Actually you are the ones who are f*cked. We don't feel we need to be armed to protect ourselves or turn our schools into armed fortresses. That said, a lot of this is window dressing because the great majority of firearms used in crimes in Canada are illegaly smuggled into the country by you lot and that is why Mexico is suing your gun manufacturers.

Oh noes they're gonna take away my machine gun... how will I protect myself from the Red Bogeyman?

Pointing out  your post is considered to be the epitome of Americanism. How's about we put a 100^ tariff on US goods unless you stop smuggling guns into Canada?

Ok. So when Trudumbass declares Marshall Law, don't expect us to come save you.

The long term goal of the Liberals is to disarm the Canadian people. And in the US there are clearly a lot of Democrats that do not support the Second Amendment.

Progressive politicians are just doing it in incremental steps.

Speak for yourself. I'm having my whole family licensed for firearms, and may even buy the kids crossbows for Christmas.

Toronto has become a crime riddled dumpster. I want my family to be able to defend themselves should they have to.

The US has more than 40,000 gun deaths in 2023. That is as many as Israel has killed in Gaza since the war began.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But you are not entitled to your own facts.

Traitor Trudeau trying to disarm law-abiding Canadian citizens and give those government stolen firearms to the Ukraine so that they can fight for their freedom?   Trudeau/tar 'n feathers.

The Ukraine War will be over in 2025. The Russians will conquer their land, since Trump is going to abandon them, just like he abandoned the Kurdish people in Syria, and the Afghani Government to the Taliban.

That is horrible parenting.

It's well known that people that own weapons (especially firearms), are more likely to use them on themselves, or friends/family members, than any intruder.

It is absolutely sick that one would go against the community like this. Nationalist should be ashamed.

The Liberals have squandered $67 million on the long gun buyback, not a single gun returned.

It's well know nearly all of gun crime involves handguns, not those scary looking black rifles that frighten the life out of Liberal snowflakes.

Now they're talking about giving them to Ukraine. The logistics involved would be horrendous.

All just another distraction from the current government screw ups.

"WE" Don't really tolerate it. Remember this government did not win the popular vote last election, they actually came in second but they won the most seats.

Ontario and Quebec tolerate them. And Ontario and Quebec make up about 50% of our population. That is slowly changing but that's the reality we face

We'll get the conservatives back in and then change all of those gun laws back to the where they were. Which is exactly what we had to do last time.

Canada would be a great place if Ontario and Quebec did not exist

You're phkd because you live in Canada which will never get it's act together because we have a Marxist dictating clown in Ottawa running and destroying this once great country. The yankee is right? We are all phkd here in Canada.

Try and get back into your own lane because you are way over the center line yourself, Canuck boy. 🤡

We are a clown country alright. We have to tolerate what is going on here in Canada because we are being forced to live with this Marxist bullshit nonsense and because we have a Marxist dictator in Ottawa that is running and trying to destroy this once great freedom loving country. The way this Marxist keeps trying to ban guns, pretty soon, we will not be allowed to own any guns at all. The Marxists in Ottawa win, and we the sheeple lose, again.

We need a Donald Trump to be the leader of this country. We only have one hope left for freedom and the right to bear arms and that is the Conservative party wins in the next Canadian election in Oct. 2025, and that is if the Marxist in Ottawa does not try to interfere in the election. Communists do not like to give up their power and control over the we the people.

The CP party in Canada is leading in the polls. Let us hope that does not change or else you may just be getting a lot of Canadians running for the American border and asking for asylum. Those running for the border will be a bunch of good guys. 😇

How many people know the U.N. is behind the gun bans.  Canada is a key part of the U.N. and often does whatever it decrees.  Recently Canada even supported the ICC order to arrest the PM and former defence minister of Israel.

What people don't know is there is a history of gun bans in the world followed by genocide.  The U.N. claims individuals do not have the right to self-defence.  They will tell you that only governments have the right to defend you.

If they want to make that claim, then we should think about the up to 15 million people killed by the Communists in the Soviet Union, the millions killed in China by the Communists, the genocide in Cambodia following gun bans, and other countries that imposed gun bans before committing genocide against the people.

There are lots of articles describing these historical facts.

