Question for Fellow Conservatives: Do you want Trump to Have a Long Run This Time Around?

No one sane believes climate change WILL cause "the world is going to end."

You're completely out of touch or just engaging in ridiculous hyperbole.

Multiple extinction events have occurred in the past, but "the world" is still here and after thousands (or millions) of years, life recovered. Do you know what causes extinction events? Climate change has that POTENTIAL. You know what happened to the climate when the asteroid hit 60 million years ago?

You only discredit yourself and demonstrate your ignorance when you make that sort of claim.

https://thehill.com/policy/energy-environment/426353-ocasio-cortez-the-world-will-end-in-12-years-if-we-dont-address/amp/

that took ten seconds.

Edit:  Btw, I take back my speculation that you might be in that number.  That was lazy of me.

I missed this comment earlier.  It would be an amazing ticket.  But neither would want it.  Desantis because he has the polling, job performance and popularity to win a presidential election on his own.

And Trump because he doesn’t want another alpha male around.  Desantis would be perfect for 2028.  Conservatives(Trump became a conservative sometime after entering the White House.  All of the hysterics from the left probably pushed him over, that’s the kind of person he is, he likes revenge) could have the White House locked up for the next 8 years(after 2024).  Who do the Dems have?  A bunch of left wing environmental extremists that think the world will end.  Nobody’s going to vote that in.

No, Trump never "became" a conservative. Attempting to end the republic and seize the presidency without being elected is not conservative. Suggesting we suspend the constitution to put him back in office is not conservative. Those actions are radical in the extreme, far more radical than the "socialists" who hope to persuade people to vote one way or another.

Trump never became anything other than the self-obsessed megalomaniac he's always been.

It took you ten seconds to imagine that AOC is sane wrt climate? You do know that she's NOT a climate scientist, right.

She is just as hyperbolic AS YOU. Congrats on finding your soul mate. LMAO

You are going to have to do better than that.  She’s a member of Congress.  I could make a big list of such extremists to prove my point, but I don’t think you’ll grasp the implications.

Trump is doing exactly what he is supposed to do....BE TRUMP, not giving a damn about the impact on existing political machinery...instead, hoping to cause as much chaos as possible, which is a sandbox that favours his chances, same as in 2016.   Disrupt...disrupt...disrupt.   Keep getting free media attention, even in Canada.

The burden is not on Trump, as he is playing with house money, having already won (and lost) the presidency.   He certainly cannot do any worse than many other GOP wannabes.

No, the burden is on the Republican party to find its way out of this quandry on its own, Trump be damned.  Trump is not a long term strategy. Consolidating gains in the House and winning back the Senate should be a higher priority.

YOU used the SAME HYPERBOLE HERE. The world not ending does not mean concern about climate change is extremist.

If you were rational, you'd understand there is a world of hurt between what we have now and "the world ending."

It seems YOU ARE NOT.

Probably true.

Ah...we can dream.

It WAS YOUR characterization of what left wing "extremists" believe AND what "NOBODY" is going to vote for.

Firstly, YOU DON'T KNOW what Democrats are going to vote for HERE. Extreme weather IS HERE NOW.

Secondly, AS I SAID, concern for the environment is NOT "extremist" just because YOU BELIEVE THAT. It the view of anyone who KNOWS about the science. AKA, not you.

Your interpretation of "the world will end," is NOT what ANYONE SANE believes. You are just repeating the hyperbolic claims of nutcases.

You said you don’t like Trump’s politics.  You were asked which politics, and you have yet to answer that simple question.

And I didn’t  gave Trump credit for Scotus, you have me mixed up with Bush Cheney-2004.

With Trump's last infamous move (storming capital hill) the only way he'll be able to win the election is if he does what he did the first time in 2016: charm the pants off of everyone and smooth talk his way into office like the celebrity businessman he is. Being president is great publicity for Trump and is good for (his) business

Trump is the only declared candidate so far but I think there should be better and safer choices when the others declare their candidacy. I thought most of the 2016 Republican candidates were much stronger than the Democrat side. Trump was certainly a better President than Biden but he's not far behind in age. If the Republican nominee isn't Trump, will the MSM and big tech be just as vicious in their attacks? Probably.

Are you seeing the high (low?) lights of the Twitter hearings? Many instances of Twitter PROTECTING Trump and responding favorably to HIS objections.

However Jan 6th was the end  of that.

the world is not going to end. Global Warming has been a discussion of 20 years and we've seen hot winters and weird weather all the long time since then... the snow always comes back.. the weather always goes back to normal in routine cycles. Global Warming is not necessarily propaganda, but I have yet to be slapped in the face by common fear that the world is ending <--- its not THAT serious.   (in my opinion)

"The world" as meaning the big rock will NOT be ENDED by its climate changing.

"The world" meaning our civilizations could very well be ended. Just like a large meteor could end it. AKA, another extinction event. There have been 4 or 5 already.

Several civilizations in history have been wiped out or forced to move by local climate change.

yes of course...but at this pace global warming would take -- what? -- another five hundred years to make an impact?...

No it's already happening. An impact has been made and it isn't pretty. The increasing frequency and ferocity of extreme weather events and things like rising sea levels and the megadrought in the Western US are, among the science community, understood to be symptoms of anthropogenic warming. If you want a calendar date for extinction or something, I don't think we have a good model for that.

The major difference between MMGW and historic climate changes (aside from those caused by major impacts or mega-volcanoes), is the accelerated pace of the changes.
