It seems to me their unmitigated arrogance has turned around to bite them.
I have to agree. The previous NDP government tried to screw the taxpayers by signing a sweet heart deal with the unions right before they were booted out of office. The Liberals were justified in rolling back some of the terms of that contract but they did it in a really ham fisted way. If you read the SCC judgement it is clear that the governments unwillingness to engage in good faith negotiations was a big factor in the decision.

Unfortunately, this ruling will simply make the government labour unions even more arrogant. I suspect we will hear talk of the notwithstanding clause pretty soon unless the unions are willing to accept that what is done is done and no SCC ruling can change the past.

To fly a plane, you need both a left wing and a right wing.
