jbg Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 When Israel responds to attacks, and a few strategically placed civilian human shields are killed, Israel gets the (now largely retracted) Goldstone Report. When Quadafi does it, he gets....a headline. Qaddafi Troops Fire Cluster Bombs Into Civilian Areas (link)By C. J. CHIVERS MISURATA, Libya — Military forces loyal to Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi have been firing into residential neighborhoods in this embattled city with heavy weapons, including cluster bombs that have been banned by much of the world and ground-to-ground rockets, according to witnesses and survivors, as well as physical evidence. Both of these so-called indiscriminate weapons, which strike large areas with a dense succession of high-explosive munitions, by their nature cannot be fired precisely. When fired into populated areas, they place civilians at grave risk. The dangers were evident beside one of the impact craters on Friday, where eight people had been killed while standing in a bread line. Where a crowd had assembled for food, bits of human flesh had been blasted against a cinder-block wall. Sir Bandelot Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 What does Israel have to do with this? Seems to me, the UN and Obama encouraged the rebels, might have propped them up with some assistance and then began a half-hearted bombing campaign, effectively stirring up the hornets nest then bailing on the people when Gaddfly struck back. (With, I might add, the very weapons he purchased from the west over the past ten years). Obama does not have the cahones to finish what he started. In doing so, he's betrayed the Libyans. Wouldn't doubt that in 5 years he'll be doing business with France, the UK and USA again, selling that sweet crude. Where's your saviour now Quote

bud Posted April 17, 2011 Report Posted April 17, 2011 When Israel responds to attacks, and a few strategically placed civilian human shields are killed, Israel gets the (now largely retracted) Goldstone Report. When Quadafi does it, he gets....a headline. you're a knob. goldstone retracted one thing. there are dozens of other allegations in the report which have not been retracted and have not been proven to be wrong. bloodyminded Posted April 17, 2011 Report Posted April 17, 2011 He has explciitly said that the remainder of the report--the overwhelming bulk of it--is not retracted. But I find it interesting that this "self-hating Jew" who has printed, apparently, nothing but lies, is now held up almost as an authority, thanks to the retraction of an important point.
