As I've known from recent press reports, bird flu epidemic picks up steam in Turkey. But I think we can't lay the blame for it exclusively on Turkish authorities. I consider we wave the dead chicken. The primary reason of such developments lies in irresponsible attitude of Ukraine's leadership towards epidemic of bird flu in the Crimea. The matter is that Kiev has known all about uncontrolled poultry die-off there. And Ukraine has not only given warning of the danger to neighbouring countries but even struggle to draw a veil over own problems, connected with bird flu spread on the territory of Ukraine.
Whereas most experts have registered that flocks of wild ducks, traveled to Turkey through the Crimea, are the main transmitter of bird flu virus. Thus, Turkey should make a claim against Ukraine for actual damage, because as a result of the epidemic Turkish economy has taken a bath and Turkish perspective of EU membership becomes more and more illusionary. And exactly Ukraine may supplant Turkey in this case.
So maybe, there is some element of truth in declarations of Turkish experts and politicians, presenting bird flu epidemic as the result of specific use of new germ weapons…
