  1. One of the first things that Ronald Reagan did after being elected President was busting the air traffic controllers' union. After bringing home the 52 hostages held for 444 days, due to Jimmy Carter's incredibly incompetency.

Congratulations, Governor Scott Walker! You are a real American hero!

It's about time someone stood up to the unions.

We the taxpayers can not afford to fund union pensions and health care benefits. They don't fund ours. We have to pay for our own retirements and health care.

  2. The Obama administration is preparing the political ground for failure in Egypt.

How fitting that it was Juma — Friday, the Islamic Sabbath day — that convinced Hosni Mubarak to end his 30-year reign as Egypt’s ruler.

This was only hours after James Clapper, the U.S. director of national intelligence, told Congress that Mubarak’s main opposition, the Muslim Brotherhood, is “largely secular” in nature. Mr. Clapper was merely echoing the American media, taking pains to brand Egypt’s uprising as secular, democratic, and Islamist-free. It is a narrative divorced from reality. In Egypt, a self-consciously devout Islamic country, nothing is secular and Islamist-free, and therefore nothing is truly democratic, not in the Western sense.

The for me dispelled any questions about the Obama regime's handling of the Egyptian crisis, and even worse, how it will turn out.

  3. Are you all cool with this? :o

Islamofascism: Romantics in Western media expect "democracy" to flower from the anti-Mubarak rioting in Cairo. But polling shows Egyptians actually seek strict Islamic rule.

According to a major survey conducted last year by the Pew Research Center, adults in Egypt don't crave Western-style democracy, as pundits have blithely trumpeted throughout coverage of the unrest.

Far from it, the vast majority of them want a larger role for Islam in government. This includes making barbaric punishments, such as stoning adulterers and executing apostates, the law of their country. With the ouster of their secular, pro-American leader, they may get their wish.

Among highlights from the Pew poll:

    • 49% of Egyptians say Islam plays only a "small role" in public affairs under President Hosni Mubarak, while 95% prefer the religion play a "large role in politics."

    • 84% favor the death penalty for people who leave the Muslim faith.

    • 82% support stoning adulterers.

    • 77% think thieves should have their hands cut off.

    • 54% support a law segregating women from men in the workplace.

    • 54% believe suicide bombings that kill civilians can be justified.

    • Nearly half support the terrorist group Hamas.

    • 30% have a favorable opinion of Hezbollah.

    • 20% maintain positive views of al-Qaida and Osama bin Laden.

    • 82% of Egyptians dislike the U.S. — the highest unfavorable rating among the 18 Muslim nations Pew surveyed.

  4. History seems to be repeating itself:

Jimmy Carter = Barack 0bama. Which one is more inexperienced and incompetent?

Iran = Egypt. Maybe not quite, yet, but the Muslim Brotherhood is every bit as crazy as the acolytes of the Ayatollah Khomeni.

Unemployment little bit better now than under the peanut guy, but how long?

Respect for the United States in the world about the same as under the Nobel Peace prize winner. I mean Carter, not the equally undeserving Nobel Prize winner and current occupier of the White House.

Is there a new Ronald Reagan on the horizon?

    We can only hope.

  5. Definitely. That's kinda how I feel when I encounter progressive anti-fur, anti-meat, anti-fossil fuels, anti-smoking, anti-salt, anti-soda, anti-religion, anti-Wal Mart types. And they're even worse when they're telling us what to drive, what to eat, what to where, and how to live. I mean, they're in our bedrooms, our garages, our kitchens, our cars. They're in everything! They're even in our classrooms, brainwashing our youngsters, and revising history to paint America and it's founders in a horrible light. It's very disconcerting to say the least.

Now you are my kind of person. ;)

This is just bizarre. Do you not personally know and like any wonderful, left-leaning folks? Is your world sharply divided into a left-right strata, and lefties simply need not apply?

Now that's to be pitied, Jake.

Because, seriously, if that's what you beleive about "lefties"...then you simply don't know any. Too bad.

I don't even understand how a person could avoid knowing--and loving--people with different political views. How in hell does such a thing happen?

Oh yes, I've butted heads with the best of the left. Nasty college professors who are spewing their far left agenda and corrupting our young.

I must say that there are a few left leaning, not radicals, who are quite nice, friends actually. They just don't know any better.

As for being a nice guy. I am.

  6. Highly doubtful that I am confused, it is very difficult to disguise one's prejudices and their posting prose.

I don't know from anywhere but by your prose and style, I wouldn't want to know you. So keep your assertions personal opinions to yourself as they have nothing to do with this topic.

The US doesn't have a policy of multiculturalism, to my knowledge. It's a "melting pot". So... what exactly are we talking about Jake ? Some kind of whites-only immigration policy ?

Who said that whites only should be the immigration policy? Not I and,you assume that I am white, but you don't know that.

You left wing radicals are so full of incredible hate toward anyone who has a different opinion/view from what you believe and have absolutely no tolerance for a different opinion.

That is why you are always so angry, never happy. You are to be pitied.

I repeat, as Sarcosy told the French people, we have been too concerned about the identity of the person who is arriving and not enough about the identity of the country that was receiving him. Immigrants are a wonderful treasure, if they are legal and if they assimilate.

  7. Jake, I am too old and don’t have enough time left to run around the country tilting at windmills, so please tell me where we are endanger of Sharia law being forced on us.

I think it is important to understand the background and the backstory of groups who prepare white papers for public dissemination; this group is definitely not an objective, non-partisan source.

Learn a lesson from the mess that has become of Europe. You need not look much farther. It has to stop before "Dearbornistan", Michigan starts spreading across the country like an insidious poison.

  8. I'm not Jake, but we can also see how you are assigning motives to a poster that are not necessarily there. People can dislike multiculturalism without being against immigration. It's how the country handles immigration and what it requires of them. Surely we can have a discussion of multicult. and immigration without the usual accusations being thrown around.

No I am definitely NOT against immigration, but I fully expect immigrants to learn the language, and customs, follow the the laws of this country and assimilate, not segregate themselves. By not doing these things, as has been evidenced by the problems in Europe, is cause for concern and problems.

Did any of you bother to watch the videos and read the articles about the chaos that is happening in Europe?

Yes, the radical islamists who preach Jihad and want Sharia law forced on the people are a huge concern for me. They should be to all of you too.

  9. Personally, I don't think there are any groups in America that are having a hard time assimilating. Not like the problems in Europe.

Yeah, the world needs to wake up to the problems of those damn born-again Christians. I know everytime I'm on a flight and I see one, I'm petrified.

    You have that right.

At least Europe is finally waking up to the problems caused by these cultures staying in their own little communities and not trying to assimilate into the country they moved to.

That is the problem, but some in the US and Canada just don't get it.

  10. They woke up, now when will the US?

This weekend, we brought you news that British Prime Minister David Cameron announced the failure of “multiculturalism.” Now it seems he has company.

    On Sunday, Cameron stated:

“We have even tolerated these segregated communities behaving in ways that run counter to our values. So when a white person holds objectionable views — racism, for example — we rightly condemn them. But when equally unacceptable views or practices have come from someone who isn’t white, we’ve been too cautious, frankly even fearful, to stand up to them.”

  11. If you look further back you will see that I agreed there were no specific threats, it was cancelled because of security concerns, obviously something you think is funny. I'll bet if it were a liberal/democrat you wouldn't think it so funny. The hypocrisy and double standards on here are amazing.

Oh yes, the double standards here are amazing. If it were a liberal/ democrat most on this forum would be screaming bloody hell.
