In DeSantis’s revised history curriculum, Rosa Parks wasn’t black or a civil rights activist

They should because you say so... Ok, that makes so much sense.

In the US, if you look at migration data from the Census you discover that they are not moving from Urban area to the country. Instead, they are moving from one urban area to yet another urban area. The only exceptions are somewhat dubious.. the bedroom community that is 20 to 30 miles from the major metro.

This one is worth a read:

Stopping “Woke”? Florida HB 7, The Bill That Attempts To Put Florida Employers’ DEI Efforts To Sleep

It's by a lawyer who's final message is "Stay Woke."

But it gives lots of useful information.

She prefers the label DEI (Diversity Equity and Inclusion) to CRT.

She gives a long list of behaviors that HB 7 will seek to outlaw.

Here's the first three:

"

Members of one race, color, sex, or national origin are morally superior to members of another race, color, sex, or national origin.

An individual, by virtue of his or her race, color, sex, or national origin, is inherently racist, sexist, or oppressive, whether consciously or unconsciously.

An individual’s moral character or status as either privileged or oppressed is necessarily determined by his or her race, color, sex, or national origin."

 https://www.natlawreview.com/article/stopping-woke-florida-hb-7-bill-attempts-to-put-florida-employers-dei-efforts-to

There are 4 more offered by her.

But she tells us there is hope. You can still get around the law by not mandating the "learning," proving it is objective or offering it only as choice.

On the other hand, here's what the other side is saying concerning what's in HB 7:

"

Today, Governor Ron DeSantis signed House Bill (HB) 7, to give businesses, employees, children and families tools to stand up against discrimination and woke indoctrination. The bill includes provisions to prevent discriminatory instruction in the workplace and in public schools and defines individual freedoms based on the fundamental truth that all individuals are equal before the law and have inalienable rights. This legislation is the first of its kind in the nation to take on both corporate wokeness and Critical Race Theory in schools in one act. Read more here.

“No one should be instructed to feel as if they are not equal or shamed because of their race,” said Governor Ron DeSantis. “In Florida, we will not let the far-left woke agenda take over our schools and workplaces. There is no place for indoctrination or discrimination in Florida.”

“By signing this legislation, which is the first in the nation to end corporate wokeness and Critical Race Theory in our schools, we are prioritizing education not indoctrination,” said Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nuñez. “We will always fight to protect our children and parents from this Marxist-inspired curriculum.”

https://www.flgov.com/2022/04/22/governor-ron-desantis-signs-legislation-to-protect-floridians-from-discrimination-and-woke-indoctrination/

So that's what actually is in HB 7 according to both sides and no, there is not any current curriculum denying the existence or race of Rosa Parks that came out of it. That was a lie perpetrated by the New York Times and The Hill.

Interesting.

"Many experts"...ya...right. And many don't agree. Be that as it is...

Individual rights...like free speech...like equal application of the law...

Competitive elections...like keeping vital information from the public just before an election...

Political dissent...like many of the Americans in jail today simply for wondering into the Capital...like the government working with information and news sources to create a narrative...

You Libbies might wanna consider not trying to sell snake oil. Almost everything the left has done since about 2015 has been destructive and rather imposing. You have grown the government and rusted a well oiled machine. You toss about terms like "fascist" like you know what you're talking about. You don't. That much is obvious from your own actions.

The story of Rosa Parks and the Civil Rights movement have to be presented in a non-politicized environment - meaning, if a white kid goes home feeling like he's a total jerk because he's white, then the teacher failed in her delivery and should be fired immediately.

Do you think today's liberal teachers can present that kind of information without brow beating white kids?

Great point Adolf. Go have a bonfire and goose-step around it for the glory of the white race.

People who worry about the truth when historical events are taught are a bunch of sissies.

I never for a moment felt any personal responsibility for anything anyone white ever did.   Or anyone British.

Some of your ancestors were jerks.  Too bad, suck it up!

Everyone’s ancestors were jerks. There are no exceptions.   Some people just can’t accept that.

History can be taught just fine without bringing the Rosa Parks beating to the forefront. We're not going to let you stinking race hustlers guilt white kids into submission.

