Ukraine Can't Win the War

It's a misunderstanding.

I don't think it is.

You're posting pictures of brave men fighting, then following it up with pictures of ambush deaths of soldiers but choosing to post the most humiliating pictures of those said setbacks.

Then instead of doubling down (like a man who knows who and what they stand for), you choose the cowards way out, by passive aggressively playing innocent.

The men in those pictures have shoes you could never fill, if you had 4 lifetimes to do so.

You should be ashamed of yourself, but people like you hide behind computer screens for a reason.

If you're going to boldly post something, at least find your balls before doing so, and stand behind it.

Notice how nobody else posted pictures like you did, even though its relatively easy to find some?

To die fighting, is a level of bravery you will never know. To value something so much, you are non hesitant to lay your life down for it.

To know there is imminent danger, and run towards it.

At what price is it going to cost Ukraine....this incursion is not going to change anything...not for Ukraine, not for Russia, at most it is a temporary moral booster for Ukrainian troops, which will be short lived...and completely forgotten in a few months. In the big picture it was a waste of time and lives....

What do you mean... the big picture?

They are in a war against Russia. At the very least this is going to force Russia to have to move forces to repel AND if Ukraine continues to push Russia like this, it forces Russia to have to rethink their entire deployment of forces to be able to repel such attacks.

Moral boosters are a big thing, just as demoralizing the Russians is also a big thing.

You might as well sit here arguing it is a waste for Ukraine to be fighting back at all. Is that what you are getting at? Should they just surrender?

well over a thousand men have or are taking part of this mission, Your ex military think they have a plan for extraction...they are going to push until expended, and the farther they push the more exposed their flanks are...

Yes they are at war with Russia, i get that, and on paper this might have sounded like a brilliant plan...Do you think at this time Ukrainian forces could afford the men and resources being expended in this incursion, i mean that could not be better spent on holding back Russian advances...This is not the first incursion into Russia, during this conflict we would have to ask IS Russia going to revisit border security...I personal don't think so...nothing that is going to make any real difference next time...

Moral booster are a huge thing , but like anything they are time sensitive...they only last a few weeks then they are gone, is that benefit worth over a thousand men's lives..

Thats not my point at all...my point here is Ukraine has a very limited amount of resources, and a large portion of those incoming resources are dependent on other countries to round up, send to ukraine...and can be held up for the smallest reasons...there is no huge warehouse full of reserve equipment that you and i know our nations have....every man , women , and piece of equipment should be husbanded like there is no replacement...Showing putin that his borders are as leaking as a canadian navy AOP is not worth the cost of over a thousand troops and some of his best tanks...

Should they surrender, thats a complicated question, if they are totally dependent on NATO to provide equipment, that has already proven to be shaky at best...on and off again...not a good way to fight a war...NATO is almost at the end of its rope , we already see some countries like German, Canada  cut off or drastically cut back it's support of equipment...becasue they to are in trouble with funds...I'm sure Ukraines government sees this as clear as day...and they must be wondering with the US election coming closer just what the future support is going to look like...In the end, we in the west see just numbers of the amount of dead or wounded...to Ukraine it means a father, husband or mother , an entire generation being chewed up, and no real end in sight. Does that mean surrender, thats not up to you and i , thats up to Ukraine...

Your making sh1t up once again, show me a post where i root for mother Russia....just one....

I've spent 34 years of my life serving this country, the whole time listening to guys like you question my patriotism, or character, guys like you that have done nothing or very little for this great nation other than sit behind a keyboard and chirp those that have served in some capacity or another...

Guys like you who, will never know the sounds, smells, what it feels like emotional, the taste, or how it feels to watch a brother in arms body being put into a small baggy because thats all we could find...guys like you will always be on the side lines, always chirping about something...guys like you don't bother me anymore...

Our military does what it can with what Canada gives it,and more.... It is something that makes Canadians all across this country proud, that they are so cheap...

if it sucks it is because Canadians like you have allowed it to suck....you've sat on the side lines and watched it be degraded for decades, while real Canadians step up and serve knowing full well Canadians don't give a rats a$$ about anything outside their bubble...you included...sure you can pump up your chest, beat the war drums...but in the end your just another chirper...that has contributed very little to this nation....

I don't think pointing out realities, is rooting for Russia.

The reality is that nobody is winning this war. The war will end at the negotiation table.

The only thing that matters as a result, is to have the best possible negotiating hand when those said tables are set to host both countries at war.

Russia will obviously do all in its power to extend this war up until the US elections, where it likely thinks is where it will get favorable results.

Ukraine is quite aware of this, so is trying to gain leverage of their own.

Regardless of how you look at it, there is no way Russia negotiates without sticking to all if not most of the land it has taken.

Not sure how Ukraine's incursion changes that, unless they plan to take Moscow next.

There is nothing to excuse with showing those pictures. They did it to humiliate, and are playing innocent after being called out for it.

Note how they posted no such pictures of Russia?

Thats like posting compromising pictures of an ex, because you loved her. Reality, is its petty and vengeful.

Anyone would be able to see it as BS.

