Jury got it right. But one of those "the process was the punishment" things where the attorney uses the full force of the law, bankruptcy with legal fees, etc as a means of punishing people based on skin color

Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow!

Logically, this makes no sense to me, that they would be deadlocked on a more serious charge and then unanimous on the lesser charge.

If someone thought he was guilty of manslaughter, how do they turn around and think he is innocent of a lesser charge?

Oh well on that, I am just glad common sense prevailed. I am sure DUI will be on here to gracefully concede... LOL

Also, if I am not mistaken, since the Judge dismissed the other charge... this is done. No more attempts to get him again.

This impacts a lot of people we have never heard about. Fortunately, this case was national news, and Penny had a huge war chest for his defense from that.

He still needs it for the civil case now.

LOL, when people have to tell you they are ignoring you...

I have a feeling that the lesser charge wasn't enough for the hold out so he/she knuckled under to get out of jury duty.

I mean, I guess being told by a guy (that's frantic and high) that he's going to kill you would make you uncomfortable.

But please do enlighten us. Who did Brian Thompson kill or threaten to kill?

Thank you for proving my point, albeit unwittingly.

Their political ideology is more important than the crimes they commit.

Same thing I've always done when a lunatic starts ranting and raving: turn up the volume in my headphones and keep an eye on the situation.

Crimes?

We support self-defense and oppose murder.

You guys are trying to conflate someone getting gunned down in premeditated murder on the streets with a dude acting in self-defense of himself and others when a crazy guy started making deadly threats and was attempted to be held down until police could arrive.

There is nothing honest about what you are doing here, then you try to say it is about political ideology on our part?

Yes, we already know you are a sheep, who will just sit there and do nothing to save yourself or others.

How many civilians did you kill in Iraq?

I understand. The sheepdog has sharp teeth and looks scary to sheep like you, but I will still protect you.

A false moral equivalence if ever there was one.
