terrorist organizations active in Canada published by Public Safety Canada: http://www.publicsafety.gc.ca/prg/ns/le/cle-eng.aspx Not once did I imply that we should do anything radical that resembles the Bush doctorian. What I implied, and what the article implies, is that we should protect our border to prevent the same type of thing that happened in Mumbai. Protecting our border would not violate anyone's rights or be nearly on the same scale as an invasion into Iraq.
  10. I think a lot of you are missing the point that even though there has been no terrorist attack as a result of infiltration through the Canada/US border, something like that could happen, and we should act BEFORE for once. We always seem to act after it's too late.
  11. I found a really interesting article talking about how Canada is a safehaven for terrorists, and its implications for Canada-US relations. It's especially relevant given the tragic terrorist attack in Mumbai. The article can be found at: http://informedvote.ca/2008/12/our-neighbo...-be-terrorists/
  12. I found a really useful chart that outlines the different party's stances on the major issues regarding the upcoming election. It has helped me in making my voting decision: Quebec Issue Chart
  13. Given that elections will be happening in Quebec in just 2 days, I found a very useful chart that can help you guys make your voting decisions. The chart outlines each major political party and where they stand on the issues that are defining the election. You can view it at: Quebec Elections Chart
  14. You raise a very good point. There should be no way the Bloc could help the other opposition party's form a coalition.