OK... so, what do you think? We are both arm chair quarterbacks here with zero real information on what their operational plans are.

So, what is more realistic here, that Ukraine is on some kind of Kamakazee mission here with no care or regard in the world for how it ends? Or, maybe they have plans and strategy... maybe that doesn't work out exactly as planned, because war is hell or maybe this does work as intended but with some costs... because war is hell.

What is your purpose and motivation here in criticizing it? You are playing at the angle that men are dying... well, is it just that you think Ukraine should have sent these men to die somewhere else on the war front instead?

Because your criticisms are coming across as if *anything* Ukraine is doing is going to be a waste of men.

Well, no, it isn't. The point of the question, is as I alluded to above, is that your criticism come across as if anything Ukraine does is a waste. Even now, I ask a fairly straightforward question about what you think... you come up with this and end up saying it is up to them.

Well... so is pushing into Kursk too, but you have lots of opinions on that.

I asked this because it seems you are angling at this entire war as hopeless. So, do you want them to surrender?

I think the mission was meant as a distraction, perhaps to have Russia pull soldier from elsewhere to counter, Ukraine is hoping those troops come from areas that Russia is pushing right now... I'm pretty sure Ukraine did not plan it being so successful...With no protection on the flanks it would not take much to cut off their means of resupply and withdrawal....so yes it kind of makes it a kamikaze mission...WAR is hell, not sure if you have time in combat, but throwing soldiers lives away for no real gain, is a waste of human lives...and the excuse of war is hell does not cut it with the guy on the ground that is doing the dying...being there many times, has hardened my opinion....soldiers want to know that their lives are not going to be wasted on some task that will not effect the outcome of the conflict...

What is my purpose or motivation, about criticizing it, I think i have been pretty non bias about my criticism on the whole conflict, I'm not a Russian cheerleader or shrill as some have suggested, i full support Ukraines right to defend itself from Russia, i have called out on many times NATO lack of support, like they don't want this war to end...or afraid of how the optics look to Russia don't poke the bear comes to mind...And now some countries are withdrawing their support to ukraine , germany being one of them, this is a huge blow to ukraine as germany is a huge supporter...How long do you think before other nations follow the same path...then there is the US election coming will the winner continue to support Ukraine, I'm sure the Ukrainian government is pondering all of these questions and have to be influencing all their current decisions...

Ukraine is producing massive russian casualties while defending sending these units some of their best units i might add, off on this adventure, sounds and looks desperate for one, those troops could have been used in areas that truly need them on the defensive side of the line...But it is not having much effect on Russian current war plans...add in to the fact NATO is not going to supply weapons in numbers that would allow Ukraine to go on the offensive...one has to wonder, how long is the war going to last? how much ground is russia going to take ? How much longer is NATO going to support Ukraine ?

One thing that should be crystal clear right now is Russia is not bother by the huge daily losses of men and equipment....NATO can not resupply Ukraine fast enough , supplies and equipment are coming in in dribs and dabbles...and are consumed as soon as they arrive...

Ukraine is asking it self everyday, how they continue to fight for their nation, with Russia slowly advancing on most fronts, lack of NATO support, and now some NATO countries turning off the taps....Why would they not look at all their options ?

Ukraine is facing some tough decisions right now, it is losing ground to the Russians daily, it as already demonstrated it is not concerned with losses of men and equipment, Russia is not willing to come to the table right now unless Ukraine offers them something big...NATO supply is dwindling, and will come to an end....US elections are a big question on who is going to win and what happens to US support after elections....

Is the war hopeless....you tell me, do you see NATO aid turning the corner and giving Ukraine the weapons in numbers they need to go on the offensive....with out this NATO aid it is only a matter of time before Ukraine forces weaken and Russia makes huge gains...Everyone here continues to say Russia is losing huge numbers everyday...But so is Ukraine, which has only so many soldiers that are trained and experience, soon they will be on the same footing as Russia putting in green troops with barely a few weeks training...

NATO is the problem here, not my comments or others on this forum....without NATO support it is my opinion that Ukraine will not be able to hold back Russia...Surrender is an option, not a very attractive one but so is to bring Russia to the table to negotiate...

Do you have some insight on their exact troop placements to know they have no protection on the flanks?

Looks like the have more of a plan than you give them credit for:

Where do you get this information from? The last think I read, 3 hours ago, is talking about what the 2025 budget will look like, with perhaps some reductions... but there has been no official budget cuts to supporting Ukraine as of yet.

Really? Putin has struggled with an effective response. Ukraine continues to take more land in Russia. My God man, you have been railing on here about how much land Russia keeps taking and Ukraine has taken more Russian land in a couple of weeks than Russia has taken all year from Ukraine.

Putin has had to pull troops off the lines and scramble other units together to put some kind of response in place.

This is what, the first time since WWII Russia has been invaded? This whole thing changes the narrative Putin has been spinning for his people.

I just can't... I can't with your constant exaggerated down playing of this while you have been on here touting over and over again how much land Russia gains.

You claim you are not a cheerleader, but almost everything you say is overly negative about Ukraine and overly positive for Russia.
