jdobbin Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 Sam Katz wins an election in Winnipeg, the next day he gets a divorce. Think we saw this in Nova Scotia after premier elect campaigned on family values. http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/30102006/3/cana...e-election.html Sam Katz won a massive victory partly because he was running against ope gay and two unmarried candidates. Many people saw him as the family guy. This was a dirty campaign that was fought. And now we are left to wonder if the mayor might have to bug out to Arizona to be near his children. Quote
Charles Anthony Posted November 1, 2006 Report Posted November 1, 2006 Is the premise that the electorate of Winnipeg are so easily fooled? Is the premise that the electorate of Winnipeg are so fickle that they judge a politician based on his marital status? I doubt that either of the above is true. The main concern was that he serve his term. Now his wife wants to move the children to Arizona and the mayor might have to spend time down there if he wants shared custody. Is he going to quit over this? One day after the election and we have to contemplate a new mayor? Quote
Canuck E Stan Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 Is he going to quit over this? One day after the election and we have to contemplate a new mayor? She indicated her monthly expenses are about $23,000. She has also asked the court to allow her and the children to live in their home in Scottsdale, Ariz.A hearing date is been set for mid-November. With the ex wanting $23,000 a month tells me there's a lot of money involved and probably a couple of years in the courts. I think his mandate as a mayor will end before this divorce finalizes.
