Ouch. Maybe screen some of the opening acts before letting them speak for your campaign.

Quote

Comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, one of the openers for former President Donald Trump at his Madison Square Garden rally on Sunday, referred to Puerto Rico as “a floating island of garbage,” a joke that drew immediate criticism from Democrats and several Republicans—and led Trump’s campaign to distance itself.

The attack ad write themselves. If the goal is to court the Latino vote away from the Dems, I would suggest this backfired in their face.

I actually thought this dude was pretty funny on the Tom Brady Roast. . . but that's a roast, not a political rally.

They also let this gasbag speak:

I see this guy grifting on Instagram. If that's the type of dude the Republican party wants to represent them, it's not a party of the people.

It's OK. Anyone who matters knows that the Harris/Walz ticket is toilet paper. It was cool evening.

A D-list hate comic at a Trump rally? That all checks out.

The thing is, this isn't just a random comic doing material online. It's not somebody who just showed up to open mic night at MSG. This is someone the campaign went out of their way to recruit and vet for this special event. To literally represent the campaign. And he does.

An event that promotes racism and hate against minorities, homosexuals and political opponents, picks a date that just happens to be the 85th anniversary of the largest Nazi rally ever held in North America (also at MSG).

Must be just a coincidence.....

He seems to be goading the American public by becoming more loathsome and disgusting at each opportunity. Does he expect to win by offending as many people as possible? Counting on the majority of voters to be a$$holes as big as himself?

Most MAGA CULT members qualify in spades.

It probably won't have much impact, but it's the kind of error you just can't afford in the final week or two of a campaign this this tight. He was scoring points because of the democrats and their Hitler comments which are ridiculous and now this is all anybody's going to talk about when it comes to this particular event.

He's got to finish stronger than that

Well, Flaketards are offended by everything and we already know that your vote is being wasted on Harris, so you don't matter.

The event was just fine. ;)

Sure. A roast comedian is gonna roast.

It's speaks to the Trump Campaign and their judgement that they thought that a person like this would appeal to voters.

Especially Latino voters.

On a lighter note, today's polling shows that Harris has increased her lead in Michigan and Wisconsin in the last 48 hours, and has a 0.3% lead in Pennsylvania. If she wins these 3 states, she will be President.

The fallout from the MSG rally has shifted the momentum back in Harris favor.

Jon Stewart loved it and he's pretty far left.

He's also a comedian.

He was one of the best parts of the Tom Brady roast.

All that doesn't negate the fact that calling Puerto Rico a floating pile of garbage is politically ignorant.

It's also defined the coverage of Trump.

That's how his campaign is ending.

Yes, Trump will drive the United States into the worst depression since the 1930s, with his bizarre tariff war against the Chinese. It's paramount that America ignores silly issues, like Transgenders that literally affect nobody, and concentrate on Trumps personal and Presidential record, both of which he has failed at.

Not sure you watched the Stewart clip you posted. Funny at a roast ≠ appropriate for politics.

A roast is meant to be voluntary vile and awful. Politics is meant to be unifying and inspiring. Not divisive and derisive. It was wrong. It was a mistake. Potentially a very costly mistake.

I saw what was there.

I'm only disappointed that he didn't go deeper into his repertoire of hateful, racist "jokes," so that more people could hear the wakeup call of what MAGA is all about.

You guys are so dishonest.

Who do you think you are fooling here?

What next, going to tell us all about the Dave Chappel audience... and what they are all about?

You MISSED his comparison to Queen B without songs which he criticized.

AKA he believes the "roast" was a mistake and said "what did they expect....". Duh

You missed the point. When he was talking about Beyonce v the comedian he was saying the comedian roasts people, that's his job. Roasts are not born of hate. Roasts are born or respect, admiration or love and poke fun at the object of said emotions.

But YOUR OPINION doesn't matter. What matters is whether it appealed to PR VOTERS in PA.

I'm betting they won't appreciate their homeland being called a GARBAGE HEAP.

The BUTT of "jokes" often find them INSULTING, NOT FUNNY.

The more the MAGA CULT laughs, the more INSULTED they will be.
