But whatever else, I'll tell you this ... passports do not survive experiences that destroy aircraft blackboxes.

Considering that the hijacker would have been in the cockpit, and that the bulk of the fuel would have exploded behind the cockpit, I don't think it's unreasonable to suggest that the passport would have been blown through the building. Have a look at the video - lots of paper was ejected at the time of initial impact. My nephew's neighbour in Brooklyn found papers from the World Trade Center in his yard. Other material from the planes were also ejected, such as body parts of the crew.

I don't know where the black boxes are located on a 767. If they were back where the fuel exploded and the fires burned, it's no surprise that they weren't recovered.

Most black boxes are located in the tail of the plane. Any plane, for it is the last impact zone. The zone most likely to be intact. There is also a recorder in the cockpit too. Both are made of the same casing material, And in every other case, the boxes were recovered and intact. I don't doubt the technology had been upgraded as the years go on.

Yes it would have been a lot of work to recover them. But would you not think it is worth it? With the black box, and cockpit recordings, you can get all the pilots speech, and many different data about how the plane flew, what went on when. Hell these things have been recovered at the bottom of the ocean.

They were recovered from the bottom of the ocean because the authorities needed to know what happened to the planes to prevent future accidents. There was no need to recover those boxes since the reason for the destruction of the planes is self evident. Truthies are the only ones who care about what is on the boxes and it is unlikely that these boxes would change their opinion about what happened.

To fly a plane, you need both a left wing and a right wing.

Agreed...even if the CVRs or FDRs had been recovered, and allegedly in secret FBI possession, their data would only be construed to further the Truthie movement, as in faked by the government or proof of government complicity.

But either way, it only takes a few guys to wire a building to explode.

Sheer bullshit. As been mentioned numerous times in this thread, large demolition projects (though much smaller than the Twin Towers would have been) require a lot of preparation and tons of material. It's a time-consuming task even with full and unimpeded access to an empty building. How much more difficult and time-consuming would it be for it to be done covertly, without any of the building's thousands of regular occupants from noticing anything unusual?

The notion that "just a few guys" could have planned and executed a controlled demolition of unprecedented scale is typical of the kind of assumptions that the Truthies take to be fact because "it just seems obvious."

What possible "evidence" do you imagine exists to establish the number of people required to pull of 9/11?
That would depend on the exact story line. If you claim, as many truthies do, that the planes themselves were faked then you have hundreds of collaborators were on each of those planes and at the alleged crash sites.

No truth seekers that I know of, postulate the "planes were faked".

Nadda one, zip, zero, zilch.

Riverwind, riverwind.......

the blackboxes should have been recovered, but, if one believes the crash was so devastating the fires so hot, then there isn't a way in heck the passport would miraculously survive.

You want to know the way 9/11 could have been conducted within the context of factions within a government, in collusion with other governments, NATO, and private business and individuals??? ( strategy of tension)

Read the two books, it's all there.

IMO, though Riverwind, "it'll rock" your delusion of a neat little orderly world.

little article on this extensive topic.

http://www.answers.com/topic/strategy-of-tension

strategy of tension (Italian: strategia della tensione) is a way to control and manipulate public opinion using fear, propaganda, disinformation, psychological warfare, agents provocateurs, as well as false flag terrorist actions (including bombings). According to historian Daniele Ganser, "It is a tactic which consists in committing bombings and attributing them to others. By the term 'tension' one refers to emotional tension, to what creates a sentiment of fear. By the term 'strategy' one refers to what feeds the fear of the people towards one particular group" [1].

The term was coined in Italy during the trials that followed the 1970s and 1980s years of lead, during which terror attacks and assassinations committed by neofascist terrorists (such as Ordine Nuovo, Avanguardia Nazionale or Fronte Nazionale) were committed. The terrorists were backed by intelligence agencies, the P2 masonic lodge and Gladio, a NATO secret "stay-behind" army officially set up to perform guerilla and resistance activities should Italy be successfully invaded by the Soviet bloc (there were equivalent armies in most Western states). Unmonitored by civilian agencies, Gladio members began to pursue their own right wing, anti-communist agenda using violent means, which included false flag bombings, blamed on extra-parliamentary left-wing militant organizations. Examples include the 1972 Peteano bombing, long thought to have been carried out by the Red Brigades, but for which the neofascist terrorist Vincenzo Vinciguerra has been imprisoned, the attempted assassination of former Interior Minister Mariano Rumor on 17 May 1973 or the 1980 Bologna massacre.

