Trump Promises 'All Hell to Pay in the Middle East' if Hostages Aren't Released

“Those responsible will be hit harder than anybody has been hit in the long and storied history of the United States of America,” the president-elect says

You can say what you like about trump, but you can't say that he's vague or indecisive  

The interesting thing is he refers to the middle east, and those responsible, he doesn't say Hamas or gaza. It certainly leaves the door open that he's talking about Iran and sending a shot across their bow that if they don't get there proxies under control they will be the ones getting hit.

Oh there's still bits of it left. But I think he was thinking more along the lines of targets in Iran and other locations.

The way I see that, he's not talking to the puppets in Hamas - most of them are dead now - he's talking to the people in Iran who are pulling all of the strings. 

He never said a word about Hamas there, and he specifically broadened his line of speech to "the Middle East". 

It's Iran that instantly made friends with Pakistan on the day that they were partitioned, while the country was still knee-deep in the blood of a massive 800,000-person genocide, and then always contended that Israel's partition, which resulted in 500 Palestinians being killed, means that all 10M Jews must be exterminated like rats.

If you hate the Israel-Hamas war, or any stage of it for the past 80 years, Iran is mostly to blame. 

Right now, as a result of Israel's latest round of attacks which took out Iran's radar and anti-aircraft capabilities, Iran is almost entirely undefended from the air. Trump can make death threats against Iranian leadership and all they can do is try to hide. 

But Hamas is also very closely allied with other countries like Qatar and Yemen, and they have the tacit support of places like Lebanon who openly harbour massive terrorist organizations.

Is Trump even threatening Hamas at all, or is he talking almost exclusively to other countries? 

I don't think that piling on against Palestinians right now is a good look for America, and I think that Iran's nuclear capabilities probably need tending to. 

How likely is Trump to target people/organizations in:

1. Hamas only
2. Iran
3. Qatar
4. Yemen
5. Lebanese gov't
6. Hezbollah
7. other?

Thoughts?

I can't help but wonder if the US will also target certain people from Yemen, Qatar, Pakistan and Lebanon. Afghanistan is right between Pakistan and Iran....

Very true. It puts immense pressure on iran and Hamas to look for a resolution right away because the clock is ticking. So far Biden's signaling has just been to put Israel under pressure and slow walking aid so they can't take the actions they need to.

And they know damn well that trump has no fear of hitting Iran. And after all the times they've tried to kill him recently I imagine it won't take much in the way of excuses to give him a reason to send some of that leadership to Allah to explain themselves

Well the nice thing is the way he worded it whether he is or he isn't all those people from Yemen, Qatar, Pakistan and Lebanon as well as Afghanistan Are going to be WONDERING if he meant them    They'll be more likely to try and stay off his radar between now and inauguration day.

But I agree with you that Iran is likely to be first and foremost in his crosshairs
