Yes, so to sum it up:

  • I read the news very fast. All I read is that a bill was causing this issue.
  • Automatically I assumed that the government is cooking something up to limit news access on the internet.
  • Names disappearing for a few days gave credence to this theory.
  • However, when I took the time to read it some more, after arguing with you, I realized that GOOGLE is doing this because they DO NOT LIKE some things in the bill. That changes the situation.
  • It means also the government takes no issues if I promote the VPN concept. 🏆

First tip:

Consider getting a VPN.

NordVPN is a VPN service provided by company Nordsec Ltd with applications for Microsoft Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS, and Android TV. Manual setup is available for wireless routers, NAS devices, and other platforms.

Second Tip:

Consider getting the Tor Browser.

What is the Tor Browser?

  • The Tor browser is a free and open-source web browser that allows you to browse the internet anonymously. It's built on the Tor network, which is a decentralized network of volunteer-run servers that help to conceal your online identity and protect your internet traffic from surveillance and tracking. When you use the Tor browser, your internet traffic is routed through a series of servers, making it difficult for anyone to trace your online activity back to you. Tor was originally developed by the United States Naval Research Laboratory in the mid-1990s as a way to protect government communications online. The first version of Tor was released to the public in 2002. Since then, it has been developed and maintained by the Tor Project, a non-profit organization based in the United States.

Using Tor Responsibly:

  • While the Tor browser has many advantages when it comes to online privacy and security, it's important to use it responsibly. The Tor network is NOT intended for illegal activities, as you can find a lot of dark corners there, and using it for such purposes can have serious consequences. It's important to remember that the Tor browser is a tool for protecting your privacy and security, not for engaging in illegal activities. By using the Tor browser responsibly, you can enjoy the benefits of online privacy and security without putting yourself at risk. As I mentioned above, the Americans developed it, so if you think you will go in there and engage in illegal activities, they most likely will track you. Is just the reality. 😄

If I remember correctly, TOR was the place where you could get and downloaded any software you wanted, Licence numbers, special codes, any movies and all music. It seemed to me to be the source for all that.

I don't use it but I am sure it is still the place to get stuff illegally. I also think that Tor is the only way to access the dark web?

Good for that too.

Is my view that people don't really care about music and software, those things are not considered illegal by some, is my estimation.

When I said illegal, was thinking about stuff like Silk Road:

Silk Road was a notorious cyber black market for illicit goods, and the first dark web market of the internet era. Launched in 2011 and shut down by the FBI in 2013.

Brilliant mind, the one that started it, however now, he is doing life in prison. That is a very radical libertarian.

My point was that Tor was used to download software, like Microsoft Office and Photoshop and other high end expensive software including the key codes as well as blackmarket full length movies etc. All illegal.

If Tor has shifted to something else, I do not know but, I suspect it is still the harbour of many illegal/illicit/uncontrolled enterprises.

Don't much care really but if Tor was so good, it would be more in the open.

Alongside DC++. I just remembered it now, that was another famous software. Every single time a song was trending, people used to flood that platform to look for it.

The good old dial-up days, 😄 then high speed came along, right about the same time when his software was booming.

Third Tip:

  • Is great to use a reputable VPN provider that has a good track record for privacy and security.
  • Some VPNs claim to provide anonymity but in reality, they may be collecting user data and selling it to third parties.
  • It's important to do your research and read reviews before selecting a VPN provider to ensure that you are getting a reliable and trustworthy service.
  • Nord Stream VPN was covered in the first tip, other VPNs can include ExpressVPN, Surfshark & more.
  • All can be googled and the reviews be read.

I guess, my making posts on this subject is to figure out what it is that you are trying to convey.

Internet privacy? Fact is, there is none.

Internet security? Whatever is made, will be broken and hacked.

Government? OK, what about it?

You know, every time you work on an idea, you are supposed to be nice to your audience, that's the key. Everyone is a "customer". Not me.

Again, don't worry about I try to convey, I just post information. If I move too fast and miss things, I will absolutely thank you, the way I did today, for contributing, the rest of your noise, don't care about it. Don't need to explain myself to you, or nobody, as you said I have anti-social behaviour. 😄

Here is the raw:
I am working clearly towards an idea, which is a blog that gets redirected to this website. Too lazy to build my own as I have a living on the side. Also, like to argue and exchange ideas with people, the few that I get along with, if any. 😄

Part of this blog, is to pass some of my knowledge as it is a free market of ideas. Like a narcissist as you said. 😄

  • Now, if this turns out viral and I have a lot of audience, I am not a communist, will work with the Administrator and have a plan to advertise small businesses to cover some costs if this is taking more of my time, if he agrees, is his house. Even have programs for veterans, as a few activate here, why not?! Free Tech Advice for veterans (public messages, general inquirers). Is it a conspiracy, you think?!
  • Part of the benefits in this blog is to help people access information, which is passion of mine. As an example, I use the VPN to watch documentaries from https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/frontline/, which, with a Canadian IP you can not access.
  • The admin also changed the title to "anyone".
  • And of course this thread is part of marketing, so people can click on my other thread, in a quest towards my take on centrism, my ideology that I developed over the years. Practical answer, I hope.

