  1. I came across this the other day and thought it was really interesting. We just take the policy of multiculturalism as a given for Canada, but do we really understand what the term means and what impacts it really has? I've heard of Salim Mansur before and I know his views are controversial -- which means this event is bound to be full of heated debate. Check it out: http://policyschool.ucalgary.ca/events
  2. I think the Charter and it terms can be stretched a bit too far to be too protective. I don't condone racism but people tend to scream foul too quickly on issues like multiculturalism for example, because the assumption is that multiculturalism is a benefit to Canada. Well, in many cases it is, but lets not hold the concept up on a pedestal without understanding all sides of the story.
