Is it nervousness? Why the need to talk so much lately? Now, this report came out. and also the <--- left-wing media should lower their tone in my opinion with this beating of the drum about percieved racism. Not sure how many are buying it. If you talk to most Chinese people that suffered under communism, I am sure they have no problem with a serious scrutiny of the activities of the CCP in this country. That is my opinion. The political class failed, and now CSIS takes a somewhat political stand with 1 man risking all his life and reputation, and somehow is the wrong approach?! We will see at the end who will be remembered better. Mr. Han or the CSIS agent. I do hope forces inside the Intelligence Service CSIS don't back down to the tactics of the ideological media. Does that make me a communist or a fascist if I trust the Intelligence Service more than the politicians in this specific case?! Moonlight Graham
The problem with this whole scandal is that in order for Canadians to know the truth we need to dig hard into CSIS intelligence, which by its nature is difficult based on the secrecy of the Intel. But the government needs to do something to reassure Canadians our country is secure, rather than being willfully ignorant because it benefits some parties.

myata
So basically the idea of the great system being, you get to the trough; gobble as much as at all possible and a tad more that you can squeeze in, no questions heard, forget answered do what you like, circus period until yuck, sh*t, all kind of refuse are oozing and bursting from all orifices. Then roll away to get it all digested (zero responsibility for anything) and back to the assured and guaranteed place at it. Great. Will it work in this century of smart tech and AI? Like the Hell it will. Canada just added another million population while new crises are piling upon existing ones. In a year.
Moonlight Graham
The Conservatives voted down an NDP motion yesterday for a public inquiry that would have looked into all foreign interference from all foreign countries including Russia and the USA. Why?

It's funny to call it racist - he's obviously making a joke, playing off of triudeau's comments. Obviously investigating a serious security concern is NOT racist - it's insane to say that it is. But that's exactly what the liberal gov't did. He's just mocking that here. "we have a major security concern that affects the country and we think you were involved". "thats racist". So yeah - funny

What are you talking about? WE are the checks and balances, WE are supposed to be the ones to bring the consequences. The voters KNEW he as a corrupt criminal before the last election and unfortunately too many of them chose to NOT hold him or the libs to account. There's no 'fairy' dust - voters didn't do their job and gave him license to run amok. If voters hadn't done that we'd have a new gov't and they'd be able to address this very differently.

You've got a dysfunctional, ineffective and inefficient system that even at the time of its inception didn't make a lot sense; the system that can run with itself, dance with itself and perform in a circus period. And now you want to accuse the voters that they don't do enough of what? Pretend that something that cannot work, could still do something useful? Just because you want them to? I don't think the reality works this way. Why would anyone with a brain want to take part in a boring and failing show?

Wow - that was quite a lot of words to say nothing at all. We have a system. It works - it's not a GREAT system but there simply aren't any great systems. Like the saying goes "Democracy is a horrible way to run a country, it's only redeeming quality being it's better than all the other ways". Which is why it's best to vote for parties that prefer minimal gov't but other than that what are you going to do. 9 minutes ago, myata said: And now you want to accuse the voters that they don't do enough of what? Making... good... choices. That's the voters job. Why the hell do you think we have voters for if not for that? The voters KNEW trudeau was corrupt as the day was long and constantly broke the law. That was not a hidden thing - that's out front and open. But they elected him anyway ANd now we're "surprised" that he's dishonest and corrupt and has been taking foreign money? Really? The voters have to step up and do their job. THEY are the gatekeepers of the gov't. 9 minutes ago, myata said: Pretend that something that cannot work, could still do something useful? blackbird
Trudeau was asked by an interviewer whether or what he knew about the Chinese interference during the last two elections and he refused to answer. He basically shifted the subject elsewhere rather than answer the question. He infers he can't answer because of "national security". You can be sure Katie Telford will not answer these questions in committee either and will use the same lame excuse. The whole thing is an exercise in futility. Nobody can get any straight answers from the Liberals or their bureaucrats.

The public generally doesn't notice when the gov't dodges something. Thats why gov'ts dodge. But they DO notice if you hold it in front of them long enough, and when they notice they start asking the same questions and making teh same observations we do. Why won't he answer? What's he hiding? Something's wrong here... And that's the purpose behind this.

Why? Ok - found it. So here's what happened - the NDP made a motion that would STOP looking at china... in favor of one that would look at ALL interference from EVERYWHERE. But it had no budget - no porposed timeline, and no details as to how it would report or have any real teeth. Basically it left the libs off the hook for china. They could say "well - we're going to take 3 years and do this right and look at every country - i myself am headed off to jamacia for a week to search the beaches for clues. " and it turns away from china buying the Libs to Russian bots posting on the internet. The CPC wants to deal with the china issue first and get answers. We can go from there with other countries
