The CBC (they have good things once in a while) also ran an article: How to protect yourself from real-estate title fraud. ---> Take steps to protect your identity: Be wary of who you share personal information with. Regularly check credit card reports, bank and credit card statements and report anything irregular. Shred documents containing personal information before placing them in the garbage. Limit mail theft by regularly retrieving mail.
