Was Trudeau's jaunt to see Trump just another waste of taxpayer money?

Trudeau jaunts around the world every week at taxpayer expense.  The latest jaunt was last night when he went to Florida to talk with Trump.  Trudeau has given no detailed report of what the trip accomplished and it appears the 25% tariff is still Trump's plan.  So what did this taxpayer-funded trip accomplish?  Nothing it appears.  Just another way to get attention in the media as Trudeau struggles to regain some support that has been lost.

Canada is not going to get any assurances

but so long as Canada redoubles its efforts at the border at the behest of President Trump

I would expect that the 25% tariffs will be rescinded

this is in fact an opportunity for Trudeau to get himself back into the game

because if Trudeau can make himself into the Trump Whisperer

that would actually put "fight fire with fire" Pierre Poilievre in the position of being the problem

the smartest thing the Liberals could do at this juncture, is to cozy up to the Trump Administration

because the "Canada First" position is self defeating.  Canada is never going to win that war

Canada is not East Germany using borders to keep people IN. It's up to the USA to control it's own border.

Neither is it Mexico enabling the crossing of migrants from other countries and encouraging business to relocate their with lower standards, taxes and labour.

As for Blackbird trying to turn everything possible negative, I think the biggest waste of money is your computer access.
Wanna be negative about that trip - call it a spineless act of suckholism. So far it's only DonOld's dim brain and fat lips flapping again.

Trudeau opened Canada's border to all sorts of nefarious basterds who promptly headed south. Trump is responding.

If that were Biden responding you would have been megaphoning the praise from the rooftops.

Visiting Trump sounds like a good idea.  Better to have good relations with the guy when he takes power.  He's going to be the POTUS, so it doesn't matter if Trudeau doesn't like him personally or politically.

Maybe Trump was pleased that Leblanc said he was going to prevent Chinese drugs from coming to the United States, but that's hypocrisy, because Canada and the United States are self-sufficient when it comes to drugs. Hypocrisy is one of the main reasons why the public no longer wants to know anything about Trudeau.
