Furthermore, I do not understand the love affair with politicians. They are not heroes IMO. I work with some of them directly.  Every single time, no matter if they are R or D, male or female, they are always such dishonest expletives. Small sample size but still that is why I view them universally as disreputable.

That's why it's so difficult to find actual statesmen in the government ranks. All we can do is support the individual who looks to be the most genuine.

I produce a lot of the raw data that they use in their press releases. Each time we meet with them about what to say, they are always asking us to not necessarily change numbers but either not publish them or put the undesirable items at the back.

what are you trying to say?

Perhaps you should just read a book, instead of keeping up with the news.  The idea that Trump is in the past is a joke, not worthy of comment by anything other than another joke.

He doesn't understand the left's fixation on DT. Nobody does, really, so it's a legit question.

Some people are just embarrassed by their cult like worship of a man who has been shown to be such a waste of a body being exposed for all to see.

Who ever said they were heroes?  Some are fairly normal people, trying to do a job.  Others are in it for whatever they can get.  I don't think I've ever heard of one being called a hero.  Except by Magachuds, of course, but that doesn't count.

Simple question... When was Trump the President? Now or in the past. His comments and such have no tangible value.. they are just opinions much like mine or yours.

Simple but irrelevant question.

Edit>  Who cares about his opinions?  Beyond their amusement value, I mean.

Donalds words can still incite his moronic buffoon followers to commit violence. Can you do that with your opinion?

What?

Was he President of the United States?

Is he the current front runner for the GOP Presidential nomination?

Do his political statements influence millions of people?

Are you so ignorant that you don't know Trump is the leading candidate for the Republican nomination?

That makes him a huge danger to democracy after what he did Jan 6th, whether you understand that or not.

"Was He"... answer is yes. He WAS and therefore not is. Current front runner? We shall see how that pans out. However, that is prediction and not objective fact. I know.. most folks on forums can't tell the difference between the two.

I do not understand the obsession with former President Trump. He is in the past ... and nothing more.

It might be an obsession if he had no chance of winning POTUS. Do you know something that makes that chance ZERO?

No. However, do you have anything to suggest that anything we say now is anything more than a prediction?

There are only a very few people who have much greater than zero odds of becoming POTUS in 2024 and Trump is one of them.

That alone makes being concerned (or even obsessed) about that danger completely valid.

You keep being obsessed. No one is stopping you. I am going to choose to focus on things that I have complete control over. Getting outraged every time he opens his mouth is a waste of time.

Getting worked up every time that Trump says something stupid is like going out in a rain storm and complaining that you got wet.

Getting worked up every time somebody mentions Trump is like going out in a rain storm and complaining that you got wet.

Who is "getting worked up"? Making sure that others know about danger has at least the potential to avert it.

Though I'm starting to question the impact of discussion with Canadian right wingers who can't vote in the election.

Well it is obvious that you care about what he says. You care more than simple passing interest. One has to care in order to hang on his every word and react to it each and every time... which I guess you do.

Far from it. I never subscribed to twitter and certainly don't read truth social.

But I do care when someone tries to gain official US government power with LIES and CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES.

Nothing is more ignorant than trusting the viewpoint of a democrat.

It doesn't matter what the FBWI says; Jan 6 was a protest gone wrong, nothing more.
