Why should this kind of scum get the chance to destroy four children's lives and their families? And in most cases when they get to court, its multiple offenses. There is not rationale for giving them even a second chance. They are just going to go out and molest or murder another child. The safety of our children should be the first priority, not the rights of this scum.

Why is Argus still here? I noticed he wastes no time in getting all over any new posters. He called Kindred a whore, he called idobbin a pedophile, he calls everyone a Jew Hater who doesnt support the genocide of the Lebanese people. He has constantly baited and insulted Machinations. Now he is coming after me, and I dont have the time or the inclination to play his games. And that is just the tip of the iceberg. I have been reading through the forum, he has referred to the Lebanese as filthy goat herders, he has referred to posters as pig ignorant morons and continually makes personal attacks and insults part of his posts. The only warning I saw was for Machinations. I dont get the idea these suspended or banned posters were people who posted a few times to make trouble. I noticed if others who perhaps arent suspended or banned have stopped posting as often and its not hard to guess why. They all had a run-in with Argus, he is the common denominator in this. It could be a good forum, but it isnt, not with Argus running the show and driving away good posters who have something to contribute. It seems to me that the real trolls are the ones who might have been here for awhile and feel it is their forum and resent any new comers and anyone who has something intelligent to say. Just my take on the forum, as a newcomer looking for a good forum for political discussion.

I have been reading through the forum and it is very apparent that Argus can get away with doing whatever he likes. Every new poster here is immediately attacked by him and threatened and insulted. Does anyone know of a good political forum I can move to? It is impossible to carry on an intelligent discussion when someone like Argus is insulting and ranting at people and has no intellectual contribution to add to the discussion. Machinations I am assuming you have posted, I am with you, on this, it wont be long before Black Dog is gone, Figleaf, FTA and others who have made intelligent, well thought out, informative posts.

The unfortunate reality is that women 's income still lags behind mens, and its still harder for women to climb the corporate ladder. Men still, for most couples, remain to be the "prinicpal bread winner" in the family. Womens careers and education are often compromised because of raising children because the children's needs take priority over a career. It is generally the mother who is called at work if something comes up with the kids, its generally the mother who stays home with a sick child. And most divorced mothers find themselves living a much lower life style after divorce than do fathers. What is needed is better enforcement of Child Support for dead beat parents. I was awarded $1850.00 a month in spousal and child support, I told the Judge it was way too much, that neither parent should suffer financially just because we couldnt make it together. He lowered it, at my request to $1500.00. (I had been partially disabled in a work accident while we were married and he walked out because I couldnt work fulltime and he had to start to pull his share of the financial responsibilities.) He then arranged to get fired by telling off his boss and he was making well over $100,000.0 a year by that time. He cashed in the kids college fund and kept that money. His mother died and left $5000.00 to each grandchild and he kept that. He never did pay Child Support, and the court didnt do anything to enforce it. In the end he got away with owing over $200,000.00 and the kids did without everything except very basic needs, and sometimes there wasnt even enough to eat. He had access to the kids whenever he wanted to see them, which wasnt often until they became teenagers and he didnt have to "babysit" them. He refused to take them for weekends, or for even a day when they were younger. Its more often about getting back at the wife for some real or imagined injustice. Men often have these irrational rage responses in divorce, even if they were the ones to walk away from their families. Been there, done that too. The children too often become a tool to hurt the other parent.

Ok I was talking to Kindred on another forum and she said she did not receive a warning, just bang you are banned. Wondering how do you access PM's if you are banned? Is there a time limit? What if someone doesnt check the forum for awhile? Do you have to respond to a warning?

Was Kindred warned before she was banned? Or Machinations? Where are these warnings?

If I understand the context of your post, a woman who gets a divorce should be prevented from having a boyfriend, or God forbid, getting married again. IF she DARES to commit such a "crime" the FATHER of her children should NOT have to support them or pay Child Support. Only if she is living like a nun for the rest of her life should she be entitled to Child Support. Kids are cheap to raise, oh sure they are, they dont really need housing, clothing, food, education, recreational activities, dental care, and how dare they expect or ask for things like bikes, roller blades, skate boards, rooms of their own, or school supplies. But then why should a poor father be asked to pay for any of these things? Whats something a lot of "soon to be divorced" fathers do when they heading for a Child Support Hearing? They quit their jobs or arrange to get fired, "sell" assets to friends, hide property and investments. Arrange to get paid "under the table" so there is no record of their income. The poor poor man who had to pay for his son's braces ! Who would have paid for them if the couple had remained married? The Government? You're right, the kid should be "punished" and forced to live with crooked teeth and has no right to expect dental care. That seems to be the message on "Christian" websites. To pray for Israel, I just find it so politically convenient that the Jews are suddenly being heralded as "Christians", and it is specially stated "pray for Israel". A little spin and misrepresentation can go a long way. I am sure the average "Christian" American has no idea where Israel or Lebanon are and follow like sheep, as they always do. IF he and others want to quote the bible to people and say the bible tells us to pray for Israel, then isnt there something in there about "coveting your neighbours house" as being a "no-no" Thou shalt not kill ? Seems to me thats in there somewhere as well.

