Australian Senator compares Trudeau’s handling of Freedom Convoy to communist China (yes - this is still going on.)

Nearly two years after the fact, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s decision to invoke the Emergencies Act and freeze the bank account of Freedom Convoy truckers continues to be condemned by international voices. 

In a speech before the Australian Senate on Monday, Liberal Party Senator Alex Antic compared Trudeau’s methods to quash peaceful protestors in February 2022 to the Chinese Communist Party’s social credit system.

Earlier this year, Dutch MEP Marcel de Graaff raised concerns in the European Parliament, likening Trudeau’s actions to a “social credit system” and warning against potential government overreach in citizens’ financial affairs.

 

Sigh - that guy has screwed our reputation so badly on the world stage that it could take many years of him being gone for us to recover.

People are STiLL using us as a cautionary tale. "Oh don't make it too easy to track money, we'll wind up like Canada and nobody wants that!"  FFS.

The irony, because I remember Trudeau having serious concerns China for Hong Kong regarding their protests pre-Covid.

Trudeau also chided the Indian gov't for not listening to their peaceful farmer protest, then he hid in his basement for a while when the Freedom Convoy got there, called them "racists and misogynists" on TV, got the MSM here to pretend that there was a sea of swastikas and confederate flags there and that there was desecration of monuments and wide-scale assaults/harassment of citizens, commented on how excellent BLM was, before finally trampling/beating the Freedom Convoy protesters, stealing their gas, freezing their bank accounts, closing their businesses, etc.

The hyocrisy is bad enough but what it's done to our international reputation is just criminal.  And it's almost impossible to get that back - we now look like a nation that is borderline dictator.

We've been 'made fools of' by an elected clown . . .  that's a reflection of us, the voting Canadian citizen. Not dumping that clown after one term, shows the world how brain-dead and lazy we Canadian citizens can be.
