OTTAWA -

Canada's omission from a military pact involving three of its closest allies is symptomatic of a larger problem in how this country is perceived by its friends, experts are warning, as the U.S., Britain and Australia move ahead on their deal.

So - Canada is being left out of important security discussions because the rest of the world thinks we're in china's pocket.  Great.

What are we really have to offer, poutine ?

there is only one country disputing Canada's claims to the Grand Banks & Northwest Passage

that country is America

Canada opposes American Freedom of Navigation up to the 12 mile limit

that makes America Canada's primary adversary at sea

why would America give such an adversary SSN's ?

Canadian SSN's to follow American SSN's around in the arctic ?

America is not so naive

Australia on the other hand, has no territorial disputes with America

Canada has been sucking up to Beijing for 50 years and China is Canada's second largest trading partner.   Many politicians in Canada may be heavily influenced by China.  It took years for Canada to make a decision about Huawei telecommunications company while the Five Eyes decided to ban them years before.  What would one expect with a wishy-washy government in Canada?

Not true, Russia has disputed claims, along with Denmark and Hans island not sure if thats resolved...And lets be real, it is America we owe our sovereignty to, without them we would have none to really speak off... and if they decided to take it what could we really do other than offer them Quebec and the secret poutine recipe...

Giving Canada nuke subs would akin to giving a small child a sharp kitchen knife...

America does not want your sovereignty

America simply defends Freedom of Navigation

anywhere in international waters up to the twelve mile limit

but Canada, like Russia, tries to declare a "Sphere of Influence" beyond that

Canada claims that its empire includes the Grand Banks & Northwest Passage beyond the 12 mile limit

America simply will not submit to that

no matter who attempts to assert it, be it Russia, China,  or Canada

in terms of the Russians in Canadian waters

the only threat there is Russian strategic ballistic & guided missile submarines operating under the ice

and that threat is such

that America has to operate in Canadian waters

in complete secrecy

to include from Ottawa

They may not want it, but they have done more to earn it than our own government.
