Alberta’s updated bill of rights will include right to refuse vaccination, Danielle Smith confirms | True North (tnc.news)

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith says the fall update to the province’s bill of rights will protect Albertans’ personal medical decisions, including the right to refuse a vaccine.

Smith’s pledge came during a town hall in Bonnyville with over 300 UCP members, where she discussed strengthening residents’ liberties and freedoms, lowering taxes, protecting the province from federal overreach, and improving healthcare.

Smith confirmed the plans in a statement to True North.

“In the fall, we will be introducing legislation to amend Alberta’s bill of rights. Several amendments are being considered to strengthen Albertans’ individual and property rights, including an amendment to guarantee Albertans the right to accept or refuse a medical treatment,” she said.

Before becoming premier in 2022, Smith pledged to amend the Alberta Human Rights Act to prohibit employers from terminating employees based on their vaccination status, but she ultimately scrapped these plans after she was elected.

Bet if we kept pushing we could get that federally.  At the very least in more provinces.

Yeah pander to wackos, increase medical costs and risk everyone else's health. That's real important

No no - repression of rights is FAR more critical.  We can't have anyone thinking that FREEDOM is some sort of "good idea", they must understand that ONLY the left can tell them the right thing to do!!

Never mind the fact everyone already has whatever right Marjorie Taylor Greene is trumpeting.

Danielle Smith I meant.... I'm always getting these two mixed up.

You were mixed up before anyone mentioned either of them.

But no, they don't. Many people were fired because they didn't want the vaccine.  Now that won't be lawful.

But hey- thanks' for pretending you're paying attention anyway.

Sorry, but you should have the right to choose what you put in your body.

While refusing some vaccines is unwise, its a choice that someone should lawfully be allowed to make.

And others should have the right to choose whether they have to associate with you.

Everyone is allowed that - even more to the point, no one is allowed to stick a needle in you without your consent.

Yeah no need to vax people who work in the virology lab. The Blood of Jesus will protect them from SmallpoxX9.
Meet your new classmate Mobutu, his family moved to Alberta as they wouldn't be mandated to take the Ebola or Marsburg vaccine....

So you're employer can't fire you. They'll just have to suspend you without pay next pandemic. Or maybe Danielle will pay their WCB premium increase from her own pocket.

Did you want to get under your bed where it's safe?  We'll slide some food and a flashlight under there for you now and again.

Stay home if you're afraid then.

Thats fair.

You shouldn't be allowed as a government, to shame such people for them choosing to follow their lawful rights.

Worse even, associating them with extremists, because you don't agree with them.

I know tons of people who didn't get the covid vaccine. And?

I know people who disowned relatives for this.

Go for it.

It still doesn't entitled you to bully them, or to make it impossible for them to get access to the basics.

Their rights isn't short for "they are entitled to them, as long as I approve of it".

You mean like associating public officials and governments with mass murdering dictatorships because of something you saw on Infowars?

So let all the vaxxed workers stay away from you and you can depend on those who haven't been.

Or supporting the terrorist slaughter of civillians women and children because of something you heard about 1948?

The vaccine didn't stop people from getting covid except very early on, It was already largely useless for that by beta and completely entirely useless by gamma.

The vaccine's claim to fame is you wouldnt' get sick enough to die.

At this point almost everyone everywhere has had covid. Something like 85 - 90 percent of the population. It was already at 55 by 2022.

They were just as likely to get covid from vaxxed people.

Besides - they could always wear their masks :)

So if they didn't want to follow the science...  I guess that's their choice right? :P
