Ukraine Can't Win the War

Sooner or later, this will work, in seeing the growing percentage of people voting for ceding land to Russia as a means of ending this.

"Ukrainians overwhelmingly rejected the notion that Russia is winning the war (only 5 percent believe it is); the remaining majority was split almost evenly between those who thought Ukraine is winning and those who thought neither side is winning. When it comes to war outcomes, 73 percent of Ukrainians believed that Ukraine will eventually liberate all of its territories. A sizeable percentage also believed that Ukraine will regain some or all of its territories within the next year (56 percent) and that the war will end within two years (59 percent). While other polls have found less optimism about the current situation, the general belief in eventual victory is consistent across recent polls."

He is desperate. The more that noose tightens around his neck, the more indiscriminately and profusely he will bomb civilians, as a means to bring Ukraine to its knees.

I really doubt that, considering what Russia has already done to Ukraine. It would ahve occurred in 2022.

I went to college with a Ukrainian woman, and knew a few others. He should have known better. These people are built different.

They are pretty much the same as you and I. I work with some Ukrainians that have only been to Canada for less than 24 months. Then again, I am in Winnipeg, where nearly 25,000 of them have settled. I see them everywhere.

That's the red line that would warrant him using far more severe weapons. IE them being pushed out of a territory in its entirety, and Putin seeing his grip on power evaporating before his eyes.

This is just a silly myth. "Far more serious weapons" would obviously mean tactical nuclear weapons," which is never going to happen.

Russia is winning

Ceding some land, isn't the same as a military victory. This is a military failure on all accounts from Russia.

Ceding some land, is compromise in attempting to hear both sides security concerns and meeting them. Genuinely wanting this to end, means even the highly unpopular.

I was eluding to their culture. My wife is Filipina. Part Chinese. These people are also built different.

Known for their hospitality, humor, and strength in the face of impossible hardship.

Many people would fold, going through what they are going through. I was eluding to that.

Yes, we are all human, but not all humans are built the same.

They have hypersonic weapons they have proven can overwhelm Ukraines systems.

Again, they haven't shown sustained desperation.

Once they do, they will be fully reckless. Precisely what the west is trying to avoid.

I agree.

Time to give Ukraine whatever it needs to finish off this war. Russia is in trouble, and we have to strike while the iron is hot.

We? Are you going to fight?

The entire point here is that you have spent months saying Russia is so close to taking Odessa... and now it is being point out they still have not done so.

And your big retort... is to quote something from March?

Again...do you have any news newer about Odessa?

Interestingly, in Putin's last offer for peace, he didn't even include Odessa.

LOL. THIS IS THE POINT.

You were talking about Russia taking Odessa back in May, spelling the doom of Ukraine. So... any news on that? Nope.

I'm shocked the Putin jock-sniffers on this site aren't calling for immediate nuclear retribution for this incursion into Russian territory.

This would create a greater conflict.

Something Russia is looking to avoid at all costs, as wouldn't be in their best interests.

This incursion will buy Ukraine time,  but ultimately this will be a negotiated end.

We, the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have now done so much for so long with so little, we are now capable of doing anything with nothing.

At what price is it going to cost Ukraine....this incursion is not going to change anything...not for Ukraine, not for Russia, at most it is a temporary moral booster for Ukrainian troops, which will be short lived...and completely forgotten in a few months. In the big picture it was a waste of time and lives....
