It was a relatively peaceful protest apart from the occupation.  Protests themselves if peaceful are legal in Canada.  There was no real anarchy or insurrection.  The Liberals and left are trying to paint it as such, but it doesn't meet the definition.  It was the authorities, province and feds that did nothing for weeks about the occupation.  They could easily have stopped the occupation part from happening at the beginning, but didn't.  Protests happen in many countries, but in the convoy protest, it was the government that completely failed to control it.  They learned their lesson after it was over but it was too late.  Now they are looking for scapegoats.

A real leader would have met with the protestors and listened to their concerns.  Whether that would have been enough to defuse the rising tensions is another question, but a real leader wouldn't have gone into hiding and start releasing derogatory snipets for the press.

Trudeau is not a leader, never will be.

Either you believe in due process or anarchy. You can't pick and choose, that is anarchy.

Either you support due process and don't tolerate politicization of the courts or you're no better than the people who only pretended to support Hitler. You can't pick and choose which false trials you support, that is fascism.

She is absolutely being charged with opposing the gov't.

If she was protesting against the conservative gov't in Ontario or Alberta do you honestly think that Trudeau would be prosecuting her?

Courts interpret the law as written.

Why do you keep saying that?

Not only do we both know that's not going to be the case here, but as a leftist you entirely support ruling from the bench, as in Roe V Wade.

It's like you think that we don't know wtf is going on in "I didn't force anyone to vax"-land.

Ironically, that's exactly what Trudeau told the gov't of India when they were busy ignoring protests over there. Then Justaboy hid under his blanky like a little b1tch when the Freedom Convoy came to Ottawa.

She is being prosecuted by the Crown, not the Prime Minister. The issue was did she commit mischief? Again, we presume the defendent is innocent unless proven guilty.

The excuse that someone can commit a criminal offence to protest government policy was the excuse used by the SLA to rob banks. You have the right to protest but not the right to break the law while doing so. Or do you support the rioters who burned buildings to protest the killing of George Floyd?

The funny thing is,the truckers were protesting the regulation that they could not enter the USA without proof of vaccination. That was American policy they were protesting. The Canadian government does not have authority to set  rules about whom the US can allow to enter their territory.

President Trump is fully vaccinated and he looks pretty healthy to me.

It wasn't funny to me, it was pathetic.  And if you ask the supporters today they will say it was about 'Trudeau'.

No it was a Canadian policy that would've forced them to quarantine for 14 days after crossing an imaginary line.

Just a bizarre policy only serving to punish people for their private medical decision

She is being prosecuted at the whim of the PM, period.

She led a peaceful protest and our PM chose to ignore all of the protesters and crush them using force majeure.

The government was forcing people to take an experimental drug with lethal side effects which they didn't need. Protest was rational, peaceful, and arguably the most important thing that happened in Canada since WWII.

If George Floyd really was "murdered by ruthless cops in an ongoing attempt to commit genocide against blacks", as advertised on CNN, I woulda been there with them and you could call it an illegal rebellion or violent protest or whatever you want. After a winner was determined, their side would forever be considered right and the other, wrong. The winners write the history books.

Just continuing with their intimidation tactics is all

The true fact is, they would not have had to quarantine for 14 days because they could not have crossed that imaginary line to get into the US. The US banned them from entering.

Just because you keep repeating it does no make it so. Meeting with who?? There were, by your comments many many protester groups. Which one would have had a meeting that would have satisfied all??

Canada implemented the same policy and pressured the US to discriminate against people based on vaccine status

Do you think for one minute that if the PM announced that he was willing to meet with the protestors, that the protestors would have run and hid out as the gutless PM did.  You're dreaming in technicolor again.

What is it about they could not get into the US that you don't understand??? The Americans would not let 8nvacinated trucker into the USA. So, they did not need ti quarantine because they were not in the US.

Oh and, the US implemented the closed border first.

Who would he have met with???  There were at least 10 groups that all had different agendas and no one had any real organization to them. Name them.

As was found out at the inquiry, the groups were at worst a clusterf#ck and at best a bunch of disorganized wannabes.
