"Manitoba premier urges Trudeau to move up NATO spending timeline to save Canada-U.S. relationship"

Now this is a surprise coming from an NDP Premier.  The NDP are normally leftists and pacifists.  But he is absolutely correct.  If we want to be taken seriously in the world and accepted as a trustworthy partner by our allies, particularly the U.S., we need to step up and keep to our NATO commitment of at least 2% of GDP spending for the Canadian Forces.  The Manitoba Premier should be commended for his stand on NATO.

I think you realizes that it's something that many in his province would want. As much as I don't particularly like the guy the fact is there are politicians who do listen to their people even if their people's wishes aren't precisely what they might agree with.

And yes he's correct. I'm really surprised NATO isn't putting even more pressure on us.

They don't have the backbone to.

That gets thrown out the water when Trump gets the nod.

He will demand it and call us out for coming up short.

I must admit, Wab Kinew is an example of how people can change.

It only seems like yesterday when he was a woman-beating drunk driver, who tried to be a gangster rapper.

Wab is a hero to anyone who has ever been convicted of  DUI.

Aside from that, it has been proven that Wab could drive drunk much better than his inter-provincial nemesis, Scott Moe. At least Wab never killed anyone.

"call us out' . . . as he should.  Too many left wing whackos happy to stand in the shadow of our neighbor and their defence influence, yet look down their brown noses when it comes to homeland defence.  Smug bastiges . . .

That is both accurate and disturbingly graphic.

Do you really think that the premiers are going to make a difference in federal matters, better yet this issue......Our military did not get this way in just 8 years justin has been here...Sure he could of done a lot more than he did, which is not much...but we can't pin all of this on Him, ( no i'm not converting to liberalism)  Thats right the Conservatives have earned a share of that humble pie as well...and lets not forget every Canadian citizen...yes you own a huge bite of this sh!t sandwich as the outgoing CDS has put it...

We have sat back and watched as government after government passed on defense to give Canadians' social programs that help the few and punish the rest with higher bills and taxes..We as a nation built this sh!t sandwich ...we can complain and whine all day and night...but until we are willing to stand up and make it a priority NOTHING is going to happen or change...

And for the conservatives out there , PP is not going to making sweeping changes, and dump massive amounts of funding into DND into reaching 2 %   don't get me wrong it happens in my dreams but this is reality.........yes he has said he is going to make some cuts here and there and put that into DND ...but incased you missed it to get to 2 % , we need well over 30 bil in extra spending every year....How many social programs are we willing to cut to get those numbers...my bet is zero...because we are like that....The only way we would spend that kind of funding if NATO threatened to kick us out of the club....and even then we would him and haw.....

We, the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have now done so much for so long with so little, we are now capable of doing anything with nothing.

If the Dork Trump becomes Predident, he will seek retribution by punishing Canada with Trade penalties.
Even though Canada-US trade and NATO are two entirely different issues, the miserable c*nt will convince his ignorant followers they aren't.
So we better have a good obedient Tory that will bow to His Massah's Orders.
Don't wanna p1ss them off or suggest election influencing from them, do we?

the Canadian farm team for the Democrat party traitors to the republic is going to get what it has coming to it

I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnished rows of steel
"As ye deal with my contemners, so with you my grace shall deal"
Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel
Since God is marching on

A party of rednecks, cultists, Gomers and Goobers calling someone else a "farm team"?

That's hilarious.

It would be if it were true outside of your fever and imaginations and deluded ramblings.

Trudeau was definitely the farm league. And definitely nouveau riche. The results show appropriately.

However knows his stuff. He's done this for a lifetime and as a career and trained under one of the greats.

WTF are you talking about meathead? You one of those kiss American ass so maybe you can taste their dee-licious corn Canadians? Or just one who likes it without the lube?

Why does every single leftie on this board immediately start with ass-fetish stuff when they start to lose? It's getting creepy.