This was on his website Which was in my original post, I guess I wasnt clear enough, there were two trains of thought, the scary stuff, and then the Christians embracing the Jews as "new found" Christians and asking their congregations to pray for Israel, specifically, rather than for peace and an end to the fighting. Which I would think we be more "Christian" of them.

WHEN is Canada going to crack down on pedophiles and stop letting them out to reoffend? I think we should bring back the death penalty, for child molesters and murderers. Reoffend, what a benign word to describe the horrors these children go through, being kidnapped, beaten, raped, forced to perform oral sex, sodimized, brutalized, starved, passed from one pedophile to another, photographed, humiliated and terrorized , their little bodies ripped to pieces during sexual attacks as they scream and no one hears them, no one saves them. Then the Judge, even when these depraved animals are caught, gives them a few years and sets these predators free on our children again. Kill the bastards.

Noticed Machinations was banned from the forum. What I dont understand is why some posters who continuously insult people and call them names don't seem to get banned. I have read some pretty nasty insults from one poster who seems to still be here. Perhaps there could be some clarification of how exactly this works. If two posters are insulting each other, why does only one get banned?

Providing for basic needs, food, shelter, clothing, heat, education would go a long way to creating a country where people would have the freedom to purse self-actualization and "happiness". To many people "happy" would be being able to feed and house your family and have a safe envirnoment in which to raise them, and I am not talking about "safe" as in freedom from war and terrorism. I am speaking of having a safe home, where you can count on having heat, no disease carrying rats or other pests, safe from drug dealers and crime, safe from eviction from inability to pay rent. Happy to disabled people would be having independence, a place to live and food. Employment. While happiness is relative it can also be subjective when it comes down to such simple things that most people take for granted. In an abstract concept if may be impossible to measure, but in terms of concrete needs that have to be met before "happiness" becomes a factor or concept, it is easily measured. You can argue that Maslow as others was an idealist but in terms of basic human needs, Canada falls far short of the mark, as do most "democratic, enlightened" countries. Capitalism has circumvented the theory behind democracry. For many people there is no "freedom of choice".

The system isnt getting better, and one of the problems is people dont have their own doctors. Low wages paid to Canadian doctors means they are heading south of the border in droves. Problems with the Government authorizing medications and treatments and sugeries in Canada means the doctors get fed up and are leaving, so are the nurses. We have inadequate hosptials and facilities, when you have 15 people clogging up the ER waiting for room on the wards, in the interior, a TRAUMA CENTRE I might add, and the centre is left with 5 open beds, there is something REALLY wrong. The staff is there, but the beds arent so ER isnt working the way it is meant to. Our pool of Specialists is drying up. GP's are having to do surgery in the ER. People's lives are put on hold indefinitely while they wait for surgery for things like a dislocated shoulder, or a hip replacement, or an infection that is threatening their lives. People wait for cancer treatments. My FIL had a cancerous brain tumour, there were two of them in the hospital, waiting to go to Vancouver for treatment. The doctor called in the family and said "Our problem is we have two emergencies, yours came in first so by rights he should go frist, HOWEVER he is 82 and the other is a very young mother with three children, who do you think should go to Vancouver first?" What could we say? What could we do? My FIL died, still waiting, a month later. By then he didnt even know who his own wife or children were. We shouldnt have to make these choices. You read posts here about people returning to Canada for medical treatment, no one is that stupid who has lived overseas. They go to Europe or China or Japan. They DONT come back to Canada to wait and possibly die waiting. I think the only people you see returning to Canada for treatment are people who cant afford to be treated in the US. And seniors who dont trust other countries. The medical plan in Canada will pay for the "cost of treatment as covered IN CANADA" and not for the "REAL" costs elsewhere, like the US. So if you are in the US you are left paying off the huge difference. But no one I have ever talked to or heard of has EVER returned to Canada from overseas for any kind of medical treatment, it would just make no sense at all to do so. Your chances are way better in the hospitals and with the doctors overseas. Canada is way behind in terms of medical facilities, Specialists, doctors, nurses, equipment, and available care.
