Should you be outspoken as an atheist?

You may offend and hurt people who have lost loved ones. Think about a mom who lost her son to suicide and can't wait to join him in heaven. Should this stop you from voicing your opinion even if your famous like Bill Maher? Just a thought. I'm an atheist myself.

I couldn't care less about a person's religious views, until they start telling other people how to behave.  Once that happens, I couldn't care less how offended they are with me telling them their God doesn't exist.

Even if they lost a son or daughter to suicide? Do you think Bill Maher and George Carlin thought of this when speaking openly?

I wouldn't consider that to be relevant.

I don't have an opinion on BM or GC.
