Getting this thread back onto topic, the Israeli attack on Syria, this article may interest some here (only some since many seem to have buried their heads up their *** as far as this whole topic goes).

*sigh*

By way of deception...

Yeah right. Like the US and Israel are going to cooperate in their own undoing.

A videotape taken inside a secret Syrian facility last summer convinced both the Israeli government and the Bush administration that it was modeled after a North Korean reactor that produced plutonium for nuclear weapons, according to senior U.S. officials who said it would be shared with lawmakers tomorrow. Source

Iran's nuclear facilities will probably suffer a similar attack once the election is over.

The only proof anyone needs of what was really attacked in Syria is that Syria didn't react, didn't run screaming to the UN and call in all the world's media to show them the poor dead pumice workers, or whatever. It kept completely silent about the attack, didn't even complain to the Arab League.

And if anyone is sorry the Israelis wiped out a potential Syrian reactor they need their heads examined. I hope they do wipe out the Iranian's nuclear sites, as well.

What a load of bullshit Argus (or is that Argues??)

Syria DID complain and filed a formal complaint against Israel wrt the air attack.

So, as usual you are DEAD wrong!

Syria Issues Formal UN Complaint about Israeli Air Attack

United Nations, September 12 (RHC)-- Syria has formally complained to the United Nations about a raid by Israeli aircraft over its territory. The Syrian ambassador to the world body, Bashar Jaafari, said Israeli fighter planes had dropped munitions after crossing Syria's border last Thursday. Jaafari described the incident as a flagrant violation of Syrian airspace.

Oh look...even Faux News reported it!

Fox News LOL

Read it and weep...

Carry on Argus spewing your Bullshit.

Buffycat, your link to the "Syria has complained" press release is somewhat misleading.

This is a pro forma exercice in the Middle East. Here's how Reuters reported Syria's complaint:

Syria has complained to the United Nations but taken no other public action so far.

...

Syria has said its air defences forced Israeli aircraft to flee and that their bombs caused no damage. Western diplomats have said Israeli jets may have simply been testing Syrian air defences after Damascus bought new weaponry from Russia.

Reuters

Israeli jets frequently overfly Lebanon and the Golan Heights regularly and this is the kind of standard response the Syrian MFA issues.

So here we have another instance of North Korea supplying nuclear technology to an Axis of Evil (i see the joke..) and yet the supplier is North Korea..... the guys who actually HAVE NUKES !!!!

This is just one report of many in the last few years where NK has supplied stuff to other countries considered battlegrounds for this War on Terror. The US has negotiated with NK for years.

Yes, Israeli jets do fly over Lebanese and Syrian territory, even though they are violating ceasefires and conditions which they have apparantly signed and pledged to.

Gosh, they've been flying over Lebanon, against the agreement of ceasefire, since the war ended.

So, hey, what does it matter what Israel does? She will never be held accountable, even though sometimes, she actually may have a point.

Oh and BTW your post has NOTHING to do with the aforementioned bombing, by Israel, of a site in Syria. All it does is confirm that Israel regularily violates conditions that she has been a signatory to... gosh, that does certainly say something about the character of the state of Israel, does it not????

(The Admins of the UK, US and Israel are complicit and responsible for alot the mess we all find ourselves in now - and this is NOT to the benefit of the people of those lands, neither is representative of all of the citizens of those lands, IMO - I am NOT a person who will judge another based on their ethnicity, country of origin, religion or affiliation - are you??? I will however hold their administrations accountable for the actions they unleash - in a dictatorship this is easy - in a democracy my view becomes a little bit more difficult to maintain.)

A typical aspect of those who hate Israel and support the Arabs is intellectual laziness and dishonesty.

Syria and Israel both basically said nothing, at first. As word started to leak out of an Israeli bombing, speculation arose as to why. The curious silence from Damascas was considered, frankly, wierd. Where were the thundering denunciations, the demand for a meeting of the Security Council, of the Arab League? Where was the condemnation from the usual suspects throughout the Muslim world?

A week or so later Syria filed a pro-forma complaint about the bombing, but nobody ever bothered to take it up. Very, very odd.

I'd really like to see you carted off and dropped down among your beloved Arabs one day, and forced to live amongs them for a while. I wonder if you'd still be so desperately sympathetic to these violently mysogenistic, backward, religious fanatics then.

But at least you are admitting that Syria at the very least, complained to the UN about it. To say they did nothing is wrong. If nothing got damaged, then Syria can only go on the notion of Israel invading the Syrian air space. It is not wrong at the start that Israeli jet fighters illegaly crossed into Syrian airspace because of a tip that MAY show a nuclear facility? Come on.

If the US/Israel wanted to do something about this, they would. But they will leave it alone for it might provide some pretext for invading Syria at a later time. Kind of light baiting them. Maybe the US has found another smoking gun, but in order to avoid emberrasment, (like the WMDs of Iraq) they are not saying much about it.

Only after the fact of the Iraqi invasion, is countries like Syria and Iran can be considered threats. And since the US has been playing with North Korea for decades, they are the ones who actually HAVE nuclear weapons. They openley declared it.

I like to see you live among them for awhile and get a true idea of what those people think. If you have people like Bush that don't tell the truth to the people (wrt WMDs in Iraq) then you have the same on the other side of the fence telling lies as well.

So both sides are lying to you and playing you for a fool. Wow this sounds a lot like how a government operates.

OK. So look at the fancy dancing that Israel does around this issue. Ever heard of a guy named Mordecai? Any time you get into the nuke issue, you are up to your chin in alligator doo-doo.