"The international gun prohibition lobbies and their United Nations allies insist that there is no personal right of self-defense--that people should be forced to rely exclusively on the government protection. The prohibitionists also insist that there is no human right for people to possess the means of self-defense, such as firearms. But what are people supposed to do when the government itself starts killing people? The genocide in Darfur, Sudan, is the direct result of the types of gun laws which the United Nations is trying to impose all over the world. Millions of people have already died because of such laws, and millions more will die unless the U.N. is stopped."

How is this going to keep our country safer....Liberals/NDP already banned thousands of rifles, and gun crimes have increased over that period....and it is not from legal gun owners...i really surprised at the lack of knowledge on Canada's gun laws this nation has some of the strictest polices out there and it is still not enough...

I like to know how many of those chirping for more gun bans are gun owners... most likely none, so your chirping becasue you got no skin in the game...so F#ck ya lets ban them all...mean while millions of Canadians do own fire arms..lots of them....and the rest of the responders are chirping becasue they feel the need to stick up for Canada for some reason....becasue an American feels we are f*cked no other reason....you feel attacked, can't stand up for those millions of Canadians that do like fire arms...screw them throw them under the bus....You don't own firearms fine Thats your call, but some of us do and enjoy them, and use them responsibly we are not your threat, criminals are.........your just swallowing the liberal kool aid...and i thought we were smarter than that...nope not really...

Ya, the most thoughtful and reasonable conclusion you could come up with eh?

I love the timing of this grab though, tactically I would have done the same thing in their place. It's an easy wedge issue and there's more of those to come IMO. The announcement and implementation dates are as tactically sound as they are cynical... the message is vote for us or you're at risk of being shot and that message clearly resonates with those who haven't taken the time to thoroughly research the issue.

It reminds me of the Covid debacle... people with the strongest opinions always seem to be the most ill informed and it only takes a few basic questions to out them.

As an aside, when it comes to archery I'm a bare bow guy, not much use for compounds and cross bows with range pins and scopes on them. Bullseye after bullseye is boring and I don't bother with them for that reason, but that's just me.

We sometimes have open houses at our range and it's fun taking an anti firearms acquaintance who has never fired a handgun, rifle, or used a bow. All of the folks I've taken thoroughly enjoyed the outing... some have gone back with me for a second helping and all of them said they now understand why I spend so much time, effort and money on an activity they previously found too appalling to even consider trying.

In a similar vein, I always ask these folks what firearms regulation they  would invoke if they were the King of Canada for a day. Invariably they will come up with one that already exists and they're surprised to find out that it's more restrictive than what they had in mind.

For those who don't get it, here's the draw (at least for me)... in short It's a demanding skill that can only be achieved with attention to detail. Martial arts are analogous here, especially anatomically centric ones like BJJ and Aikido. Even the loudest of loons aren't suggesting that people with black belts in both disciplines are the ones mugging old ladies

Consistently achieving groupings under 4 inches with a bare bow at 20 metres and beyond will take you a while to achieve and some effort to maintain. If it were easy, I wouldn't bother doing it.

There's a delicious irony in all of this that's utterly lost on liberal loons who think that duck hunters from PEI are the ones shooting up the streets of Toronto...the safest place they could possibly be in Toronto is at a sanctioned IPSC competition.

Here's another safety irony that defies logic IMO: the AR15 is so damn dangerous that it can only be safely stored in the hands of those people who already own them.

The phrase "assault style rifle" is another fascinating construct that has loon feathers attached to it. If it doesn't have selective fire it isn't an assault rifle any more than your pickup truck qualifies as a F1 race car by virtue of adding racing stripes. And, (AND)... they've been fu^%$#@ illegal in Canada for years.

So who exactly do you think you're fooling here?

There are exactly zero countries in the world currently using semi automatic rifles with five round magazines as a main battle rifle. On the plus side though, sending these critters to Ukraine is exactly the sort of effort Ukrainians have come to expect from virtue signalling progressive Canadian loons who lack clue one.

the thing to understand about Canada,  is that Canada is vastly more urbanized than America

the population is extremely concentrated in around the cities of Toronto & Montreal

and there's nothing like the Electoral College in Canada

so basically, if you can win greater Toronto & Montreal in an election,

you can control the rest of the country from there

it would be as if you only had to appeal to voters in New York City & Los Angeles in order to rule in America
