It's moving day and you may be a little down. Don't worry, nobody really cares about the little Iraq fiasco - I mean as you maintain, you did what you felt "was right." So, what, we all make mistakes.... yours just happened to cause hundreds of thousands of deaths and continued bloodshed for years to come. So what if it made the region unstable and tarnished your otherwise good reputation. And all those young angry Muslim kids who are growing up without parents, siblings, or other families... so what? They may have become terrorists anyway, nothing to do with Iraq. People trying to point out the spike in terrorism since your little incursion just don't know "right from wrong" like you do. And that good-for-nothing new Gordon Brown doesn't know what he's talking about with his "slavish" accusations about you. You are good and deep down inside you should sleep well at night knowing that the fine mess you not only helped orchestrate, but carry out, will at least keep your name in the history books forever. I mean, being called a "lap-dog poodle" isn't that bad... just ask anyone, any publicity is good publicity right?

Oh, and don't let the door hit you on your way out.

My sentiments exactly BC Chick, good riddance to Mr. Blair. However I am upset at the plum job he is getting, after all it was mostly Great Britian that set the Middle East on the path it is on and caused so much trouble.

This is true. While the people of GB are some of the best I've met in my life, Iraq is an extension of the old British colonial mentality and the Blair leadership (which was fortunately contrary to the will of its people) clearly hasn't change since those days. Same noble PR and the same divide and rule mentality. Just too stupid to realise that you can't carry-out old-school colonial ventures in the moder information-age.... people have access to information beyond what you spoon-feed them.

I think it's sad and unfortunate. Tony Blair ran a good government - until he started listening to George Bush. Then all of is accomplishments got overshadowed and his credibility just went down the drain.

According to the Labour Party he was the best leader it has had for a generation or more, the reasons for stepping down are complicated, and I'm sure we non-Brits don't know the whole story. Basing your view of Blair on anti Bush/anti Americanism doesn't do his tenure justice. Under Blair Britain had an excellent economic record with dropping unemployment and manageable taxes . He steered the labour party more towards the centre away from the radical left, something some of his party didn't like.

And to think, he only became Labour Leader because the previous guy (who was also charismatic and popular) suddenly died.

What would have been.... Tony Blair stepping into the spotlight now!!

How suspect is that then. Charismatic popular leader dies and up steps a Mr T. Blair, hmmmm. Conspiracy theory starting up then? And Brown will be no different. He has been at the very center of British government since the outset and was the mastermind of Blairs leadership. Labour was very lucky that they inherited a country with sound fiscal policy from the conservatives, all they have done is follow that lead and raise taxes hugely onto the workforce. Gordon Brown has taken £100 bilion in taxes from the pension funds since being Chancellor and as a result has destroyed many peoples pensions, not a trusty politician........

good bye and good riddance to Blair, he was an idiot, at best.

The trumped up evidence , dossier, the death of that man in the wooded area, when he contradicted the Blair dossier.

Hopefully he will be tried as a war criminal, sigh.....we could only be so lucky.

Insults are the ammunition of the unintelligent - do not use them. It is okay to criticize a policy, decision, action or comment. Such criticism is part of healthy debate. It is not okay to criticize a person's character or directly insult them, regardless of their position or actions. Derogatory terms such as "loser", "idiot", etc are not permitted unless the context clearly implies that it is not serious. Rule of thumb: Play the ball, not the person (i.e. tackle the argument, not the person making it).

Blair was one of the better PM's and I think you may be right about Brown...
