blackbird
CTV news announced today the RCMP is investigating the leak from CSIS of Chinese spy interference. Canadians apparently have no right to know anything if it comes from unauthorized channels in CSIS. Why is CSIS not authorizing the release of such information? Guess they are not permitted to give any information out unless authorized by Trudeau. That is the only explanation that makes sense.

Well yeah - csis can't release information unless authorized by the gov't of the day. That's a necessary design element to your security apparatus But a more interesting question is why did the authorities believe that it's not worth investigating more into the interference itself, but IS worth trying to find out who spilled the beans about it. As to why the gov't didn't want the info getting out -well i think we know that.
blackbird
There should be a detailed explanation given to the public by Trudeau as to what constitutes privileged or private information in relation to the election interference. The explanation should be full and there should be some definition of what kind of information the public can be told. The public must be tired of being treated like school children. The patronizing comments by bureaucrats saying on the committee we can't tell this and that is tiring. It does not instill confidence in the government. I'm sure people believe the government is simply trying to hide things to protect their incompetence. The public has a right to know everything possible. It's also not an official committee of parliament and thus has no power to demand information from the government. It was created by ... Justin Trudeau, in fact. It not only can't subpoena information, it can't appeal if cabinet says no. What witnesses it calls will be decided by the Liberal majority. What terms of investigation it chooses to use will be set by the Liberal majority. And you can be sure that will NOT include the principle questions Canadians want answered: What did the Liberals know about these alleged Chinese agents, when were they informed, and what, if anything did they then do? This isn't "bending to the public desire for answers", this is distraction chaffe that will buy time for the issue to fade and produce a muddled answer that will appear to suggest there's no further need for investigation without clarifying anything. blackbird
In Trudeau"s 2017 visit with the Pope in the Vatican, he gave the Pope a huge volume: "For his part, Trudeau gifted Francis a copy of "Relations de Jesuits du Canada," a rare 6-volume edition that documents the Jesuits' reports on Canadian territory, and a Jesuit vocabulary in a special edition." Here's what Pope Francis and Justin Trudeau talked about | Catholic News Agency Considering the Jesuit's and Rome's secret diabolical history, this reveals a lot about Trudeau's trust in the Jesuits and Rome. We know the Pope is a Socialist, a Globalist and a Jesuit himself. Trudeau is a strong globalist as well. That in itself should be a concern, in addition to all the deeper concerns. There is no independent or public investigation. You may be right, but when intelligence services are involved it's generally a bad idea to hold public investigations. You don't want to to be giving up your intelligence methods and sources. Personally, I'd like to see the investigation conducted by a bi-partisan (conversatives, bloc, ndp and liberals) committee with security clearance. 36 minutes ago, I am Groot said: And what do I not really know? blackbird
The question I would have is how is "national security" harmed by Canadians knowing the details of the Chinese Communist Party interference? How else are Canadians going to figure out how to defend Canada's democratic system from foreign interference? Obviously bureaucrats and CSIS are not able to protect it. If it to be protected, it has to be grass roots Canadians that know the details and do something about it. The interference is at local levels.
