Trump picks Florida sheriff Chad Chronister for DEA administrator

This is an awful pick. Let's start with this:

He violated the First Amendment because of a wrong minded executive order. He does not hold the conviction to protect rights. He allowed himself to be convinced to be a tyrant, "for the greater good." His lack of moral fortitude makes him a horrible pick.

It is also being reported that he supports Red Flag laws. Those are laws that suspend the rights of citizens for unsubstantiated reports. Those laws are clearly a violation of the Constitution. A theme that seems to be part of his resume.

This is interesting. He is, at least, one of the few announced nominations who has a resume in the ballpark for the job.

The other stuff you list is exactly what Trump values in his appointees though. Not sure why this one's commitment to an executive rather than to core values bothers you. It's not an outlier.

This 100% depends on how those laws are written.

If they were such a clear violation of the Constitution, they would be failing legal challenges in the courts.

Most, if not all, at least all of the ones I have reviewed, have a process in place that involves more than a mere unsubstantiated report, they provide a legal means to challenge them, and can also include clear concise timeframes to restore gun possession.

These are the kinds of laws that make sense when we sit around talking about how everyone knew some deranged guy was deranged and they reported him to the police and then they didn't do anything... well, this allows police to do something.

LOL, when people have to tell you they are ignoring you...

I'd rather see this department just go away; that and DHS as well as the FBI. The US Marshals should be able to handle this stuff.

Right. He has the experience and credibility to merit the job. Even if I think the direction is insane.

The contrast between these sorts of nominees and Hegseth, Gaetz or McMahon is extreme. Even MAGA faithful should be able to see. It should be alarming.

Yeah, the only thing that he should be a candidate for is jail. Lock the sonofab1tch up. No joke. F'ing weasel.
