Arrest warrant issued for Putin by ICC for alleged war crimes

Putin and his henchmen are accused of kidnapping and forced relocation of children from temporarily occupied areas in Ukraine that constitutes war crime under international law. He became only the third head of state ever under ICC arrest warrant. Putin can be arrested in any of the 132 ICC signatory states.

This is a bold move by the ICC special prosecutor. Evil of this magnitude cannot remain unpunished, it would not only be morally reprehensible but would create a future dominated by brutal, aggressive dictators.

hate the Western system

There's no such thing (but we're digressing). Weimar republic right before Hitler was a Western-type society. A handful of European countries now following that path or even approaching that state. Partisan divisions in the US are causing serious concern. Democratic facade of Canada's governance is wearing thin. The distance between Western democracy and authoritarianism isn't huge and the path is familiar and well trodden: populism; hollowing, trivialization or subversion of independent institutes and checks; passive and dependent citizens gradually turning into voiceless population. Where citizens don't or cannot keep their democracy in a clean working condition, it begins to erode and show cracks. But we digress.

Putin is a criminal. He invaded Ukraine and his army under his orders committed war crimes against women and children in Ukraine. I hope that he faces justice somehow and soon. His penalty for so many war crimes in Ukraine and Syria is death.

Putin is not the only one though. Khamenei of Iran and Assad of Syria must also be charged for crimes against humanity and hope to face justice and their penalty is also death.
