In a functional modern democracy there's the principle of equality of citizens before the law, that is obviously opposite to: "someone has to be above the law". And this is no Cesar by a lightyear-long measure. If the citizen's jury decided otherwise, it would have been accepted by everybody. This is about the principles of democracy, not a football game.
