Regardless of the motive and insanity. Right, Left, Sexual, Non-Sexual, Terror, etc.

Deranged Shooters have become a pervasive problem in our society, and one issue that has been debated is whether or not the names of the perpetrators should be publicised.

Some countries, such as New Zealand, have laws in place that prohibit publishing the names of mass shooters to avoid giving them notoriety and discouraging future attacks.

Proponents of this approach argue that the attention given to these individuals only serves to glorify their actions, while Opponents argue that the public has a right to know who committed such atrocities.

To Name or Not to Name? I would name the motivation, but the name of the specimen? the name of the low level machine that resorted to such acts? Absolutely not.

What is your view?

Actually, ALL shooters (including the blacks who murdered that record number of innocent blacks in Chicago last weekend because Chicago has the worst crime in America) should have their names revealed.

Then again, naming a shooter might be a gift to that shooter's defense attorney.

Such a ban would violate the First Amendment in the US, but I agree that media outlets should restrain themselves.

Netflix recently promoted a film or series about a notorious serial killer. I refused to watch it. I think it’s disgusting to promote these people in any way, positive or negative.

Lawyers can prevent the release of the names of offenders who are minors. As far as real life goes, it's up to what the lawyers and the courts decide. A judge can issue a gag order on all legal proceedings in the matter.

Because this place doesn't really exist, and the posters here are not real human flesh and bone, but rather anonymous renderings of TEXT, real names here are as meaningless as names in a cartoon or a sitcom. Nothing we say here will impact the real world.

I have no problem with FoxNews reporting a murderer's name, and whether or not that murderer is a homo, a dyke, a tranny or a pedophile. Sexual perversion hasn't been determined to be a factor in the commission of crime, so courts have no reason to issue a gag order on the condition of sick fux.

Is this shooter's tranny status a factor? So far, no news source has shared the manifesto this animal has kept, so that part is hard to say. But as any Constitutional scholar will tell you, the only REAL cure for speech you don't like is MORE FREE SPEECH.

Yes, contrary to what your paranoia, nobody is coming for your constitution, @Rebound said it good. "Such a ban would violate the First Amendment in the US."

and that kind of ends the discussion for the US. Still, people that make ratings over repeating a psychopaths name should spend some jail time with the psychopath to get some real experience, see if the reporting changes, is my conclusion on this.

I shall never utter the name Jesse James again.  Oh wait…. that’s one of the good murdering criminals….

What is the message here? Are you suggesting the OP, me, has sympathises for Jesse James because he is white from Missouri? and because you assume I have right wing leanings, you automatically are also assuming that I have sympathises for the outlaw, Jesse James?

There is someone else that patrols this forum, her name is AntiFa, I think you and her would make a perfect group, you both like AOC too, most likely.
