Just as aggressive tyranny has been rising around the world. With those trampites, one just having big, serious trouble getting whose nets, and hands they are playing into.

Buyer beware.

He has made clear it isn't his priority, nor should it be. His economy should be his priority.

Right. Vlad and Xi will take it into account, of course. Buyers: beware. With the trumpist folk you just can't know it.

PP will commit to nothing

Makes me wonder what he is all about except uncomplaining. He is very good at deflecting but, that is what politicians do LOL

The play has run its course to the conclusion: in the system that is absolutely devoid of accountability, by intent too, first generations of public governments maybe believed in some lofty words and traditions; the following ones not so much but still tread the line out of a habit. And by now they have realized that they aren't really bound by anything and have no obligations and responsibilities to anyone.

Congrats to us. We have arrived.

  1. Learn the language
  2. What % of the GDP does Trudeau spend on defence?
  3. I thought it was supposedly evil when Trump asked NATO allies to meet their requirements... Which side are you on?

I wonder the same thing, but at the same time it's probably smart to keep things policy-light.  There have been a lot of politicians over the years lose what look to be unlosable elections by making themselves the centre of attention on deeply unpopular issues.  John Tory and Tim Hudak ran masterclasses on that, so Poilievre is probably better sitting back and watching the Liberals hit the bottom of the ocean without any assistance.

Well that's one of the dumbest Canadian games pretending that both benevolent world and a shiny future are assured and guaranteed. But the wake up from centuries-old slumber can be heavy and at times, painful. Eroding NATO right now (and surely other buddies won't miss the precedent) is one of the dumbest things one could possibly do.

Remember, NATO Charter makes no guarantees that anyone will defend Canada.

Early on in my career one of my bosses said that you will go a lot farther if you have a fee solutions to all your complaints and, that is what I do not see with PP.
While I understand what you say, don't show the entire house till you come up with cash, you still need to sell it (or yourself).

Right now, all that comes is complaints and criticism...no solution or even vague ideas.

So mytata saying PP won't commit to 2%, well, he does not commit to anything.

Oh and, no government ever said they would spend 2% to NATO

Not just vague - often just really dumb.  Ooh wow great.  You're not going to participate in the WEF.  That will solve so many of our problems.  🙄

Tell you what.

You tell me what Canada's financial situation is, deficit debt everything else trudeau might do over the next year or commit us to,  and THEN PP can tell you how he'll address it.

You literally are complaining that someone can't commit to how he will address a situation he has no way of knowing at this point.  What if there's a massive recession or depression next year due to trudeau's bungling? What trudeau's next budget has 300 billion dollar deficits to try to keep the ndp happy?  Or what if he balances the books some how? Or they balance themselves?

Think any of that might affect the plan?

You would have to be 10 different kinds of stupid to commit right now to ANYTHING until you see what the situation is when the election is actually called.  That doesn't mean he doesn't have plans or ideas, but it DOES mean he's not making commitments before he knows what's going on .

And that's what a good leader SHOULD do

The side of Canadians, not Trump suckholes.
WHo think NATO is like a Trump Golf Course with membership fees/

So is it good or bad that Trump wants NATO countries to put up their 2%?

Some say "He's a NATO bully so other countries hate him", but then those exact same people all say "Give a bunch of stuff to Ukraine for free"... Well, if those countries didn't get the nudge from Trump, they'd have nothing to give way....

I don't wanna know what kind of targets and requirements you had with your "daddy".

It creeps me out the way that leftists make out with their dads and shower with them.

Actually he did say he was going to cut  foreign aid, , and give that funding back to the military, while it is not going to get us to 2 %, it is billions more than they have right now...

We, the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have now done so much for so long with so little, we are now capable of doing anything with nothing.

but since no other Canadian party is going to spend the 2% neither

that makes it a wash, and so irrelevant in the context of Canadian politics

the Canadian electorate is not prepared to spend the 2%, this is reflected by the political parties

The military will get more, when he is in. Imo. But and maybe the vets here can tell me if I'm wrong. But they need ammo, trucks, better barracks, better pay, higher recruitment, sleeping bags. The little things. While purchasing the big stuff.

Just like Daddy

it is a REQUIREMENT.  It is in our contract agreement with Nato.  Nato countries are REQUIRED to maintain that level.

And we signed that committment.

Do you understand the difference between keeping your word and lying to/freeloading off others?

Oh right. You're left wing. Of course you don't.

I don't appreciate brave patriots playing lofty tunes also blatantly misleading public (yes there's a shorter word), like some Vlad or you know who. While I'm no fan, the statement above is factually incorrect:

Trudeau commits to NATO spending target (BBC)

If it's you or them, the truth is equidistant
