Davos speaker calls for one billion people to 'stop eating meat' for 'innovation' and the environment

Siemens AG chairman said the future will bring proteins that are zero carbon, healthier and tastier than meat

A speaker at the World Economic Forum (WEF) called on one billion people to "stop eating meat" to combat climate change. 

"If a billion people stop eating meat, I tell you, it has a big impact. Not only does it have a big impact on the current food system, but it will also inspire innovation of food systems," Siemens AG Chairman Jim Hagemann told the WEF crowd in Davos, Switzerland, on Wednesday. 

He was "inspired" by his 24-year-old daughter who asked him how he could advocate for "zero carbon value chains" and still eat meat products. 

To bring you up to speed on this ignorant hack, here are the talking points:

1. There is no climate change. (For climate change, there has to be MAJOR changes in local weather conditions, which is the very definition of climate change)

2. Termites produce more C02 in the atmosphere than all human activity combined.

3. The largest concentration of greenhouse gasses (which keeps the surface of the earth from resembling the surface of the moon) is WATER VAPOR, which is 97 percent of all greenhouse gasses. (Makes sense, since THE VAST MAJORITY OF THE SURFACE OF THE EARTH IS WATER). Only 29 percent of the ENTIRE surface of the earth is land. (including continents and islands)

4. Out of that 29 percent, HALF of that is used for ALL agriculture. (Growing food.) That means 14.5 percent of the earth's land surface produces ALL agriculture, FEEDING EVERYONE.

Out of that 14.5 percent, 77 percent of that is dedicated to cattle production.

That means ELEVEN  PERCENT OF THE ENTIRE EARTH'S SURFACE IS DEDICATED TO RAISING MEAT.

The numbers don't lie. But that retard from Siemens (who I guarantee you has a succulent T-bone steak every night for dinner) somehow thinks 11 percent of the earth's surface is somehow outpacing the 97 percent of all greenhouse gasses and somehow changing the climate.

I always thought that claim about the termites was interesting. One hears it from time to time. I did a bit of a search on it one time some time ago.

Near as I can figure they're confusing Carbon dioxide with methane.

His #3 is actually true. Kind of. "97% of greenhouse gases are water vapor." I believe the correct number is 95.

But that's interesting because it's how climate alarmists are able to postulate crisis warming. There isn't actually enough warming in 1 degree per doubling of CO2 to cause a crisis so they hypothesize a situation where carbon dioxide warming creates a positive feedback of added warming in water vapor.

Just a couple of interesting but irrelevant little factoids.

Trust me I'm not the guy who's going to back up anything from the WEF. Feel free to continue attacking the guy.

My goodness. Someone should alert all of the world's climate scientists to this elementary-level trivia. They probably haven't seen it all laid out this thoughtfully. And all the governments and businesses going to extraordinary lengths to adapt and prepare for climate change. They'll be so relieved. I assume there's a Nobel prize in it for you. Carbon dioxide emissions don't matter much. Carbon emissions are actual pollution.

But even if you're talking Carbon dioxide they might not matter as potential harm but they matter to the debate because if you want to change the world by thinking you can control the climate through lowering CO2 emissions you'd need to start with China. It's the number one emitter. Then India.

Well, for now, I'm saying that you don't know how to read, and that you probably have a second grade reading level, (which would mean you're probably a blue state 12st grader. )

If CO2 was 95 percent of all greenhouse gasses, it would be a factor. CO2 is less than a percentage point of all greenhouse gasses (those wonderful clouds that keep the world from resembling the surface of the moon, by the way), and MOST CO2 is not produced by humans. It is produced by natural occurrences.

What I have attempted to point out, (not just in my learned opinions but also in the infallible scientific links I've produced over the past 20 years at this and other forums) is the fact that human behavior can neither warm or cool a planet and certainly cannot change the climate. Right now, a Downs Syndrome adult who is paying attention might come to that conclusion, based on all the solid evidence. I'm starting to think doctors should certify blue state high school grads a few points below Downs Syndrome adults.