The aim of these actions was to make the public believe that the bombings were committed by a communist insurgency, to promote the formation of an authoritarian government, and to prevent the strong Italian Communist Party (PCI) from joining the ruling Democrazia Cristiana (DC) in a national unity government (the "historical compromise" between Aldo Moro and Enrico Berlinguer, respective leaders of the PCI and of the DC). An astonishing observation of the terrorism in Italy that was blamed on communists is that it coincided with election victories for the communists at the polls. So as the PCI was gaining popular support, the number of civilian-targeted bombings, random knee-cappings, and high-profile kidnappings blamed on communist terrorists increased markedly. Furthermore, starting with the 1969 Piazza Fontana bombing and the 1972 Peteano attack, several bombings carried out by the far-right were at first blamed on anarchists (for the first one) and, for the second one, on the Red Brigades (BR) — although it was later found that neofascists, such as Vincenzo Vinciguerra, had organized them.

1-Piazza Fontana's bombing, in December 1969, marked the beginning of the "strategia della tensione", which ended around the time of the Bologna railway station bombing in 1980. In 2000, a Parliamentary report from the Olive Tree coalition concluded that the strategy of tension followed by Gladio had been supported by the United States to "stop the PCI, and to a certain degree also the PSI, from reaching executive power in the country". Members of the Democratic Party of the Left (PDS), part of the Commission on Terrorism headed by senator Giovanni Pellegrino and created in 1988, have described the Italian peninsula since the end of World War II as a "country with 'limited sovereignty'" and as an "American colony" [2]

Piazza Fontana bombing

2-Bombing of Italicus train, August 4, 1974

August 4, 1974, 12 died and 105 were injured in the bombing of the train Italicus Roma-Brennero express at San Benedetto Val di Sambro.

3-1974 Piazza della Loggia bombing in Brescia

4-Bologna railway bombing, August 2, 1980

5-Assassination of General Dalla Chiesa

General Carlo Alberto Dalla Chiesa's murder, in 1982, by the mafia in Palermo is allegedly part of the strategy of tension. Alberto Dalla Chiesa had arrested Red Brigades founders Renato Curcio and Alberto Franceschini in September, 1974, and was later charged of investigation concerning Christian democrat leader Aldo Moro, assassinated in 1978.

Role of Italian Intelligence Services

In 1974, Vito Miceli, P2 member, chief of the SIOS (Servizio Informazioni), Army Intelligence's Service from 1969 and SID's head from 1970 to 1974, was arrested on charges of "conspiration against the state" concerning investigations about Rosa dei venti, a state-infiltrated group involved in terrorist acts. In 1977, the secret services were reorganized in a democratic attempt. With law #801 of 24/10/1977, SID was divided into SISMI (Servizio per le Informazioni e la Sicurezza Militare), SISDE (Servizio per le Informazioni e la Sicurezza Democratica) and CESIS (Comitato Esecutivo per i Servizi di Informazione e Sicurezza). The CESIS has a coordination role, led by the President of Council.

Others

Other examples include the Turkish branch of Gladio, Counter-Guerrilla, who followed a similar strategy in Turkey, leading to the 1980 military coup. Operation Condor in South America and events in Algeria during the 1990s. Stefano Delle Chiaie apparently had a hand in both what was happening in Italy and with Operation Condor, as he as met with Michael Townley (a US expatriate, DINA agent). It has been claimed that Delle Chiaie was involved in the murder of General Carlos Prats in Buenos Aires, Argentina on September 30 1974. Delle Chiaie, along with fellow extremist Vincenzo Vinciguerra, also testified in Rome in December 1995 before judge María Romilda Servini de Cubría that Enrique Arancibia Clavel (a former Chilean secret police agent prosecuted for crimes against humanity in 2004 [2]) and Michael Townley were directly involved in this assassination.[3].

The article has extensive links, but, it is a drop in the bucket, to information available, you know , factual historical information.

Imagine Riverwind the Italian gov, in collusion with the America gov and private factions inc. terrorist groups conspired to kill and terrorize the people of Italy, for 45 yrs and no one said a word, starting in 1940's until finally, this craziness was exposed in 2000. and even then?????And other countries also, As above Turkey, even DeGaulle (france)had a big issue, with the left-behind armies and NATO,CIA collusion, he saw them as destabilizing forces. He was right.

(9/11 could easily have been pulled off, in this same manner, heck it worked all that time, in numerous countries and no one said a word, while people died and were terrorized)

Did you know even at that time, the US was flying ME citizens ( Arab) into Italy, for terrorist training, at a CIA base in Italy?

Get some facts and some history.

The Pentagon, however, was NOT struck by a commercial jetliner. Footage shows a missile or fighter craft, and the damage just isn't right.
Which means you would need hundreds of people ready to move in immediately after the event to plant evidence of a plane crash.

Nonsense. You need a handful of after-the-fact investigators to 'find' what they are told.

You also would need a large number of collaborators to mak ethe real plane and all of the passengers on it disappear.

I thought you needed four hijackers with box cutters.

