betsy Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 Mike Duffy was speculating if there will be digging and more auditing. One of his guests is hoping that they look into auditing the Gun Registry and all contracts that have been awarded. It will be interesting to know about Foreign Aid. How likely will it be? Will the process of cleaning up include that...or will they just let it slide? Quote
fellowtraveller Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 The very first place I would look is Indian Affairs. Next would be Industry Canada and the traditonal pork barrels of AOC and WED. Far far more money in any of those ministries than in the gun registry. Quote The government should do something.

Far far more money in any of those ministries than in the gun registry. Human Resources, Public Works and CIDA too. But I don't think Harper is going to want to make a big deal of this. The optics would be bad since it makes the Tories look vindictive, and partisan. That's what the Liberals did with Mulroney and Airbus. The accountability act will give resources and authority to the auditor-general's office to do its work. Anything thing criminal should be given to the RCMP for investigation. After all the nonsense we've had over the past few years, the grandstanding and smoke-and-mirrors, it's time for people just to do their jobs. Harper has more important things to deal with than chasing after Liberal scandals. Quote
geoffrey Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 Considering I'm in a related industry and could easily adapt my business to run the gun registry for about $1-2 million a year, there is definitely alot of questions to be raised.
