Adult Discussion About the 2024 US Federal Election

Recommended Posts

It's almost June and it's still not a slam dunk who's gonna be running for president in 2024.

The DOJ is doing everything in its power to derail Trump, and the Whitehouse issued 9 corrections to Biden's short speech the other day. That makes 90,000 gaffes and 9 corrections...

Since when does the WH draw attention to Biden's ridiculous gaffes? They've always ignored them before, hoping that they'd go unnoticed. Why are they acknowledging his mental difficulties in public now? Is he on the outs?

Let's be honest, maintaining the illusion of his mental competence is no small task. Without the DNC, MSM and WH staff running cover for him, even his most devoted cultists will have to admit to seeing the writing on the wall.

The way is being cleared to declare Biden unfit and put a new challenger in his place.

There's also a 50% chance that Trump won't be able to run due to the endless stream of DOJ crimes and political witch hunts against him. Leftists hope it's more than 50%, Americans hope it's less than that, but in any event, if your chances of surviving past Nov 7th were the same as Trump's chances of running in the election, you'd be sweating bullets.

If not Trump vs Biden, who vs whom?

I think if Biden bows out they will be forced to use Kamala. If Trump bows out I think the Republicans will put up Nikky Haley.

Nikki Hailey is no good.

Either run Rand Paul or Ron DeSanctimonious.

I hear some talks of Lil Marco Rubio being Trump's running mate.

Certainly, there are some pretty strong predictions of unexpected events here. Is that what it is?

I would say an adult discussion means just make your prediction.

I am not saying who would be good I am just saying who the Republicans would put up.

Normally I'd want a guy who's more libertarian in his views, However, the woke are becoming increasingly hostile to freedom and democracy so I wouldn't be too upset with a fighter to start going after these people

Maximus Decimus Meridius. Strength and Honour.   For the Republicans.

Lucius Aurelius Commodus. Give them bread. For the Democrat's.

Joking aside I think both Biden and Trump will be running.

The debates (if they go ahead) will separate the wheat from the chaff.

I don't think that the democrats or their supporters honestly believe they're going to be able to keep trump out of an election by locking him up.

I believe that the legal issues are designed to partially discredit him in the eyes of the public as being some sort of criminal while at the same time draining his pocketbook to weaken his ability to conduct an election

I think actually putting a candidate in jail for anything more than a few symbolic days is probably outrageously unlikely. I think we can probably count trump in as the candidate with a great deal of certainty.

Biden on the other hand...

I am sure that they are having a lot of internal discussions about this. And the fact that they proposed a debate date that is before his nomination by 2 months has me wondering if perhaps they're going to see how well he does And if he can't hold it together during the debate they'll go with an emergency backup

It didn't start with a snotty robo/rebound diatribe about how the world will end if Trump gets elected.

Fact is that both Trump and Biden stand a strong chance of not being their party's candidate for the reasons mentioned.

Nope.

I never said they'd happen for sure, that would be a strong prediction. I said that there's a chance they'd happen, and I never invented any of those reasons.

Leftards will tell you trump won't be allowed to run because his charges are a slam dunk. All conservatives agree that the Dems are trying to prevent him from running. You'd have to be a fool to think it's a 100% chance he'll run.

Biden is clearly unfit to run, and recently the Dems and their MSM outlets have started openly questioning his mental health themselves. They're cracking the door open for a different candidate. You'd have to be a fool to think it's a 100% chance he'll run.

Peg your chances anywhere you want, from 10%-50% for each to end up not running, but it's not zero.

1. Ok but that's a low bar.
2. More than 50% ?
3. Ok fair enough but isn't strong chance more than 50% ?

My threads almost always start with a mainstream reporter making the case.

It's this thread that started with YOU posting a,snotty and ignorant diatribe about your stupid SPECULATIONS.

In reality, unless Trump is convicted and loses his appeal before November (AKA in jail), he will be on the ballot and so will Joe.

NO ONE can pull Joe from the ballot.

Not always. It's relative imo, depending on what the normal outcome would be.

A strong chance of dying from a flu would be 2%. A strong chance of dying from cancer is 30%. A strong chance of winning the leadership race for the LPOC in 2026 would be 20% right now.

At this point it is normally 99% certain what the head-to-head matchup will be. In this case Biden is still only about 70% imo. Trump is probably at about 80%. No one would be completely blindsided by either one not being on the ticket.

Won't be able to run? He is running now. None of the DOJ cases are going to make it to court before the election at this rate.

Whatever happens in New York, even many of the ardent Trump haters concede, will not likely end in any jail time even if found guilty.

It will be Biden vs. Trump. Why? Americans have shown a very strong tendency to prefer predictable and known over unknown. As to who else should be in their place? on the Republican side, Nikky Haley or Scott Walker (former Wisconsin Governor) would be solid choices IMO. As for the Democrats.. that is a bit dicier. Cory Booker (NJ) or current NC governor Roy Cooper would be palatable. As for AOC, VP harris, Gretchen Whitmer.. just a bit too ideological. VP Harris behind the camera is well known for being terse and very hard to work with.

Well it is true that people do like the devil they know. And you are right that there aren't a lot of other choices. Especially for the democrats, Cory Booker is not a palpable choice at all for anyone. That's why they had Biden, because the people were going to select Bernie Sanders and they parachuted Biden in as a safe neutral choice for voters.

We are probably not going to see a lot of changes unless Biden's Health seriously deteriorates

Here is to hoping for a more interesting set of candidates in 2028.

Well i don't know if you can say these two aren't INTERESTING. Lets face it the goings on have been legendary :)  We've got one candidate who can't figure out how to get off the stage and one who can't figure out how to get off the docket :)

But perhaps future ones will have less entertainment value and more value for running the country and bringing people together. The polarization and  division over everything BUT policy isn't healthy.

I guess there is entertainment value for some.  I find this nothing but repetitive and of no value when it comes to actual policy.

IF you listen to ex-DOJ top lawyers (instead of FOS LIES), they will tell you that the evidence against Trump is strong, but no one can tell what this jury will do and it's possible one or 2 will hang the decision.

And Trump's defense team has completely IGNORED any alternative explanation for the STRONGEST EVIDENCE against Trump, probably cause they have NONE.

You could say the same thing about "Coronation Street" but it's been a fan favorite since 1960 :)

Newsom or Michael Obama - my guess is it's one of those two.