But whatever else, I'll tell you this ... passports do not survive experiences that destroy aircraft blackboxes.
You are assuming that you actually have the facts right. Even major media outlets make mistakes or misrepresent sources. For example, you have no idea where the passport was found or how much other debris ecaped incineration.

You need to carry passports to board flights.

If it wasn't found at the site, then why is that claim unchallenged.

If it wasn't found at the site, then how is it connected to the alleged hijackings?

You're grasping at straws. (And the question is why? What is you interest in thwarting truth about 9/11?)

Not much. Send them in dressed as cleaners late at night ... no problem over a few weeks.

You haven't heard of Judy Wood? That's pretty odd, she's considered something of an icon among the truthies. (I think you can find the Judy Wood folk-song on YouTube.)

Hey, maybe Judy Wood is a mole planted by the CIA to discredit the Truthies with her loony ideas!

Two members of the group, Judy Wood and Morgan Reynolds, left the Scholars due to disagreement with the organization, objecting in particular to the Scholar's rejection of their 'no plane' theories (theories arguing that no planes hit the World Trade Center).[34] However, st911 co-founder, co-chair and webmaster James Fetzer has recently spoken and written positively about Judy Wood's views - a piece by Fetzer on the st911 website argues that the Scholars should now broaden their research to consider the possibility that "directed energy...space based" weapons or "mini-nukes" were used to bring down the World Trade Center.[35] Steven E. Jones and others have criticised the mini-nuke claims.[36][37] Jones later resigned over the issue of the "star wars beam weapons" as a plausible theory.[38] Jones, co founder of Scholars for 9/11 Truth, agreed to retire from his position at Brigham Young University on Jan 1 2007. The university had put him on leave since September 2006 over concerns that his “research” and “papers” were not being peer reviewed [25].

A few weeks? Riverwind provided information earlier on showing that demolition of buildings that are dwarfed by the WTC takes months to execute properly.

If a normal situation requires months, then "a few guys" working nights and under the requirements of complete secrecy (ie, not just planting the explosives, but also concealing the explosives and the wiring) would have had to have started during the Ford administration. (link)

Figleaf aka sweal is not as smart as he thinks he is, but not as illogical as he sometimes appears. We used to think it was the impulsiveness of youth, but that was in 1997 and it hasn't changed a bit since, although his fits of reed gnashing rage seem to have been brought under control since then. He's in this battle because he's a leftwing ideologue, and since normal people tend to gravitate toward the right, and toward common sense in the case of 911, he feels the need to at least snipe from the woods on this issue. Press him, and he won't have an opinion to stand behind, but that doesn't stop him from mounting wee ankle-biting routines.

If it wasn't found at the site, then why is that claim unchallenged.
There were _four_ planes and some of the black boxes were recovered. There is a report of _one_ passport being found from 20 hijackers. Which plane did the passport come from? Were the boxes recovered from that particular plane? What other debris from the plane was recovered as well? You don't know the answer to any of these questions yet you engage in idle speculation about how finding a passport is 'fishy'. You are the one who is grasping at straws.

ROTFL. Thank you for proving that your claims are based on incomplete/incorrect information.

The data recorders from United 93 were found and they do completely support the theory that Muslim hijackers took over that plane.

Here is the final quotation from the cockpit voice recorder:

Not yet. When they all come, we finish it off." Jarrah later said, "Is that it? I mean, shall we put it down?" to which another hijacker replied, "Yes, put it in it, and pull it down," then later "Pull it down! Pull it down!" Jarrah forced the plane downward. The plane rolled upside-down and the four men said their final words. "Allah is the greatest! Allah is the greatest!"
A fragment of Jarrah's passport was also found in the wreckage.

I am sure you will claim that the recordings were 'fakes'. If you do then you simply prove my other claim that finding the other recorders would have been a waste of time and money.

You are simply trying to cover up your own ignorance. If had really known that some black boxes were recovered you would have not have asked for 'clarification'.

The CVR from United 93 demonstrates that there were Arabic speaking terrorists in the cockpit of that plane - most reasonable people would accept that as evidence that those planes were taken over by terrorists and that the widely accepted explaination is basically correct. Why do you ignore this evidence? Do you claim the CVR from Flight 93 was faked?

The passport figleaf was referring too, was found at WTC totally intact
I doubt you have any evidence that this claim is anything more than an urban legend started by an incorrect media report followed by endless repetition on truthies sites. Can you actually come up with a credible source that confirms this claim?

Jersey Girls Deliver Petitions, Request Support

September 11th Advocates

Regarding Declassification and Release of Documents

June 18, 2007

The Public's Right to Know - Declassification and Release of Documents petition (http://www.petitiononline.com/july10/petition.html) surpassed 15,000 signatures. As promised, we have hand delivered it to lawmakers in Washington, DC.

