Awwww  Little @ExFlyer Got upset at the truth and is all mad that someone is complaining about teachers spreading hatred and promoting terrorists!

So he gave me a little down arrow  :)  I guess that's his way of saying I'm angry you're right but I'm too much of a coward to make a counter argument :)

It's only about equality when he agrees with the person. Not what he disagrees. Have you even MET the left?

People will deal with this without you far-reaching hotheads posting about it, I assure you.  The number of liberal Jews in the TDSB can attend to this with a soft touch....

Oh look, our resident "conservative" lefty is pulling his usual "Why are we even talking about this?" routine.

Nothing intelligent to say, nothing useful to add, ever takes a position, never starts a thread, biatches about everyone else who does.

Mike, I never believed in ghosts until I met you. But you are proof that something of absolutely no substance can actually talk.

All I see is a tweet with no evidence it came from the TDSB.

Reading from their website, it seems they are equally committed to combatting both anti-Palestinian racism and antisemitism, and racism of all types.

No kidding... the TDSP has to walk that fine line and they are able to do it most of the time.

People with their guns out for "the TDSP' have naked motives.  They should be ignored as agitators from the sticks... sorry folks...

But that's not what was in the handout is it. And it's not the first time they've been caught at it

Boy you sure spend an awful lot of time begging and begging people not to listen to anyone you disagree with.

Whatever happened to civil discourse? What about all those times you whined and cried about how horrible it was that we can't even have a discussion anymore. Yet your first instinct with anyone who says anything you don't like it's either put them on ignore or to demand that nobody listens to them. You do it constantly

This is why the left is losing ground these days. This level of ignorance and lowbrow thinking is simply not acceptable to most people. The kind of tribalism and denialism that we see from Michael here is a prime example of why nobody trusts the left and why the woke is becoming detested

Let's have a little moment for the Jews here...

The single most abused ethnic group in Canada since forever...

Nobody I know will speak out on either side of the current Israeli-Palestinian clash...

But the ONLY people I see talking about it, very bravely, online are my liberal Jewish friends.  Whether or not you agree with their stance, it says something about the bravery and outspokenness and social consciousness of Jewish people.  They have to socialize, pray, and celebrate with members of their own group who are violently opposed to their views and they still do it.

I expressed my reluctance to speak out on this conflict in public, albeit with my usual reserved tones, and a centrist Jewish friend of mine, Jazz musician, said ... "Don't worry about it.  The liberal Jews we know are going to post about it online."

I felt like a bit of a coward, but I still didn't post about it.

Thank G_d for them.

Well you've got the coward part right. The rest is obviously a fiction

But it is absolutely true that you are traditionally afraid to take a stance on anything, you simply berate other people for their stances without actually offering an opinion of your own one way or another. So that tracks

Why do you think that the Jews are the most abused ethnic group in Canada? What did they do to deserve this abuse?

Well? As usual, MH will once again ignore me. What a coward you really are, MH.

Who's with me ? @DUI_Offender ?

My experiences with Jews, growing up in Winnipeg, were always positive. I lived in a predominantly Jewish area of the city in my late teens/early 20s, and worked one summer at a Jewish camp. I was always impressed to see a group of people that has been persecuted so much throughout history, always remain positive, and have such a good outlook at life.

I'm not a fan of the Israeli Government, or what they have been doing for the past year. However, it's very telling that 99% of the protests in the Western World are against Israel, and the attacks on Jews have increased dramatically. Yet conflicts that have been arguably more deadly (Ukraine, Syria, Kurdistan, Armenia, Sudan, Yemen), and barely are even mentioned, let alone have people marching against Russia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, etc..

Yes, people seem to be very selective about what they protest - I agree with that.  You can say that without even taking into account the facts of what happened.

How about the post above mine - seriously asks what the Jews did to "Deserve" this ?  Presumably not worshiping Christ.  Did we have a single post on here suggesting the civilians at the WTC "deserved" the attacks of Sept 11th ?  I do not think so... Instead the same suspects accused "zionists" of being part of yet another conspiracy.

Antisemitism is pervasive...

Antisemitism is pervasive...

Antisemitism has been ingrained in Judeo-Christian society for centuries, going back to Medieval Europe, where they were not allowed to own land, and confined to living in ghettos. Jews were blamed for pretty much all the problems in Europe- from capitalism to communism.  Even in Manitoba in the 20th century, Jews were not allowed to own cabins on the east side of Lake Winnipeg, and were not allowed to live in a wealthy Winnipeg suburb, until the 1960s.

It's not surprising at all that the worst literature on Jews were imported to the Arab World from Europe (mainly Nazi Germany), and in many cases, were taught in public schools throughout the Arab World.  Antisemitism has intensified for the past 20 years, as a result of the increasing number of Arabs and Muslims in Western countries, especially Germany, France, and the UK.

Not really. The anti Jew protesters and people like yourself who enable them aren't complaining about violence. In fact if they had their way there would be considerably more violence, just directed at the Jews.

What they are attempting to do is put political pressure in place to help them win political concessions. These are paid Bad actors, not people of good morals who are out protesting something they don't believe in.

This war hasn't gone well for them at all. They expected to kill a few thousand Israelis, have maybe twice that killed of their own people and then the UN step in as it always does and put a halt to things. But they didn't and now hamas and Gaza are getting what they had coming to them for what they started.

They must be extremely upset. And now trump is about to get in and I suspect things will get worse for Hamas and their backer Iran shortly thereafter

I am not sure exactly what the Palestinians were thinking with the Oct.7 terrorist attack, I am 100% positive they did not expect Israel to raze the entire region. Classic case of FAFO.

Incidentally, I watched a documentary of Osama Bin Laden recently, about his final years. It was a very interesting documentary. It pretty much stated that Bin Laden lived his final years deeply regretting the 9/11 attack. Perhaps he was misinformed, but he underestimated American resolve and military strength.

Apparently, Al Quada was under the impression that after 9/11, the Americans would withdrawal from the region (Middle East), and he never anticipated the United States to launch a prolonged attack on Afghanistan.  He certainly never expected the Americans to hunt him down in the mountains of Pakistan, and kill him.

If you look at the historical pattern the Palestinians will attack Israel and kill a small number of people, And then retreat behind their population. Israel counter-attacks  and inevitably kills a few thousand and the un freaks out and steps in to stop things, and hamas gets a whole bunch of funding and concessions as a result.

Where they screwed up this time was they didn't just kill a few dozen or even a hundred, they killed well over a thousand and in an absolutely horrible fashion. So the UN did not step in right away to end things as they normally would.

And now it's out of control, their leaders are being hunted and killed and they're not sure how to end this.

They went too far and now all they can do is sort of ride it out.  I suspect iran will be cutting them off soon and then they'll basically lose gaza.  I doubt there's any end to this that doesn't involve israeli occupation of gaza for the foreseeable future.

Hardly surprising. The radical left assumed control of the Canadian education system decades ago. Truth and respect for opposing views are always the first victims of the left. The left will never admit that Islam is a violent ideology masquerading as a religion. Muslims are the present day Nazi's.

What are the opinions of liberal Jews on this conflict?  Are they critical of Netanyahu and have some sympathies to the Palestinians?  Are some anti-Zionist?
