Well that was an interesting read worthy of discussion.

The American Academy and "Trump's 10 principals for schools" iis pretty ambitious that people will argue over.

Yes, very interesting.

Imagine a new crop of graduates that are prepared for the actual workforce!

No more racists, gender benders and Marxist psychopaths.

It'll be heaven.

He will have to stack the courts to make some of those things work, such as making it illegal to teach "Marxism" (his word) in schools.  It's a big government solution to suppress "left" (his word) thinking.  If you want to make something flourish then try to ban it, I say.

But whoever drafted this (The American Academy) know what they're doing so presumably they have a plan for an entire cultural makeover of the US.  My take ?  I'm not American but it seems pretty anti-American to me.

I disagree.  This set of policies is well designed and articulated for mass appeal.  The type of person who would disagree with common-sense policies wouldn't be believed by the people who would be persuaded by this.

All of it, or just part of it? What's got you stumped?

For starters, how is he going to tax an asset?
Second, where’s the math?  If he somehow manages to steal 50% of the assets of the Ivy Leagues and other private schools, how can that possibly be enough to provide free public university education to every adult in America? It’s a bunch of BS.  There’s no way those endowments are big enough for that.

The TOTAL of all university endowments in the nation is a staggering $890 Billion.  Even if Trump did steal half of that money, it couldn’t build and fund colleges across the nation. Not even close.  The U.S. DoE spends about $80 billion a year, so this money could fund the DoE for five years.  Not enough for free college for everyone.  Just more Trump BS.

Not so much.

Maybe in private schools, but if Americans don't want Marxism taught to their children in public schools then judges don't really have a say in it. It's a straight topic on how to spend tax dollars, not some kind of free speech issue.

This isn't to say that kids shouldn't learn about Marxism, they just shouldn't have it preached to them.

If some Berkelinated beanie baby wants to brainwash a grade 4 class about the evils of capitalism and the Kumbaya of communism, there should be a remedy for that.

1. 3. Except it's not Communism, it's teaching about racism and things that the federal government likely doesn't have jurisdiction on.

2. Nobody, in practical terms is teaching Marxist theory let alone preaching it.  We have to stop solving make believe problems.

There's nothing more American than a free people deciding to cut out an anti-American way of thinking. If Trump wins, then the people will have spoken, and leftism will be banished.

The Dems will have fun with that.

AGENDA 47!

Cue the dramatic horror music, screen flashing images of blacks in chains getting whipped, attack dogs snapping at women's faces, children jammed into Obama's kid cages, mushroom clouds, etc.

America will soon be MAGA country. Whoopee! I cannot wait for Trump to be sworn in as the next President of America. Once America goes MAGA, so will Canada be next. I have had enough of this Marxism, gender and pronouns bullshit and trans nonsense. It will be time to get back to normal and then common sense will prevail. I guess that you will not make you feel very happy when Trump becomes President, right? What are you going to do then, comrade?

Just asking. 😇

I'm not sure what you mean.

Marxism is basically just vilifying capitalism to sell communism.

I think we're talking about different things. Were you talking in code or something?

The BLM leaders would beg to differ. They describe themselves as "trained Marxists".

Why not believe them?

Just give Trump a chance, will you. Trump cannot be any worse than that buffoon Bidumb was and still is. It is time for some MAGA common sense to prevail. Hopefully, Trump will finally end Marxism in America once and for all. Long overdue indeed. Next Canadians must get rid of Marxist Castro Trudeau and put in Pierre Poilevre and bring back common sense back to Canada. This Marxist WEF globalist experiment must end now. Enough already. Works for me. 😇

Give him a chance? He had a chance. He lied, cheated, criminally abused the office, squandered our international goodwill, ended in economic disaster and tried to end the Republic entirely after the people voted the bum out.

Give him a chance? Lol

What a lying piece of crap you are.

Literally nothing has to be true or make any sense at all by your standards.

If you wanna talk about "abusing one's office", why don't you talk about Joe Biden using the power of his office to get his cokehead son millions of dollars from corrupt foreign oligarchs and Communist Party of China heavyweights

Maybe he's stumpid

Stumpid (STUM-pid) adjective:

  1. Living in a state of permanent confusion and bewilderment, caused by one's inability to make sense of even the most basic facts and logic.
  2. So far left of center politically that polite, honest dialogue is no longer possible.

How to use stumpid in a sentence: "The poster was so stumpid that the blatant BS spewed by CNN and the Dems made as much sense to him as anything else, and he really liked looting, burning, and watching people get assaulted/killed, so he went all-in with their farcical narratives.

I think you nailed it, taxme. He's stumpid

I see.

You can’t answer any of the questions.
It is well-known here that I strongly support Israel. But I do not support Israel so strongly as to believe that America would be better if university students and professors were unable to profess divergent opinions, and replaced with a federal government run system which bans a long list of ideas from being presented.

These days, liberal and conservative extremists are trying to ban ideas on campus. Promoting terrorism and violence should be banned. Threatening others with violence and doxxing people should be banned. But ideas? If someone wants to simply say that they think homosexuality is immoral, that is their right. If they want to discuss the merits of communism, that’s their right.

I read Marx in college. It didn’t make me a Marxist.  I read The Souls of Black Folk. It didn’t make me hate being white. This fascist notion of Trump’s Federal Government “University” telling you what you are and are not allowed to say is a hideous idea.  How will you like this “University” when the Democrats are elected and making the “free speech” rules?

1. I understand this position, but in response to the problems infecting the public sphere, a response that effectively says "non starter" should be enhanced with a counter proposal.  What would you say should be done about anti-semitic hate propaganda deployed on a wide scale for the direct purpose of sowing social problems ?
2. What about the ideas of the World Zionist Conspiracy ?  Or Jewish cabals run by Soros are funding vaccines to destroy the white race ?  Immigration is a world plan to decimate white people ?  The pervasiveness of social media means we can't use the same model for responding to hate speech that we used with street-level pamphleteers.
3. Exactly.  Any rules should be separate from politics, but that doesn't mean that the issues favoured by one party or another should be ignored.  There are still reasonable leaders on both sides - put them together to develop something, and use academia, and the best minds in tech too.

In a university, logic and fact usually win.

But there is one particular expression in use today which concerns me, and that is when protesters call for “intifada revolution,” because the Palestinian intifada campaigns were terrorist suicide bombing campaigns which murdered thousands.  This phrase is promotion of terrorism directed at civilian minorities and I don’t believe the First Amendment protects it.
