In the podcast "All In":

"he (Biden) constantly said the wrong things and one of the wrong things he said was that Ukraine would join NATO.” Trump said, “When I heard him talking, I thought: this guy is going to start a war.”

The facts: the aggressor started this war. There are no, none, and cannot be any excuses for brutal and destructive aggression in Europe of this century.

Undermining NATO: every free European and Northern American nation has the birth right to join the defense alliance of democracies. He is weakening and undermining NATO right at the time the new Axis of tyrants is rising. NATO is the only thing that stands in the way of their claim to rewrite the rules of the world. Trump is playing right into their hands.

Saying that Ukraine in NATO would give Putin any justification for his brutal war is nothing short of claiming that Poland's defense pact with Great Britain was the cause of the WWII. In 1939 with the same words, he would have been apologizing for Hitler.

So: it will be the citizenship test: nothing short of, and nothing less. Everybody knows what it will be about and what's at stake. No one could claim ignorance about what the options were and what they meant. No such excuses. Not a chance.

You should have watched the Tucker interview of Putin. Putin said, in no uncertain terms, that he started the war because he felt threatened by Ukraine joining NATO.

Now, don't mistake that for the truth. But it is clear that Putin was going to use any indication that Ulraine would join NATO as justification for war. What Trump is saying, and he's correct, is that the public proclamation that Ukraine would join would provoke Putin into invading. And it did.

The problem we have with Joe is that he doesn't know what he can and can't say. He's practically declared war on China in two instances, the white house has to correct his speeches every time he talks, hes just a walking talking suit with no clue what is going on.

OK, so now they are quoting today's equivalent of Hitler in support of their claims. "He said so". Hitler said.

As said, there's no chance in the world that anyone taking part in the citizenship test wouldn't have known what it is about. Only the test.

You can be critical of our president and not be supporting Putin. This isn't a one has to be right and the other has to be wrong kind of thing. This is a one is a more-on and the other is evil kind of thing. Biden is the more-on

Supporting Ukraine and supporting NATO is both smart and good.

Trump is foolish and evil; he clearly will surrender Ukraine to Russia and he has already invited Russia to invade NATO countries.

Or for f's sake. Don't be dense.

With respect to Ukraine and the OP, the point that Trump clearly made is that making public statements about Ukraine joining was poking the bear. The statements were the problem.

With respect to the Russia invading NATO thing, that was a sarcastic remark born out of frustration that the member states were not pulling their own weight. It wasn't an invitation to invade. Don't be so glib. Intentionally ignorant statements still make you look ignorant.

Joe doesn't write his own speeches. Every POTUS has speech writers and they are reviewed by multiple staff. Duh

Joe has opposed admitting Ukraine to NATO due to excess corruption for YEARS. Putin is spreading BULLSHIT.

He really wants the enormous gas reserves off Ukraine's southern coast.

Russia did not invade Ukraine in 2022: it first occupied a part of it, Crimea in the early 2014. Nobody was talking about NATO back then. That's four full years that Trump did nothing about it. This is just a lie: as boldface and blatant as they get. Right in your face: from the lying hot air cheeks and lips.

Not a chance we couldn't have known. The citizen's test.

Lmao.. Joe is the corruption in Ukraine. And I've seen no indication that he doesn't want Ukraine in NATO. Further, if someone is writing for Joe, so everything Joe says is scripted, why does the WH keep issuing Corrections for what Joe said?

BTW, they did issue this statement just under 1 year prior to the invasion:

Supporting Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic Aspirations:  As the United States and Allies reaffirmed in the June 2021 NATO Summit Communique, the United States supports Ukraine’s right to decide its own future foreign policy course free from outside interference, including with respect to Ukraine’s aspirations to join NATO.  We also remain committed to assisting Ukraine with ongoing reforms.

It was a dumb thing to say. And it proves that you lied about Joe not wanting Ukraine to join NATO.

Ukraine has been closely aligned with NATO since the fall of the USSR. They had intense talks with NATO about membership in 2010, but those fell apart. Your assertion that Ukraine wasn't working with NATO in any capacity is not true by any respect. It is also not germane to this discussion. 2014 was a different set of circumstances from 2022. In 2022, there were two stated reasons. The laughable NAZI excuse and the worry that NATO would accept Ukraine.

Now, NATO isn't likely to accept Ukraine because that would mean they would instantly be at war with Russia. They won't accept Ukraine until a peace deal is met.

These are blatant lies and they aren't just bordering but crossing very clearly into apologizing - and who knows - maybe supporting? fascism: as clear as it gets in our century. There's no point in trading words with patented liars: but we know and cannot pretend to not know them for who they really are.

Only the citizen's test: no way we couldn't have known.

What part was a lie? Hmm? I mean, if you are going to claim it is a lie, back it up.

Exactly what I said. "Ongoing reforms" are necessary to to clean up the corruption which blocks Ukraine's admission to NATO.

Do you read BEFORE you post? LMAO

Here's one of the best things about being intelligent... It helps you to predict things that are going to happen in the future.

For example, you'd have to be really stupid to call Mike Tyson's GF a "n**** ho" and slap her arse. I think that almost everyone here is smart enough to guess what would happen.

What's less obvious - to some - is what happens when the gov't puts trillions of new dollar bills into circulation. I'm not gonna spoil that one for you, I'll just leave you to guess. At any rate, having an intelligent leader means that they'll have enough foresight to know what will happen in that scenario, and also to avoid all the other costly mistakes that Biden and Trudeau have made.

Quote

The facts: the aggressor started this war.

What's evident in Trump's speech is that he at understands why there's a war.

(If you look back on this forum, I predicted this war before Biden was inaugurated.)

Do you at least understand that the fact that you and Biden don't understand why there's a war makes it highly unlikely that Joey DOH is going to be able to help end it

Hitler first said we need to rearm. Then he said, we need this part of Czechia, that will do it for us. Then he invaded Poland with his buddy Stalin. Then, he took all of the Europe, and only by a narrow miracle, failed to take Britain.

No. No. No.

It’s not “sarcastic” for the leader of the free world to tell the leader of Russia they can invade Western Europe.  Especially when he’s the same piece of shlt who told Russia he would reward them for releasing Hillary’s emails… and they did.

You don’t get to break the law and then say you were joking. Russia invading MORE countries, which is a very real threat, is not a joke.