KKK endorsed Trump.  Grand Wizard David Duke ran as a Republican. Republicans in the south fight to keep revering confederates as heroes while opposing reverence for civil rights leaders like Rosa Parks. In fact during my lifetime every living civil rights activist who marched with MLK such as Jesse Jackson and John Lewis were targets of seething Republican hatred as were later activists like Al Sharpton

As for the people who think Black people are mor*ns, Republicans are the ones who suggest that the black race has been “tricked” into voting Democrat and are too dumb to realize they should vote Republican.

Nobody feels guilt that’s made up nonsense. Everyone up until now has learned these facts of history without experiencing those alleged “guilt.” Why do think today’s youth need to be sheltered from facts that other generations weee taught?

What about the Republican saying “the facts don’t care about your feelings”?  I highly doubt you plan to erase WW2 or 9/11 from the textbooks in order to avoid causing Germans or Muslims to feel guilt right?  You’re only concerned about narratives that reflect on “white” Americans  Sure, nothing racist about that! ?

There are so many layers of absurdity in your comments:

1) You ridiculously believe that white people will feel personal guilt if they learn historical truths, which is of course false

2) You ridiculously believe that this dubious feeling of “guilt” that a white person might feel whenhearing these stories is so horrible for society that something must be done, which is a blatantly racist statement, not to mention hypocritical of everything that Republicans claim to stand foe

3) Therefore, you true history must be censored, the facts must be hidden and books must be banned, which is such a fascist thing to say it’s practically ripped right out of Mein Kampf.

As the publisher YOU LINKED TO SAID, HB7 was issued with very broad language and no guidance,  or instruction on how to interpret it comply, and Rosa Parks was edited in an effort to comply.   In fact just like most Republican laws they are purposely written to be broad and vague so that they can be used to intimidate everyone and be wielded as weapons against virtually anyone.

Your arguments are getting more and more desperate. First we heard from you that it didn’t happen it’s all fake news. Then you admitted it’s real but HILARIOUSLY said it must clearly be the work of mysterious anonymous liberal covert James Bond style sleeper agents who had infiltrated this publisher and have working  undercover for god knows how long just waiting for their chance to do something to embarrass a Republican.  Didn’t you recently post something about people not believing their  lying eyes?” If you truly think your eyes saw evidence of the covert agent’s you’re clearly hallucinating  Now you’ve resorted to “HB 7 doesn’t specifically say to edit the section on Rosa Parks found on page x of textbook y”

We know it's a lie because the curriculum publisher says it's a lie. There is nothing in their current curriculum anything like that.

I'll give you credit for one thing, King of Lies, you don't disappoint. Your prevarications are still at 100%

The KKK is no worse than you race hustlers. It's a wash.

Grand Wizard David Duke was a lunatic and nobody liked him - it's why he lost.

Republicans want to keep crybaby hysterics from overreacting. Those are images of historical figures, not active slave holders.

Rosa Parks is no more special than any other person in history. We honor the memories of ALL significant historical figures, not just Rosa Parks. You treat her like a deity, for Christ's sake.

Jesse Jackson is for sure a race hustler - a disgrace to the memory of MLK. I'm unfamiliar with the other guy.

This is decades of white democrat grooming, my friend. You don't have to be stupid to be brainwashed and brainwashing is exactly what your side has been doing. No, the real crime is on your side - you treat blacks like retards.

No, dum-dum. You’re the one who is lying and also guilty of the worst kind of foolish arguments. You’re clearly just getting desperate and trying to dig yourself out of this one anyway you can. In typical MAGA fashion you’re just blurting out whatever lies and nonsensical gibberish you can.

To repeat myself:

1) The publisher doesn’t say it’s a lie they CLEARLY say DeSantis’s law is why the edit was made. YOU ARE BLATANTLY LYING ABOUT WHAT THE PUBLISHER SAID

2) Someone’s denial of an accusation (which again the publisher didn’t deny it….they said it was an accident) doesn’t PROVE the accusation is a lie. Hunter Biden denies your accusations, do you believe his denial “proves” you’re lying?

Try again, loser

The “current” curriculum is not relevant, because it is in the process of being replaced. Hopefully, this investigative article will lead the state to accept a more accurate depiction of history.

Republicans say that about every black civil rights activist who isn’t dead.  Republicans hate black civil rights because they’re not the story's hero so they think the story is by definition against them.

In tact Republicans treat blacks like criminals and think of them as “retards”. Pretending that Republican contempt for, and  persecution of, Black people is “tough love” and that anything else is some kind of “trick” that has fooled the entire Black race says it all.