UPDATE

Recently, during our meetings with lawmakers, we discussed the declassification and release of all transcripts and documents relating to the July 10, 2001 meeting that took place between former CIA Director George Tenet and then National Security Advisor, Condoleezza Rice, the redacted 28 pages of the Joint Inquiry Into The Terrorist Attacks of September 11, 2001 (JICI) and the CIA Inspector General’s report, “CIA Accountability With Respect To The 9/11 Attacks”, as mentioned in the Petition.

Almost six years have passed since September 11, 2001, yet critical information continues to be withheld from the American public regarding the attacks. Included in this statement is an “Action Alert” and background information explaining the importance of transparency in our government.

Since there is currently active legislation (Wyden-Bond Amendment attached to bill #S.4) regarding the CIA Inspector General’s Report, we decided, for the moment, to focus our attention on this particular document.

After reviewing the evidence produced by the Joint Inquiry of Congress into the 9/11 Attacks, both Republican and Democratic Congressmen agreed that a CIA Inspector General review into individual responsibility was necessary. Faced with the facts, these Congressmen understood that accountability in the Intelligence Community was crucial. Their intent was that a final declassified CIA/IG report was to be released to the public and where deemed appropriate by the report, for personnel at all levels to be held accountable for any omission, commission, or failure to meet professional standards in regard to the events of September 11, 2001. Americans have the right to know that competent people are serving them in these strategic positions - our safety depends on it.

Then why don't you acknowledge that Arab speaking terrorists were on those planes and that fact supports the widely accepted version?
The Passport alleged to have been found was reported by Bernie Kerik
Lots of misinformation came out immediately after the event - he could have made mistake. Where are the follow up reports that confirm that this passport was indeed found? Is it mentioned in the 9/11 commission report?
From this link:
Back at the trade center, details of rescuers' grisly finds since Tuesday began to emerge. Among them were a pair of hands, bound together, found on a rooftop, authorities said.

The New York Times reported Saturday that one rescuer found the body of a flight attendant, whose hands were also bound. Another worker told the paper he had found the remains of people strapped to what seemed to be airplane seats.

The fact that they found intact bodies is conveniently omitted from truthie sites and is yet another illustration of how unreliable those sites are.

Please explain to me why finding an intact passport is hard to believe given the fact that they also found intact bodies? Or do you claim that that the stories about bodies are fakes?

Please explain to me why finding an intact passport is hard to believe given the fact that they also found intact bodies? Or do you claim that that the stories about bodies are fakes?

Nope, I don't claim anything, I already said, I leave that to you and the bush regime, to make nonsensical claims.

Your the one who disputed the claim of the passport being found.

Or made the claim it was made on a "truthie" website.

Like I said, I leave the ridiculous claims to you.

BTW: have I ever claimed there were no hijackers on planes?

NOPE!

You just keep reiterating the claim, like I did, could you show me where.

provide a link and quotation please.

Or stop putting words in my mouth.

You Keep saying "truthie" over and over and over, your like a propagandist. gotta implant the propaganda, through repetition, that's what GWB said also.

I'll wait for you to substantiate statements, you are falsely attributing to myself.

Insults are the ammunition of the unintelligent - do not use them. It is okay to criticize a policy, decision, action or comment. Such criticism is part of healthy debate. It is not okay to criticize a person's character or directly insult them, regardless of their position or actions. Derogatory terms such as "loser", "idiot", etc are not permitted unless the context clearly implies that it is not serious. Rule of thumb: Play the ball, not the person (i.e. tackle the argument, not the person making it).

You are completely incoherent. You agree that Arab hijackers were on those planes but you claim that the passports found at the the WTC were planted? Why do you expect anyone to take such nonsense seriously?

BTW I went and checked the 9/11 commission report and that did confirm that the passports were recovered at the WTC towers. However, your own link pointed out that the bodies of entire passengers were also found. That fact demonstrates that there is nothing unusual about finding the passports - if bodies could survive then so could passports. End of argument.

To fly a plane, you need both a left wing and a right wing.

So please explain to us what you think happened? Are you claiming that the US government hired a bunch of Arabs to kill themselves? If they did find those people then why would they bother to blow up the towers?

Truthies like you seem to think that slinging around random factoids constitutes an argument. I have yet to see a coherent explaination from any thruthie that addresses all of the facts available.

Riverwind: I have maintained, I do not believe the official story.

I have maintained based on numerous anomolies, a long history, of government fomented terrorism , etc,

Anyone in their right mind should question the 9/11 story.

Qui bono.

Oh and I do believe there were hijackers, okay?

That said, you self-create an arguement, out of thin air, and then you argue against it. You have done this numerous times, previously,

If you wish to discuss, discuss based on what someone ACTUALLY says.

Not what you say, someone says.

comprende?
