Lab Leak Most Likely Caused Pandemic, Energy Dept. Says.

The conclusion, which was made with “low confidence,” came as America’s intelligence agencies remained divided over the origins of the coronavirus.

---> This is about the only thing that I could compromise on regarding Covid-19 theories, was open since the beginning that some CCP agent was stressed out, paranoid that the State is watching his every move, and leaked it by accident.

---> Anything further theory than this, I am suspicious.

Your cite is paywalled, so why is the Energy Dept an expert on the pandemic?

???

DOE also has a role to play in responding to national emergencies, including public health crises like the COVID-19 pandemic.

Are you testing me? 😄

News to me. Never heard of ANY role played by the DoE in the pandemic. Nor that they have ANY medical expertise.

And the "LOW CONFIDENCE" for that judgement further fuels my suspicion that they don't.

Energy Department concludes lab leak likely sparked COVID pandemic

The New York Times reported that officials briefed on the intelligence said it was relatively weak. The two outlets reported that the determination was made relying on a network of national laboratories as opposed to other intelligence gathering mechanisms such as intercepting communications.

I don’t think this is proof and it certainly isn’t proof of nefarious intent.  I seriously don’t believe the Chinese government deliberately unleashed this only their own people and the world.

We look for explanations for things. The origin of Covid is something we may never know.  A hundred years ago, there was a Spanish flu. It killed many times more than Covid.  There wasn’t technology to invent it, I don’t think.  So we believe such a thing can naturally occur.

The Spanish Flu wasn't invented nor produced by technology more advanced than careless sanitary conditions and ignorance.

INFLUENZA 1918 | ARTICLE

The First Wave

Quote

Fort Riley, Kansas was a sprawling establishment housing 26,000 men and encompassing an entire camp, Camp Funston, within its 20,000-acre boundaries. Soldiers often complained about the inhospitable weather to be found at the site: bone-chilling winters and sweltering summers. Sandwiched in between these two extremes were the blinding dust storms. Within the camp were thousands of horses and mules that produced a stifling nine tons of manure each month. The accepted method of disposing of the manure was to burn it, an unpleasant task made more so by the driving wind. On Saturday, March 9, 1918, a threatening black sky forecast the coming of a significant dust storm. The dust, combining with the ash of burning manure, kicked up a stinging, stinking yellow haze. The sun was said to have gone dead black in Kansas that day.

Some, looking for a point of origin of the so-called Spanish influenza that would eventually take the lives of 600,000 Americans, point to that day in Kansas. Shortly before breakfast on Monday, March 11, the first domino would fall signaling the commencement of the first wave of the 1918 influenza. Company cook Albert Gitchell reported to the camp infirmary with complaints of a “bad cold.” Right behind him came Corporal Lee W. Drake voicing similar complaints. By noon, camp surgeon Edward R. Schreiner had over 100 sick men on his hands, all apparently suffering from the same malady.

Another ^paywalled cite. Does the FBI have virologists and epidemiologists on staff?

Gavin Newsom does not allow you to read the Wall Street Journal in California?

😄

It worked fine on my end yesterday, I can see is paywalled now, for some reason.

For what it matters.

But important to all the management trainees that insist blame is far more important than a fix.

A fix? You want a fix? OK here's a fix.

Fck China! Fck them, their slave labour,  their predatory practices, and their monstrous leader!

IMO...we should halt all trade with China. All of it.

Fck China and fck those who protect them.

Do you know what that would do to inflation?

Yes I do. I also know what it would do for our manufacturing industry, pay rates and national security.

You Libbies are fond of saying "its for the greater good".

Well this would actually be for the greater good.

This is sort of shocking, given all you say (and don't say) about Russia.

You rail on about inflation, but you'd blow it up to "fck" China?

You are complaining here about slave labor in China, when Russia has the same problem.

You say the west shouldn't "poke" a nuclear power for no reason, but you'd poke China.

You regularly post in defense and support of Putin, but want to "fck" China's "monstrous leader."

^^This is a weird distinction you are making. America's two biggest geopolitical foes are so similar, but your positions seem to flip 180 from Russia to China. Is it a race issue?

Is there slavery in Russia?

China poisoned the entire world. Fck 'em!

I don't support or defend Putin. Nor do I support or defend Zelinsky. As far as I'm concerned, they can both go fly a kite with Biden.

Now...you go buy your cheap-ass crap at Wallymart and tell yourself over and over..."There's nothing I can do about thius."

There's a good patriot.