Fourth Tip

Top 10 Reasons as to why one should get a VPN:

  1. Protect your online privacy and anonymity by encrypting your internet connection and hiding your IP address.
  2. Secure your personal and sensitive information from hackers and other malicious actors, especially when using public Wi-Fi networks.
  3. Access geographically-restricted content such as streaming services, social media, news sites, and gaming platforms. I use it for https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/frontline/documentaries/ (American IP needed).
  4. Avoid internet censorship and surveillance in countries with restricted internet access or high levels of online censorship.
  5. Bypass ISP throttling and enjoy faster internet speeds for streaming and downloading.
  6. Prevent online tracking by advertisers, search engines, and social media companies.
  7. Share files and communicate online securely and privately, without the risk of interception or monitoring.
  8. Protect your devices from malware, viruses, and other online threats.
  9. Stay safe from phishing scams and fraudulent websites by using a VPN's built-in security features.
  10. Maintain online security and privacy for remote work or business use, especially when accessing company networks and sensitive data.

It's not just in case someone tries to suppress information, it's already been happening. Lot's of stories and opinions have been suppressed/censored by big tech and their friends in the political world in order to benefit one side.

I'm not a techie by any stretch of the imagination but I do think more people should use VPN's for their devices.

I've been using Express VPN for years. Not the cheapest but it works very well. It does allow you to access sites that are blocked in Canada using servers in other countries but that isn't why I use it. I use it for security, both when using public access wifi when I am travelling and I like the idea of having my internet traffic encrypted. Even if my wifi is hacked it can't be read because all my internet traffic is encrypted and decrypted on my computer.

However, some websites won't accept traffic from known VPN servers. I have to switch my VPN off to use Canadian Tire's site etc.

Fifth Tip

A specific case when VPN helped:

  • In 2019, protesters in Hong Kong used VPNs to bypass government censorship and access blocked websites and social media platforms. The VPNs allowed the protesters to communicate and organize without being detected by the authorities, who were monitoring internet activity and cracking down on dissent. This use of VPNs helped the protesters to spread their message and coordinate their actions, ultimately leading to changes in government policy.

Sixth Tip

Another specific scenario where a VPN can help:

  • Let's say you're travelling abroad and want to access your online banking account. However, you're hesitant to use public Wi-Fi because you're worried about hackers intercepting your personal information. In this case, you could use a VPN to connect to a secure server back in your home country before accessing your banking site. By doing so, your connection is encrypted and your data is transmitted through a secure tunnel, making it much harder for anyone to intercept or steal your information. This way, you can have peace of mind knowing that your sensitive information is protected even while using public Wi-Fi.

Seventh Tip

Travelling with VPN:

If you are travelling abroad and want to access online services that are only available in your home country, you can use a VPN to make it seem like you are connecting from your home country. For example, if you are from the US, Canada and travelling to Europe, you can use a VPN to access your favourite US, Canada streaming services that are normally blocked in Europe due to licensing agreements. This works because the VPN server is located in the US, Canada and all your internet traffic is routed through that server, making it appear as if you are connecting from the US, Canada.

Eight Tip

Enhanced gaming experience:

If you're an avid gamer, using a VPN can help you bypass geo-restrictions and access games that may not be available in your region. Additionally, a VPN can reduce lag and latency, resulting in a smoother and more enjoyable gaming experience. With a VPN, you can also avoid ISP throttling, which can occur when your internet service provider slows down your internet speed to reduce bandwidth usage during peak hours. By using a VPN, you can bypass this restriction and enjoy faster gaming speeds.

Ninth Tip:

You're a journalist traveling to a country with strict internet censorship laws. You need to access websites and social media platforms that are blocked in that country in order to do your research and report on local events. However, you're also concerned about your online privacy and security, as government authorities in this country may monitor your online activity.

In this scenario, you could use a VPN to bypass the internet censorship and access the websites and social media platforms you need. By encrypting your internet connection and hiding your IP address, a VPN can also help protect your online privacy and security from potential government surveillance.

Daily Tip:

You're looking to speed up your computer's performance, consider upgrading your RAM. RAM, or random access memory, is used by your computer to store and access data quickly. Upgrading to more RAM can help your computer run smoother and faster, especially if you're running multiple programs at the same time.

Before purchasing new RAM, make sure to check your computer's specifications to ensure compatibility with the type and amount of RAM you plan to install. You can also use diagnostic software to check how much RAM you currently have and how much your system can support.

Daily TIp:

Many streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime Video have region-specific content due to licensing agreements. This means that the content available in one country may not be available in another. By using a VPN, you can connect to a server in a country where the content you want to watch is available, and bypass the region restrictions.
