Justin Trudeau is the Left's Donald Trump

Recommended Posts

Ivison's column today contains references to Trudeau's performance as PM by those who know it best - his cabinet. And just like those who once worked for Trump, few of them have much flattering to say. But this paragraph particularly caught my attention:

Trudeau has no apparent interest in the banalities of government, including the management of his cabinet or caucus. Ministers — senior ministers — report that they rarely talk about their portfolios with their boss. In the 2018 book, Un selfie avec Justin Trudeau, Jocelyn Coulon, a former adviser to Stéphane Dion, said the relationship between prime minister and his then foreign affairs minister was “glacial” and the only private meeting the two men had was when Dion was fired. “The prime minister is a man incurious about the affairs of the world,” Coulon remarked.

The word 'incurious' has often been used to describe Trump. So has his lack of interest in the 'banalities of government'. Both men are, of course, narcissists. Both lie quite frequently and both hold grudges. Both are are divisive and more interested in scoring political points than governing effectively, as ex-Finance Minister Morneau says. Both were born with silver spoons in their mouths, went to private schools, and seek the attention and approval of the wealthy while claiming to be a 'man of the people'. Trump pretends to be religious while Trudeau affects a desperate wokeness. I equate his taking the limo to a BLM demonstration (in the midst of a covid lockdown) to take a knee to Trump hugging the flag on stage. They were both performative and cringe-inducing.

Another paragraph that so aptly describes this government is this one:

The sage of Baltimore, Henry Louis Mencken, once satirized a government that sounds remarkably like Trudeau’s as a “a broker in pillage”: a collection of individuals whose only talent was getting and holding office and whose principal device was “to search out groups who pant and pine for something they can’t get and promise to give it to them. Nine times out of 10, that promise is worth nothing. The 10th time it is made good by looting A to satisfy B.”

I think this is one of the sillier things you've posted in awhile.

Trump and Trudeau are both very bad, and both couldn't go away sooner.  They are bad for very, very different reasons, however, and are diametrically opposed on almost everything.

The similarities you draw between them are shared by most politicians - the lying, the performances, the narcissism, the grudges etc...You could say the exact same things about Poilievre, but like Trudeau I wouldn't say he's like Trump.

Trump is something very, very different.

Trudeau's a decrepit narcissist fraudulent old fart rapist who shits himself and shows increasing signs of actual dementia?
Yeah, that's just stretching things a tiny bit.

As for both being bad well, its PP trying to emulate every step of Trump's populist schemes, JT's by far the lesser of 2 evils. At least PP doesn't shoot off his mouth endlessly about the things he'll do, most likely because he has no plan for anything or mentioning them would make most people jump off the Tory bandwagon.

What ended Trudeau's teaching career?

There are actually endless comparisons. Their political rise to power and a number of other factors are actually extremely close.  Different policy of course.

The difference is trump's economy was still prosperous.  Trudeau's has been a horror that will haunt us for generations.

WTF does that have to do with anything?

Trump grabs women by the p***y. Trudeau allegedly likes them younger than legal age, when teaching them. By comparison, Trump is a stand up guy if those allegations are true. Trudeau likely simply has better bite to his non disclosure agreements.

I think Trudeau takes the cake on that one. Black face, wearing ethnic outfits, and acting like he was part of the ethnicity. His wife publicly divorcing him, and even together being vomit inducing. Melania Trump has been nothing but class. Can't say the same for her husband.

Trudeau thinks the budget balances itself. You burn a sinking ship bad enough, it just disappears, no?

Lots, if we were told why and why a cheque was written. Trudeau could easily be on a sex registry if tru.  Seems the G&M has the story, but not allowed to come out with it. He and Trump are so much alike outside of politics.

He has incredibly powerful people surrounding him, so the story would be buried so deep, uncovering anything would likely put the victim in immense harm's reach.

Trudeau also has the media in his back pocket. Trump does not. If Trump did, the level of power he would have, would be terrifying.

If he so wanted, he could end that person if they were to leak anything.

I would say they're both Media darlings subject to rumour mongering, as evidenced by this thread. Eg the pee tape, Trudeau's teaching career

But some of the posters who post this trash have admitted that they're not serious posters, so...

Then what happen mike? Why did they have to go to court to stop the story. Why did daddy cut a big cheque. Your boy is a perv, but it's sad that you still support him.

Let's just lie even harder to somehow link the personalities of Trump and Trudeau. Write in a reference to some Pizza Parlour backroom next.

Jesus K Reist you live in Canada. If you seriously believe in hidden conspiracies in govt, you've sure as hell never dealt or worked for them. Barely capable of getting your EI or pension cheques out on time.
And 'the media' that's outed every single move of them sure as hell wouldn't be sitting on this BS claim. Media in his pocket, my ass. Do they report every time he farts like they do with Trump?

Yet here we have the same crew of Russian trolls and drooling mor0ns willing to accept any unsubstantiated rumour and dismiss the testimony of dozens of witnesses and victims, because they're so politically brainwashed.

Right  it's not like they allowed foreign interference that benefitted them at the elections. or tried to interfere in the legal case of a large donor.  Oh... wait....

nope. Trump and Justin are the same. The media is not. The media prefers Justin's left wing agenda and is happy to support it. The media does not care for trump's right wing agenda. That doesn't change the fact that when you look at it closely as far as political methods and history there's a great deal in common

So you feel thesis was lying about the Chinese interference then?

Trump is a reflection of his supporters - they're what's really different.

It’s the same folk who’ve supported other presidents.  Trump’s unique in that he’s a psychopath - no remorse, no shame, no introspection for anything he does or says.  The man has literally no decency and lacks a moral compass, but he does have the cunning needed to understand the dumbest apes, and make loud ape noises back at them.

You are, as usual, blithely unaware of the realities of things. Almost all those who support Trump know he's an asshat. They just don't care as long as the alternative is, well, people like you. Trump should have zero chance of getting in again, but people all across the US are so turned off by DEI and anti-racism and white privilege and left-wing city councils, district attorneys, and state governments refusing to let police control the addicts and other criminals on the street, so fed up with being preached to and having their schools and universities turned into indoctrination camps for gender fluidity and transeverything and white oppression, so angry at having every federal government program set up hierarchies based on race - with white people at the bottom - so frustrated at every corporation, school and government giving preference to minorities that they're ready to vote for almost anything other than that. Hell, even minorities are turning to Trump to get away from you people and your sanctimonious, self-righteous race and gender divisiveness.
